"Lovely stay in Berlin"
We stayed at the Adina Apartment hotel in Berlin for the first time. We were graciously met by David who helped us, with Jason during our stay. Everything was clean and lovely. We had a quiet and peaceful stay at a wonderful hotel and lication.
"Fabulous spacious modern rooms in a fantastic location"
I have nothing negative to say about the Adina Checkpoint Charlie, for the price we paid it was absolutely fantastic value for money - the rooms are spacious, modern and well equipped and feel more like a small apartment rather than a room. There are kitchen facilities, a dining table, sofa, TV, separate sleeping area and a modern large bathroom. The breakfast was tasty and just what we needed to set ourselves up for a day of exploring and there are some nice areas to sit and relax for a few minutes after a day on your feet. It is within walking distance of Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate and the Topographie des Terrors (amongst other stuff) and if walking doesn't take your fancy there is a tube station about an 5-8 minute walk from the hotel which we used regularly for getting around (the subway system is extremely organised, easy to understand and easy to navigate). If I was to return to Berlin I would not hesitate in staying here again.
"Not worth it."
Very disappointing. Hotel restaurant Alto was busy on Friday evening when we arrived and had only one member of staff to work bar and restaurant. She was miserable and flustered, unsurprisingly. It's also closed for lunches, which is not communicated to guests. Pool was cold. No bathrobes or slippers in rooms unless requested. Manager was unapologetic when we complained about the restaurant being closed, and had to trudge into snow to get food. Plus, hotel was very low occupancy and still would extend our room to 2pm even tho they admitted no one was using it after us! Expensive and not worth it. Location not great for anything but check point Charlie. Stay at Hilton in Gendarmenmarkt! Or Alexanderplarz - tourist buses main stops are all here!
Staff was very accommodating and friendly!!We arrived early at the hotel and our room was not ready, so they gave us a free upgrade to a room that was. Hotel itself was clean, and modern. Food was great! Would recommend!
The hotel was easy to find. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and spacious with everything we required. It was good to have a small kitchen and we were able to buy drinks and snacks from the Aldi which was two minutes walk from the hotel. We didn't have breakfast in hotel so can't comment on that. We did enjoy dinner and drinks in the hotel, the food was good, service was great and all reasonably priced. We also used the spa facilities which were very welcome after a day out in Berlin (especially since it was sub zero temp outside). The pool wasn't huge but it was adequate. The reception and lounge of hotel were cosy with a nice open fire to warm ourselves at. The hotel was very well placed to visit some of the major places of interest and we walked to them all. I would certainly highly recommend this hotel and hope to return again hopefully in warmer weather when we can sit outside in the nice terrace. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay thank you .
