AC Porto hotel is located in the neighbourhood of Antas, just 4km from the railway station and the nearest bus stop, and 12km from the airport.
"Excellent gym for a 4* hotel"
The gym is quite big, with three cardio machines (treadmill, cross-trainer and cycle-no spinning). Also dumbbells. The staff opened it for me at 6:30 in the morning (official opening hours from 7:00 to 22:00), so appreciative. Also a sauna in the gym (which I did not use). Other facilities are very convenient.
"Start of our Portugal Vacation "
We arrived October 21 after a long flight and train ride. This hotel is on outskirts of city so you must taxi in for everything. It was a fine place to stay. Staff was helpful when asked. It was near the stadium if that is import for you
"Excellent Hotel but Away from Downtown Porto"
We recently stayed here and, in general were quite pleased. We arrived early and the room was not yet ready so they called the cleaning staff and asked them to make that room a priority. We were then seated in the lounge and were called after a very short time to let us know that the room was now ready. The receptionist provided us with the WI-Fi id and password but told us that this was not available in the room itself. He said that within the room we would have to use our Marriott Rewards id -- when I told him that I had not been at a Marriott for several years, he checked online and told me that my id was expired. However, he promptly assigned me a new one and provided the id and password to go with it. This was much appreciated, as neither my wife nor I wanted to have to come down to the lobby or the restaurant everytime we need WiFi. The room itself was relatively large, very clean and included a coffee/tea maker with a good selection of coffees and teas. There was also a mini-fridge with a selection of drinks and a price card. Surprisingly, the drinks from the fridge were VERY reasonably priced (most hotels charge a premium price for anything in the room fridge!). The hotel does provide a buffer breakfast with an extensive selection of hot and cold menu items, including a wide variety of pastries, fruits, cold cuts, bread, and so on. The only drawback is that it is somewhat expensive at 11 euros per person. We had a problem with the shower one morning and reported it to the front desk and they had it fixed later that day (I don't know how quickly it was done, as we were out on tours most of the day). They were also very helpful with taxis and with providing assistance about things to do and see in Porto. As noted in my title, this hotel is somewhat out of the way and not within walking distance of any of the attractions in downtown Porto. Taxis to various attractions, however, were relatively inexpensive, usually less than 10 euros. There is a huge mall within a 5 minute walk, however, so shopping and dining choices were readily accessible (and the mall was open until 11:00 p.m. each night). The hotel includes a restaurant and bar, and a small but well-equipped fitness room.
The stuff is helpful. Correct room and hotel. The metro station is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The center (Sao Bento station) is approximately 15 minutes by metro. The breakfast was more 3 stars than 4.
Excellent value for the money. Location for us was convenient using Metro than driving. Room was nice, clean and specious. There is not food on Sunday, restaurant is closed. Breakfast food, it's a buffet, it's not worth the money. and there is not menu available for the breakfast. If, you can live with this, we recommend the hotel.
