of TripAdvisor Travelers recommend this hotel
We stayed at this hotel for two nights at the beginning of Easter. We had booked a spa suite which was lovely. The hotel was well situated in Hvar, and although a very small island, the hotel still had prime views of the bay. Breakfast was served with a view of the bay. Breakfast was varied, with many fresh produce. We had dinner in the Top bar, and it was the one of the best steaks I have ever had, would highly recommend eating here, and we had cocktails in the evening, again with beautiful views over Hvar. Would highly recommend the hotel.
"Highest professional standard"
We stayed for two nights "off season" and had a fantastic experience. Do not expect the personal touch, but service is of the highest standard. From check-in to check-out, with many highlights in between. The breakfast is fantastic. Choice and quality. Even bubbles and 6 varieties of grappa. The in-door swimming pool: big, a little cold to get in, but really great. The view from the rooftop bar: the best view on Hvar. We took a room with view on the harbour and city and do not regret it. This was also great value for money taken the quality and location. Of course, off season :).
"Really enjoy the stay"
In addition to the perfect location in Hvar harbor, the staff is just outstanding We don't realize the hotel is not accessible by the car, just like the other hotels around the harbor, The staff came to our car in the city parking lot and transport our luggages to the hotel and show us where to park We really appreciate the extraordinary services provided by the hotel
"Nice shopfront but some faults under the covers....."
This is a nice hotel, particularly by Croatian standards, but has some flaws. First the good.... Welcome drink. Clean. Well presented food. Great view over harbour etc. Friendly chatty staff. Family jacuzzi in some rooms. Use of sister hotel Amfora pools and kids water slide. Free wifi. Not so good.... The noise from the harbour is evident and the acoustics of the town and water means this hotel gets all the noise on party nights. (Sister hotel amfora is quieter). The fixtures and fittings are a bit messy. e.g. The mosaic around the pool looks ok from a distance but see my close-up pic. the tiles are flaking off. The relaxing chairs in the top bar have sharp damaged bits just waiting to slice someones arm or neck. (see pic). The pool is salt water so will irritate freshly shaved skin. Most the inset lights around the hotel are badly fitted and light escapes around the edge of them (see pic). I could have included many bad or dirty fixtures and fittings photos throughout the hotel. I also included a pic of some broken glass ornament on the outside of the hotel. Our jacuzzi plug mechanism didnt work meaning the plug had to be prised open each time to let the water out. We had a flower in our room which upon arrival was rotten and smelly. While we were there, there was a massive sailing regatta party complete with traditional chanting band in the hotel at the expense of other guests. it went on until 3am and even after we could hear them tidying up. We complained (along with most other guests) and got a free night. We did receive a free cava and a letter on the day stating there will be a gala dinner and the pool would be shut. They weren't honest in that it was going to be a lot worse than that! Had they not offered me compensation my review would have been a little more spikey! I am not sure how most people feel about the hotel owners and management being ever present, but I find it a bit arrogant. One conversation at breakfast between an owner and her breakfast guest about the hotel, its clientele and future plans was deliberately loud so that everyone knew she was an owner. The posh manager lady also kept on welcoming us and asking how our stay is in front of the reception and other staff, but I think the other staff should be more than capable of doing that. So overall you should have a good experience here but it will probably not be perfect due to the noise if you are staying in high season / party nights.
"Two wonderful days"
This modern property benefits from it's superb location on the harbourside in Hvar Town and therefore close to all the shops bars restaurants and nightlife here. Many of the rooms have this wonderful view. There s a warm welcome on arrival which includes a glass of fizz and a cool towel. Rooms are as bijou as the hotel itself (just 59 rooms), but they are comfortable and well appointed. Bathrooms are similarly tiny, but well designed. There's a great restaurant on the lobby level and a fabulous roof top bar. The hotel has a tiny footprint, so the pool is on the roof and during my visit, the glass roof was closed, since it was very early in the season.
