"Noisy and Cramped"
This hotel is a marriott brand. But its not a marriott level hotel. The place is clean but the rooms are super tiny, perhaps the nosiest hotel i eve stayed at when it comes to hearing doors slam, people stomping above you, etc. You also get 0 perks for being a lifetime platinum member here. The hotel is also a 30 min walk to the center were the cathedral, David, and all other attractions.
"Marriott Rewards members should choose the Westin"
I have 3k nights in Marriott hotels and am a lifetime platinum member. The rooms are OK, but the service was poor. Room was very warm, no a/c during the winter months and opening the windows to the street/station was noisy, even on a high floor. No sleep, the front desk laughed when we asked for a fan (said they didn't even have a fan...). No breakfast included for elite members... Transfer your points to SPG and stay at the Westin. AC in Milan was just as bad, never again, especially given the high points category. I'd choose a Fairfield over AC.
"Marriott' Yes I think so."
I am a Platinum Member of Marriott and when I read one of the other reviews on here about this hotel I had to respond. It is not an American Marriott, just as a Marriott in England is not. On previous trips to Florence, 2 or 3 times a year for the last 5 years, I would stay in more traditional Italian hotel in the center closer to the train station. I started staying at this hotel a little over a year ago and find it to be more comfortable for me on business as an American. The AC is great, most of the older hotels either don't have AC or it doesn't work very well. The bathrooms are great, on one trip I was upgraded to the top floor suite with a Steam Room that I could have fit 10 people into. Unbelievable. I do have to agree that it is strange that the breakfast isn't free as a Gold or higher Marriott member and it should be made clear on the Marriott website when booking. I learned this on my first trip so I also book the room with the breakfast. But other than that it is great for me and the Tram is a few minutes walk to take you to the train station and center of everything. Also, I never look for someone to help me with my bags (Zaphira13) or valet parking.
"Good and modern hotel"
it is a very new hotel so all the rooms are nicely decorated and well equipped. Free Italian newspapers a the reception are also available. Good continental breakfast with variety of food. The hotel has a convenient garage underneath with direct access to the rooms or reception by elevators. In close proximity to a park with several sport and outdoor options. The only thing I have to point out it is not the best location to experience Florence. You are not on the river and neither you are in the real city centre. The latter one is only a 15-20 mins walking.
"Marriot' I don't think so."
First, I want to say that we are Gold Members of Marriott's Hotels, so we've spent a lot of nights in different Marriotts around the world and that's why we choose this Hotel. We arrive at the evening and there's no one to help us with our bags and no valet parking either. As Gold members, we have breakfast included in all Marriotts, not here. When my husband ask why, they said is because they are "by Marriott", and not "Marriott" at all. This is very confusing to us and we think that Marriott should not put their name in hotels like this one, because, they are definitely not Marriott exceptional quality.
