"Clean, nice, yet only basic."
Great hotel for the city explorers of bizz travelers that need a good sleep, super shower, and near to EU and subway/railway Shuman station. This Aloft hotel is modern, has a hip cocktail bar and great bedding/bathroom. So the basics are covered and applauded. Staff is awesome and service oriented to a fault. Will return for sure! But... no restaurant here! Breakfast can be reserved for 12.5 euro so you can use a basic buffet. No kitchen so first come first serve. I missed the warm eggs twice alreafy before 9 AM so that sucked big time. But for fresh bread, toast, croissant and juice you're good to go. There's also a kind of kiosk that features cooles fresh salads and microwave meals. Not my cuppa. Dinner time' Walk along the park Leopold towards Place Jourdan. You'll find a Square with lots and lots of nice small restaurants in almost all flavors. I went to a Vietnamese restaurant and had an awesome meal. At the end of the square you'll find the most famous Belgian fries baker Maison Antoine. Arguably the best fries in Brussels/Belgium/Europe/World. Prepare to wait in line there ;)
"A good choice"
The location is close to the Schuman metro station which made it perfect for moving around the city. My Room 708 was clean, quiet and comfortable. Good internet connection. So it met all my needs for a business trip.
"Late arrival, early start"
This hotel is in the center of the European institutions. I arrived after 11 pm from airport by bus 21. The bus stop was just opposite the hotel, after stop in Place Schuman. Hotel is ok business hotel, I had some problems with finding snacks near hotel. Was saved by the hotel bar. Breakfast, room and service was ok.
"Excellent hotel in mid segment"
I stayed for one night at the aloft hotel. The hotel is situated 10 minutes away from Railway station and its heart of the city. The room was spacious and modern, but well-equipped and the Hotel was smart and welcome experience was amazing .
"Sofitel vs. Aloft"
Sofitel and Aloft are close to each other and the Commission conference centre. I have stayed in both several times and here's a short comparison: Price Sofitel is usually more expensive - not that Aloft would be cheap either. Location Sofitel has slightly better location because it's facing the square in front of it. It's also just next door to the Conference Centre. Feel & ambiance Aloft has a younger ambiance that the bit stuffy Sofitel. Rooms Aloft has much better room particularly because you do not have to climb into a bath tub to take a shower. Also the rooms are bigger than those in Sofitel. Breakfast Sofitel takes a lead here - school canteen breakfast at Aloft may not be what one expects fro. A hotel at these prices. The breakfast in Sofitel is noting special but in comparison it wins this round. Summary I personally like Aloft more because the rooms and more up-to-date look & feel.
