"The Future for Hotels"
Can't fault this hotel, everything went exactly to plan. Even accommodated a very early check after arriving at LCY early in the morning. This hotel has a very young, fresh, modern and relaxed feel about it. If this is the future of hotels, I like it. the polar opposite of a stuffy hotel.Friendly staff, immaculate rooms, modern facilities, very funky! Also, best sleep I've had in months. Right next to a DLR stop & 10 minutes walk from LCY. Great job guys, well done. Not only would I have no hesitation in going back, I'd positively seek it out. I see some reviews mentioning a request for photo ID, I was asked for it (partner wasn't), Not a problem, we were flying so prepared with that anyway.
My wife and I booked into The Aloft for three nights. Bruno at the reception desk was friendly and helpful and we checked in very quickly. The hotel is very colourful and spacious and our room had everything we could ask for. Wonderful King sized bed, a fridge, safe, powerful walk in shower, a desk, seating area and tea and coffee making facilities. We are both vegan and were delighted to find the hotel had an abundant supply of soya milk. One of the girls at breakfast time made sure our supply was plentiful. It really means a great deal to us and her friendliness, and work ethic ensured we had a great start to the day. Breakfast was fantastic with so many choices, I felt I had to thank the Chef and staff for being so attentive and personable . The hotel is linked to The Excel and DLR is only a minute away to ensure good transport links to the City. We were both very sorry to leave and think it was the best hotel we have stayed in. Thank you so much to each and every one of you for making our stay so memorable. We will definitely come back to The Aloft!!
"Hotel lovely but staff not helpful when needed"
Modern hotel, rooms are small but modern and well set out. Main gripe I'd say is not really anywhere to sit comfortably, especially to watch TV. Ate in the restaurant, not worth the money, staff more interested in chatting with friends, possibly because it was quiet, but meant they were disinterested in the few guests. As my Doubletree review - worth trying the Fox, reasonable pub food. My main gripe with the hotel is that a friend had joined me for dinner, and asked me to add parking to my bill. I forgot; when they rang the hotel they were told to contact the parking company. Parking company said they can't do anything, "you have to go back to the hotel to pay in person" or pay the fine! Somewhat surreal, just fortunate we were able to get back that day - why couldn't they have taken payment over the phone' On parking, it is expensive (£16) so my tip (having stayed at the Doubletree a couple of times) is to use the car park there or Premier Inn, both Excel managed, and free from 5.30pm to 9.30am - even the full day rate is cheaper than overnight at Aloft. Shame, need less to say I've not been back.
"Secound Aloft in two months "
Had a late meeting in london in Stratford .So Booked the aloft after a pleasant experience in the aloft Munich.parking is ample and location is on the doorstep of the excel exhibition centre. There is a charge for parking as expected .Check in was straight forward. I was upgraded and the room , well spacious ,Nespresso machine ,shower spotless. The bed was king size and again firm supportive mattress.Soundproofing was evident considering I am a insomniac. Breakfast was excellent good variety and the view from the even though the weather was overcast was calming .To conclude top marks service cleanliness.staff jeppe,Mia and William are very professional and polite .
Very comfortable rooms, excellent pool. Service was very bad as I got overcharged by mistake several times and I had to phone up to rectify the mistake as it was not identified by the hotel. Be wary of their charging practices.
