"I reocmmend this hotel anytime"
Almost perfect location. Big clean rooms. Friendly staff. Great Breakfast. Short walk to the historical old city of Marbella. Private beach with bar. Rooftop bar for romantic sunsets. Nothing is perfect but in this case the hotel is not to blame. Reaching it by car is a problem. The road the hotel is on cannot be crossed to the beach sidefor at least a kilometer in each direction. So if you cannot work out a backstreet way through Marbella you are forced to go about a kilometer westwards to find a city block to go around to get onto the other (beach) side of the street. The address of the hotel is fictitious and your car navigation will always bring you out on the wrong side of the road. Then, when you finally get to the hotel the slip road will most probably be blocked by cars offloading people or doing shopping (at a leisurely pace). When this obstacle is overcome, getting into the parking garage under the hotel is a nightmare. The rent-a-car company across the road will have double and triple parked and you will not be able to access the underground garage without three or four reverse maneuvers. If you have any size car bigger than a compact, navigating the underground parking is done to the millimeter - or else you will need a paint job. But besides this, this is a fabulous hotel.
"Very Good Hotel, a little away from the Action"
Though on the promenade, the Amare is bit away from the action...nightclubs, restaurants, and bars. But the action is probably only 1 - 1 1/2kms away along the promenade. Location and the fact that a/c was not available are 2 reasons this place does not get a 5 from me. The rooms can get very warm in the afternoon even in March and the a/c is not turned on until later in the season. This hotel is not my style...a bit too much Euro flash for my taste. But it is clean, bright and stylish. Parking at Euro 15 per night is probably average for this area. There is a very nice water spa within the hotel which we had free access to as part of our deal, but it could be extra for others. There is a very nice pool area and gym. The breakfast buffet, included in my deal, was among the best I've ever had...and I have been a business traveler for nearly 40 years. Service was good. I recommend as a good value. Adults only.
"Best Hotel I've been to in Spain"
Just back from a weekend break at the Amare & I was blown away! Really great hotel-lovely rooms-fantastic staff. Normally in Marbella I have found staff at hotels & in shops to be surly & unfriendly at best-not here-all the staff were really top notch.Friendly, welcoming quick to check you in & check out. We had an Oh La La room which was really fantastic with a sea view balcony-only criticism is it could do with a sun lounger as well as chairs. If you are driving it's a bit tricky to find the entrance to the car park & I'm glad my husband drove because I would have really struggled as it it so tight getting in & out of the car park-if you are in a big car you would really struggle. Sun loungers round the pool & on the beach though with plenty of them so lots of choice with staff waiting on with drinks & food all day long. I'm sorry I could only go for 2 days but we decided we loved it so much we want to again very soon. I highly recommend-this hotel is far beyond what you expect...& that doesn't usually happen! 5 star service all round.
"Great location and fantastic staff"
We stayed for 6 nights and this hotel is very nice. It's a great location on the promenade and beach and it's easy to walk to the nearby old town and nearby restaurants. The staff were absolutely fantastic. They were knowledgable, helpful and very accommodating. They made excellent recommendations for lunch and supper every day. The hotel spa was a little disappointing as there is one small hydro pool a jacuzzi which isn't very warm and a sauna. It was a nice facility but not somewhere you could spend all day as you would at a spa in England. Overall the hotel was very nice and I would recommend it.
We will return to the Amare this year for our twelfth consecutive visit. The recent name change and refurbishment have made a very good hotel into an excellent one. The bedrooms are consistently clean. The breakfast is one of the best. The beach restaurant is good. The comfort on the beach is good apart from the loud music but maybe that's your thing. The location is excellent: go out the back door and you are on the promenade and beach and go out the front door and you are on the Main Street about 10 minutes stroll from the town centre or Orange Square with all its restaurants. We haven't found a better hotel in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Florida or Ireland.
