"Perfect for short break"
I booked this break with Wowcher and they asked if I would rather this hotel or their other one (Delfino), I said Delfino, but when I got there they moved us to this one. Wasn't overly bothered as this one was just as nice! Nice modern room, bus stop right opposite hotel making it easy to get to Venice centre and we found a nice town further down from the hotel. The hotel is VERY noisy! We had to move rooms as work was going on above ours and waking us up at 8am every morning, and being on a break we wanted a slight lay in! The move didn't really help as we still has people running around, banging etc outside our room at 7am. You can literally hear everything, but our room was a bit bigger and we had some english channels on this TV! The ladies on reception are very helpful and Johnno (I think his name was!) in the lobby bar as lovely, as well as a young man in the restaurant. The bus tickets can be purchased for 40 Euros for all day, these can be used for the water buses to. Venice is a lovely place! I would cone again but I would mention the noise before booking to see if we could get a quiet room. I'm sure they could try to accommodate!
"Very loud. Wifi infuriating. Good location"
Hotel is well located off the island but easily accessible via 4L bus across the road. Tickets can be purchased at reception for ease. Supermarket close by and some small cafés etc. Walking distance to Mestre station. Hotel was decently clean and modern. We were glad to also have a mini fridge in the room. Restaurant and bar on site. Room service available. However our stay was not without issues. We had construction work wake us before 9 on Friday morning. Sounded like the room next to us being built! This also meant we couldn't enjoy our room during the day due to the constant hammering. Can hear a lot from the other rooms eg. Toilet seat being put down. Other guests were extremely inconsiderate (not the hotels fault) at night and early in the morning, having very loud conversations and even arguments in the hall. We had terrible issues with the wifi, which seems to service Ambasciatori and Delfino next door but can't keep up with the demand. It was painfully slow (hark back to dial up) and would constantly drop out or not let you log in at all. I heard several people complaining so the staff are aware, guess management just don't care to do anything about it. Premium wifi available for a daily fee but can't vouch for quality as we gave up. Also who needs a three sided mirror in the bathroom' Just when my self esteem was improving!
"new year break "
Upon arrival we we're greeted by what you would call a funeral director very straight faced He wanted us to leave our credit card in case we were to charge anything to the room as we hadn't got one he wanted at least £100 or €100 deposit, not forgetting they charge you city tax as well. Clean but over priced on main road so noisy at night, breakfast not that good cold scrambled egg and bacon but lots of cake tho. It cost 13 euros for 2 beers on the plus side only 3 Euro return to Venice and an excellent kebab/pizza place opposite the hotel.
"Last minute booking"
Because of fog we missed a flight home and our travel agents booked us into this hotel. It was just what we needed after a stressful day, quiet clean and comfortable. WE had breakfast and that was fine, particularly as they had to cater for a very mixed group of nations. We would stay here again
"Great Hotel with Excellent Staff"
Our children booked this trip for us, they booked us into this hotel and we were a tad concern as we thought we might be to far away from St Marks Square. However we were really happy to find out about the excellent transport links that Italy has to offer (so much better then London). There was a bus stop out side of the hotel across the road and the bus ran every 10 mins which took us right into the centre where we could pick up the water bus, which again was an excellent service. A tip for anyone visiting for a few days, do by the pass which you usually get at your hotel which is for the bus and water bus and can be used as many times as you wish. Hotel was great, food was good in the restaurant and the Bar Man at the Lobby Bar went out of his way to make you feel at home and made yummy Hot Chocolate and a great G&T. Staff were really helpful at reception when asked for advice. We would definitely return to this hotel. would also like to give a mention to the brilliant Claudio who picked us up from the airport and took us to our hotel we organised this before our visit. He was on time, parked right outside the airport and transport was pristine. Again a really interesting man who was able to give us lots of advice about our tip. I highly recommend his service email@example.com. lastly would like to mention a great little restaurant we found which had amazing food, wine and Italian Brandy. We sat outside and watch the world go by, the staff could not do enough for us, so please visit if you can Osteria alal Bandiera
