A fantastic hotel, the room was very nice. Would have preferred a sea view but that said and done, very very nice.Comment of H. Neil , United Arab Emirates the 2014-06-16
My wife and I have been visiting the Al Qasr a couple of times already for the last few years and we were always astonished about the service and overall customer exerience this Hotel offers. This time, we went for the first time with our 18 month old toddler and we were a bit worried if everything wound run as smoothly as on our previous (single times) stays. We arrived at 07am in the morning at DXB, where the Hotel limousine picked us up within minutes after arrival...with a child seat! Since we arrived at around 08am at the hotel and having had in mind that the official check-in times are 15.00pm, we were prepared to spend half a day outside at the pool or beach until our room was ready. The reception desk however offered us to check-in temporarly into another room until our actual room is ready. As we did not ask for an early check-in, this was a very much appreciated gesture, especially with a sleeping baby after a long flight. On the first evening, the Hotel has sent some warm milk to our room for the baby's evening bottle. Very much appreciated! Having known the Al Qasr as "singles" where you can find a nice romantic getaway with your wife, we have noticed how Family friendly this Hotel actually is, once we were there with our toddler. Sindbad's kids club, which offers great fun for big and small kids, child seats in every restaurant, sandy beaches and quite shallow waters, Wild Wadi's Water Park right next to the Hotel (accessible though the hotel's golf-carts) and overall very child-friendly staff make this Hotel our personal favorite. There are cheaper Hotels indeed, but we are happy to spend a bit more for the service quality, infrastructure and location that we get in this Hotel.
"Best lunch ever!"
Went here in november 2014! We booked the lunch at Al Qasr! It was the best and most exclusive lunch I have ever been to. Icesculptures and everything. The food was great! You could drink as much as you could. This was really an experience!!
"Excellent hotel, but not without flaws"
This hotel is part of the Madinat Jumeirah beach resort. It is a huge complex of luxury hotels where each hotel has a unique design. There are more then 50 restaurants and bars within the resort, spas, gyms, pools and naturally private beaches. Complimentary perks include Wild Wadi water park free entrance or hotel buggies and water taxis to get around the complex. We really appreciated the complimentary drinking water. Al Qasr hotel is modelled on a Sheikh’s summer residence, a combination of traditional royal architecture and luxurious modernity. The hotel surrounded by water canals and perfectly manicured gardens. Inside there are glittering chandeliers, perfectly polished marble floors and mirrors, hundreds of freshly cut flowers, and an army of staff - all the bells and whistles of a luxury hotel. The white sandy beach is clean and the sea is beautifully turquoise and perfect for a pleasant dip. The view of the Burj Al Arab is spectacular. Our room was spacious, it was on the ground level, so there was no view to speak of just the lush vegetation. We didn't spend much time in the room anyway, so we were not bothered by it. Next to the hotel is the 'Traditional Souk Madinat' which is actually a small shopping mall dressed up to look 'Faux arabic'. The food in the (many) restaurants is ok, however given everything is staggeringly expensive, it not quite what you hoped for. While the breakfast buffet is very extensive, it's not so different to an upscale business hotel like a Conrad or Hyatt. We found that the army of staff was the weakest link in this well oiled machine. Although unfailingly polite, professional and helpful, standards do sometimes slip. Check-in was too long and didn't provide a great deal of information about the hotel. When we enquired about our airport transfer, we were told that there is no need to book, just rock up. While checking out we found out our transfer was already booked, but four hours before our flight, which was taking caution too far. Conversely, after inquiring about booking a table in the Thai restaurant, we received three notes and a phone call to ensure we got the reservation confirmation. Overall it seemed that the right hand doesn't always know what the left hand is doing. That said, this is a great hotel. It must be incredibly hard to run a huge place to such high standards. Next time we will aim to stay somewhere a bit smaller.
Al Qasr is the best hotel in Dubai. Beautiful sea views, excellent infrastructure, access to Wild Wadi, access to othe hotels' areas - including neewly opened Al Naseem. Next to Burj Al Arab - stunnig view day and night. Al Qasr's Friday brunch is also one of the best and mist visited in Dubai. Pricey but worth it. So why "only" 3 stars' For the second time in a row I experienced and absolutely below standard and below expected Reception area - during check-in as well as during stay. The staff there is really horribley trained unfortunately. Slow and not attending to inquiries. "The right hand does not seem to know what the left hand is doing". Really a sad experience. Other than that - clean 5 Stars.
Such a beautiful hotel next to the Madinat Jumeriah. We had such a lovely time soaking up the sea views during our afternoon tea here. There was so much fine food and rink available we felt so spoiled, and loved every minute. The decor is fabulous and luxurious, and the staff friendly and profesional.
