AC Sants is located near the Sants train station, Fira of Barcelona and Plaza de España, with easy access to Plaza Catalunya, Sagrada Familia, the MACBA, the airport and the city center.
"Great location, not-so-great ammenities"
This is a Marriott so I came with certain expectations, so probably my review will sound a tad harsh. I recommend the AC Barcelona Sants if you have to catch an early Train (or early flight via a train) from the Barcelona Sants station. The location is right next to the Barcelona Sants Train station (~600m), the rooms are fairly spacious, and quite clean... and that's about it. This not a place you stay for fun and take in the local culture, this is a utility. If you're in Barca for business, stay here, if you're here for fun, find another hotel.
"good location to train station"
I had to catch a 6am train so this was a perfect location to make sure I was on time. The room has quiet, clean and modern. I slept well, the bed was firm and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful during my stay. The breakfast was good, offered a lot of variety. Overall good stay
"Convenience to Station"
Stayed at this Hotel for 1 night prior to a train departure next morning. Directly across the road from Barcelona Sants Station. Very modern and comfortable Hotel, bed was fantastic and room was quite large. Close by to Restaurants etc. Did not have breakfast there as we were leaving very early. Not in the city centre so would only recommend if you were travelling by rail.
"Just average, but worth the price."
I stayed two nights (Oct 14-16, 2016) in this hotel prior to a cruise. The hotel was in an excellent location for gaining access to city transportation and city tours. I arrived early in the morning and had to wait around in the lobby for my room. This gave me a chance to look out of the huge windows in the restaurant area. I was able to get into my room around noon, which was much appreciated. My initial impression was that the hotel was just too dark. The hallways, the rooms, the bathrooms... all just dark. From what I could see, things were clean; however, it was hard to tell being that the shower was black. I noticed that the simple décor was a bit dated (i.e. the dark curtains had numerous rips and holes). Once I had the chance to get into bed, the first thing I noticed was the dirty air vent. It looked as if it never was dusted, perhaps because it is high on the wall. The hotel staff was helpful. I needed assistance with an non-English menu and the staff was more than accommodating. On my second day, I had to call for a washcloth and was told that they ran out, but quickly delivered extra hand towels. Once again, everything was just okay for the lower price. Unsure if I would choose this particular AC Hotel again. I like things a bit brighter and would pay extra to have it.
"Nice hotel opposite Sants Estacio"
Hotel was in a good location in relation to being able to get around Barcelona however the area itself was out of the way so to speak. Hop On & Hop Off Bus stops just across the road (€28). Rooms had a modern and interesting layout. Mini Bar was pretty cheap. No iron or tea/coffee facilities in the room however. The 'fitness centre' consists of one treadmill, one bike and a handful of dumbells (not even a bench!). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Being opposite Sants Estacio was handy when travelling to and from airport, you can catch the R2 for around €4 for a single trip. We also paid for a T10 ticket for around €9 which provides you with 10 metro journeys. Would stay here again if travelling to Camp Nou but for a city break I would stay closer to the Port or Las Ramblas.
