We stayed at the aloft whilst in Abu Dhabi for the Grand Prix. Being outside the city, transfer to the circuit was shorter and a little cheaper. The roof top bar/restaurant is lovely with great views One gripe - one night there was a pool party (c£30 pp) but because of this rooftop bar closed so residents had limited choice for dining and bar - indoor rooftop bar very smoky Close to the Grand Mosque Doesn't have the "happy hour" offer sofa some city centre hotels so can work out a little pricey Not great deal by way of restaurants locally
"Excellent for Business and Pleasure if it is short stay"
The Hotel located opposite the Abu Dhabi Trade Show is Excellent for Business and for pleasure if it is a a short stay. It does not have a luxurious, lobby or fancy restaurants and bars but what it lacks in that department, it makes up for in cosy comfortable rooms. The shower is a big part of my experience in any hotel and i score it a high 8. The corridor carpet on the 6th floor was dump and not smelling fresh unfortunately. The staff are polite, kind and hospitable. Being a Formula 1 weekend, the hotel was full to capacity as was all of Abu Dhabi but the staff ensured we had excellent service and a wonderful experience. Together with my travelling party, being a Grand Prix Weekend punctuated with Music Concerts each night, it meant that we returned to the hotel in the wee hours of the morning each night. The Breakfast is Good but not Great. I like the hotel's concept of a pick and go snack area at the lobby which is open 24 hours. It means at any time of the night, you can grab something to snack without the long wait usually associated with room service. The small tiny but cosy bar offers complimentary nuts and pop corn and when you order for a seat down meal from the pick and go snack area, you can eat your food at the bar. The beauty about this snatch and go area is that when you have an early flight and have to check out before the breakfast opening time, your breakfast is prepared and you can pick up a take away park as you check out. The Hotel offers complimentary Wifi which now almost goes without saying for most hotels.
"Shah Rais is the best!!"
I have stayed at plenty of Alofts around the world but this one stands out due to their excellent customer service!! When i checked in, the duty manager Mr. Shah Rais personally came out to welcome me to the property!! That was quite a neat gesture of hospitality.. He was absolutely great and that was what made my brief stay so memorable.. It is a perfect example of setting the right tone at checkin so the guests feel welcome to the hotel! He was extremely helpful and offered a personlized level of service that was completely unmatched by any other SPG hotel i have stayed in (and being a platinum member, i have stayed in plenty of SPG hotels)! The hotel itself was ideally located for a trade show taking place at ADNEC, so that was a major factor in choosing this hotel.. The breakfast spread was extremely wondeful with great variety and quality of food! Aloft is certainly a chic hotel that attracts quite a young and hip crowd and is definitely a very upbeat place to be.. Overall, quite a good hotel which i would give 4 star if it was not for stellar service by Mr. Shah Rais which makes it a solid 5 start top notch property in my experience!!
"Really nice stay"
Wonderful hotel! I would like to highlight the awesome swimming pool and the magnificent service provided by Karen at Front Desk which made my stay better. Highly recommended if you want to visit the Grand Mosque
