"Classic luxury hotel"
Pros: Very comfortable bed, spacious with good, free wifi, large bathroom with both shower and bath tub. Great service. Nice breakfast buffet. Good location in Buenos Aires business district yet also close to many touristic sites. Cons: When I was there the pool was closed for maintenance which I was only told upon arrival. The hotel did offer to use the pool at their sister hotel (Alvear Palace) but being on site for work I did not have time to do so unfortunately. Bar and on-site restaurant a little pricey.
"Modern, Luxurious City Centre Hotel"
The Alvear Art Hotel is a modern, luxurious hotel right in the heart of the city with impeccable service. Check in was efficient and welcoming and our room was a good size, tastefully decorated and containing a Mini bar, 2 comfy chairs, small table, desk +chair. Huge amount of wardrobe space with wooden hangers completed the picture.. Everything was in excellent condition. The bathroom had bath, a large shower cubicle with overhead and wand showers plus a separate cubicle containing the toilet and bidet. Good toiletries were supplied and soft, ground level lighting was available at night to allow easy trip to toilet (switched by bed). An electrically operated blackout blind on the window was controlled by switch by the bed. The bed itself was very comfortable and the bedding smooth and cool. The air-conditioning was effective and unobtrusive. The lighting had a fade action. Street noise was low (we were in a studio room on 7th floor). Downstairs the was Bar stylish with good lunch deal. We were given a 25% discount card for restaurant and I can report that the food was good. Portions were generous, tasty and nicely presented. Staff were universally good and the hotel lived up to its name having a selection of original South American art on display. The top floor contains a superb pool complex with amazing views over the city. If you are taking a taxi back to this hotel make sure the driver understand where you want to go as we had two instances of drivers trying to take us to the Alvear Palace Hotel (the even more upmarket sibling of the Art Hotel) - a map helps.
Brand new hotel! Excellent service, infrastructure and food! The location is perfect for business trips. Walking distance to most of business offices and the Sheraton Convention Center. Also relatively close to nice Puerto Madero. The water from the shower is a bit smelly, but this is probably a problem from the eater supply. The Spa is great! Dry and humid Sauna and very nice swimming pool on the rooftop.
"Here to watch my son play soccer"
Very clean, comfortable and accommodating. Good breakfast and reasonable price. Location is good in Recoleta. Downside is they have no money exchange. Walking distance to many attractions and historical places.
"great place to stay"
We stayed for 4 days during our first trip to Buenos Aires. It was a great location within walking and cycling distance of most of the major attractions and great shopping and restaurants. Staff was very friendly and helpful. After a long day of cycling / walking I took in a massage and and steam/sauna which was decadent. I get weekly massages in my home city, so I have high expectations :) and was not disappointed. The whole spa/pool level is lovely and relaxing
