"A STRANGE PLACE"
En route to and from Portugal, Valladolid is possibly not at the top of most peoples list of tourist destination. It has sprawling suburbs, and this hotel is in the middle of one of them, not far from the autoroute. It is a modern hotel, trying to imitate the style of a palace. And so is used for local weddings. The rooms are large, and reasonably appointed. The bar is in an inner (covered) courtyard, so having a drink on a Spanish terrace of a summer evening is not possible. I found it to be a strange place - really too luxurious and expensive for a stop-over hotel, and over reliant on weddings. This is an upscale stop-over point for the foreign tourist driving through Spain, not a place to linger
"Very Nice But Room Noise Problem"
Stayed for 2 nights on a business trip, the hotel is beautiful and spotless. It is a little bit remote from Valladolid centre, around 10 euro taxi ride. Strangely enough there is no bar in the hotel, there is the Los Jeronimos area, where breakfast is served and the waiters serve drinks from what I think is the kitchen area, but it's difficult to grab their attention in this area. There is a small gym, excellent grounds and gardens and rooms for functions etc. Main concern I have is the noise from the corridor and other room doors closing, this really disturbed my sleep both nights. Staff were excellent particularly on the desk, not sure about the iron board given, maybe I am taller than usual guests..
"Nice breakfast, good wifi"
I stayed here for five nights in August and it was a pleasant stay. The breakfast assortment was terrific, wifi was reliable, staff was courteous and spoke enough English, and the room was spacious. However, there wasn't much to do near the hotel as it isn't near restaurants or shops. Overall pleasant stay.
"Lovely nights stay"
We stayed here twice once on the way to Southern Spain and once on the way back. Hotel has bags of character and lovely grounds. Staff are really nice and helpful. We had a double room overlooking the river, lovely views. Food was really good.
"Felt as if we were under house arrest!"
We arrived at this hotel on a beautiful day for our last night in Spain. We asked if we could have lunch outside on the terrace but were informed there was a wedding due to take place and guests weren't allowed outside. Later we asked if we could sit out under the trees in what appeared to be a very beautiful large garden, one of the reasons we chose this hotel. Again no, even the chairs well away from the wedding party had had their cushions removed. Same again in the evening another wedding, this time we were even forbidden to look out of the window and the doors were locked to the terrace preventing anyone going outside for the whole evening. The staff were amazing, friendly, courteous, our room was lovely and the food excellent. Think the management ought to perhaps remember to look after the residents of the hotel when they have a function on.
