"Beautiful, modern hotel centrally located"
The Alvear Art Hotel is very modern, the lobby is filled with beautiful art and sculptures. Our room had a very nice city view. The furnishings, amenities all first rate and the king bed extremely comfortable. The staff, from doorman to room housekeeping, are friendly and helpful. The Concierge at the Art was able to get us reservations for Tango Rojo, a fantastic dance show. I would highly recommend the Alvear to anyone traveling to Buenos Aires.
"Great stay for a city trip, excellent staff"
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff (especially Delfina at the front desk) went the extra mile to give us a comfortable stay. We really enjoyed it and would be happy to come back next time we visit Buenos Aires
"Pleasantly surprised "
I visited the property this past week. Anyone who has stayed at the one of a kind Alvear Palace will be able to recognize the same quality and attention to detail. The hotel is very comfortable, it is very well located for business purposes and if you are just visiting and don't mind to walk a few blocks you will get a top notch property for a moderate price.
"Excellent base for exploring Buenos Aires"
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in March 2017. The hotel is very clean, new, with high quality marbles and other materials in the common areas. We got a nice free bottle of wine with cheese as a gift upon arrival. The roof pool gives amazing views day or evening from the 17th floor. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk time from the subway (Subte), about 10-15 minutes from Florida (shopping street), about 10-15 minutes from the obelisk. We did not feel unsafe on the streets around the hotel. On Florida there are lots of people who are looking to exchange currency, but they are not aggressive (not touching you or following you) - just stay alert and enjoy. We did not wander on side streets too much. The only item I wish were better was the extra bed - too hard and uneven.
"Alvear Art Hotel Buenos Aires"
Stayed three nights in January 2017. The hotel is classed as 5 star and is located in the business district. From a tourists point of view it is probably not an ideal location. Having said that it is only a fifteen minute walk to the river and its port area. This port area (Puerto Madero) has recently been transformed with cafes and bars and is worth a visit. We had steaks and wine in a water front restaurant which were excellent and were cheap. The hotel has good size rooms with decent bathrooms. There are safes in the rooms as well as free wi fi. We had dinner in the hotel and were pleased with the quality of the food and wines and impressed with the reasonable prices. You get a lot more bang for your buck in Argentina than you do in Brazil (our next stop). The staff were efficient and pleasant. Buenos Aires is a huge city and there are many places to stay. If you are not bothered about having to get taxi rides to the more cultural / tourist areas then this hotel is easily recommended.
