"Oldy Hotel in Pattaya"
There are 2 Amari hotels in Pattaya, they are just a corner apart. So, it can be quite confusing. Amari Garden locates just before a cornered road to North Pattaya. Amari Ocean is just after the corner. I stayed at the former, Amari Garden. Amari Garden is a 4 stories hotel, with no elevator. The hotel has to wings, a big garden, a big pool, and a big restaurant. It takes about 5 minutes to walk from Amari Garden to the beach through Amari Ocean. The hotel is very old fashion. I think it is as it was build long time ago so the design, facilities, and equipments are also not in a modern condition. Do not expect nice room, nor bathroom, here. The towels and everything also look like they has been used for years. Yet, they are clean and not stinky. The service is nice though. Staff are very friendly and attentive. The breakfast is superb. They is a huge line of breakfast, with variety of foods. You can simply get your bread, butter, sausages, and eggs as normal. But you can also find Thai dishes, dim sum, boiled rice, congee, salmon with sour cream, and so on. Fruit juices here are real fresh fruit juice.
"Love it here "
It's October and it's a quick trip, I love the Amari Garden, it's big, it's clean, and the staff are friendly and classy. I've stayed in many places but this is lovely, the pool is great and clean. I under estimated the sun yesterday and have been burnt badly however fresh natural yoghurt has helped from the kitchen. Thank you The rooms are older but still kept well. They room service is good too. Right now it's expensive in pattaya prices are up and the The baht is 42.5 to the gbp. Normally around 52.5 - 55 at the local TT exchange but that's brexit for you.
"Not as good as it used to be/ women harassed by groups of males "
My husband and I have been to Amari many times over the last 8 years. We have always been treated warmly and made to feel welcome. We usually stay in the ocean tower but on this occasion we decided to stay in the garden wing as we had extra family staying with us. Amari has recently had new management and unfortunately a decline in service showed through their staff from the moment we checked in. The reception staff were showing signs of stress and were not welcoming. They were clearly in a bad mood and They rushed through the checkin in process. They did not give me the correct rooms and I had to argue with them that I had a platinum status which was on the booking details and is a rewards system that included certain upgrades for loyalty and many stays in the past. After I finally sorted this out I asked if I could visit the horizon club in the ocean tower as I usually do as a platinum member for a coffee and watch the sunset over the bay as I have on every other occasion but I was told flat out that I could not because I booked in the garden wing and not the ocean tower this trip. The garden wing is on the same grounds as the ocean tower and is the same hotel just a different side that is older than the ocean tower. As a platinum rewards member I am allowed the privilege and appreciate the benefit greatly but just because I booked on the older side this trip I was excluded. Talk about two faces! That is like saying the people staying in the ocean tower can't use the big pool because it's on the garden wing side. Very petty. As I have stayed many times and earned my status as a platinum member I felt like I was been treated like a vagabond. After a few days and a few emails they finally saw the light and offered to let me into the lounge but by then I was already disappointed and was made to feel unwelcome so I did not accept their late offer. I just wanted them to understand how ridiculous it was to treat a repeat customer like this because he booked a different wing even though he still has the platinum status. Unfortunate because now they have lost me as a customer in the ocean tower and the garden wing all over a very simple courtesy. We were also very annoyed at Amari hotel letting large groups of Indian men, up to 20 per group stay in the hotel and Harass the women by the pool and in the corridors. We witnessed large groups of the men move in around the pool and sit in big groups next to single women perving on them with no shame. They would pretend to take photos of their friends but the cameras were clearly pointed at the women. They would walk up and down pool side taking photos of women on the pool beds. One group followed a single European women from the hotel all the way into the pool and surrounded her and We had to intervene and send them away and escort the girl back to her room. This has never happened in the past but our last trip it did. The Indian groups of males would yell and scream, bang doors in the corridors at 2am in the morning and act disgracefully. I have many Indian friends who are good people and clearly a different class who agreed with us that the behaviour of the groups of Indian males at the was dangerous appalling. Amari Pattaya you have to get this under control! This Amari Pattaya hotel used to be operated very well in the past but unfortunately has gone down hill. Such a shame.
Had a wonderful stay at Amari Garden. This hotel has good rooms, courteous staff, wonderful pool to swim and rest at pool side ....if you love swimming and drinks, they have a bar in the pool as well ... they organize activities like zumba, painting for kids etc on daily basis... next to Pattaya beach, it's location is nice as well ... approx a km from Walking Street... I loved my stay there and would love to go back there.
"No Value for Money"
The AMARI Garden is old Property. The Rooms are very small needs proper improvement. Location is very good. The open space is very good. Rooms are not value for money. The Rooms are like three Star Hotel Room. The Hotel does not have lift also. The breakfast is also not upto the mark. Overall I will not recommend this hotel.
