"Best Hotel Deal in Valencia"
The hotel is excellently situated and top notch. The basic rooms can be a bit on the small side but the location makes up for it. The staff was very helpful and what better feeling than to walk down a short corridor from a busy street and feel the noise of the shopping district close behind you. The lobby is especially well appointed with marble, great original Spanish artwork. Chic at a very good price. If you want a bit more peace and quiet than book a room on the back side.
"Excellent location, very helpful staff for a couple with a baby."
The staff was very polite, friendly and helpful. I called in advance to request a crib and it was already placed in the room when we arrived. They offered to help if we needed to heat the baby's bottles and they were generally helpful regarding baby-related issues. The man at the desk the night we arrived gave us useful advice about what to see in the city and how to get there. In the morning, one of them also helped us to get coins for the bus. I spoke with them in Spanish but I could see that all of the front desk staff was also fluent in English. We booked not knowing much about the hotel except that it was relatively well-rated and it seemed well located. It was even better located than we expected! Not only is it walking distance from the Oceanographic (the site we liked the most in Valencia) and the City of Arts and Sciences, but there is also a bus station right by the hotel entrance that takes you to the Old City in 15-20 minutes. Bus number 19 to Plaza del Ayuntamiento, last stop. The room did not feel very spacious once it had a crib next to the double bed, but it was very cosy. The wooden doors and floors and the green marble in the bathroom give it a nice, homey feeling, clean and well-kept. After each cleaning, it was restocked with soap, body wash, lotion and even a razor and disposable toothbrush! There was also a full-sized hairdryer attached to the wall (useful to my wife). The breakfast was also good with different types of Spanish ham and bacon. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Valencia.
My husband, son and I have been going here for nearly 5 years for lunch. They have great tuna and tomato salad and grilled chicken to die for. Staff are really friendly. Hotel is spotless. The hotel is central enough to get cheap taxis into town.
"Nice Stay in Valencia"
We stayed two nights at this hotel and had a nice stay. The room was a bit small, but very clean and well appointed. The hotel has parking, and is located on a bus route that is easy to take to city center if you want to avoid traffic. The only negative thing I have is with the breakfast.. While there was probably a loss of understanding with the Spanish/Engilish language difference, we thought the Reception Desk told us breakfast was included. On the first morning, we were asked our name, and we were checked off a guest list. The breakfast was a very nice Euro style buffet and we enjoyed it. The next morning at breakfast, we were informed that there was a charge. We chose the less expensive continental breakfast, and after our first very small cup of coffee, were advised that only one cup was allowed; or maybe it was two, but either seemed pretty chinchy. Upon, check out from the hotel, we are hit with a very big bill for the two breakfasts.
Marriott hotels are always comfortable and so is this one. Good location, close to the city of arts, and a nice walk to the center. The beach is not far either. The room is comfortable and has an amazing shower.
