This was an excellent stay for us in a great hotel with staff that could do enough for us to make our stay better. 5 stars for the staff.Comment of F. Norman , Australia the 2016-05-24
"Overpriced and underdelivered"
Has been "upgraded" since last visit (some years ago - not before time. So clean & tidy, and shower now has a "hose"; but... Desk removed, so have to drag coffee table to bed in order to work. Lighting at bed abysmal - 8W CF lamp not enough to read by, even after removing the shade. Breakfast coffee cold; and poached eggs ordered medium came hard all 3 mornings Hot buffet ... but plates cold, sucks the heat from the food well before it's finished.. Paying $500 a night, I expect better than this.
"Central and Luxurious"
Great location, excellent facilities and friendly staff. The only reason I didn't rate the Amora 5 stars is because the lifts in the mornings are so incredibly slow. I had to wait 10 minutes to go down 1 floor - incredibly frustrating. That aside it is a great place to stay.
Hotel is well positioned renovated rooms were poor for the rates that where charged we have stayed many times over the past five years and although it was a special Occassion for us we should of taken the basic room as there wasn't any difference
"Not five star"
Advertised as 5 star hotel, but no complementary water in room, no veggies at buffet, Would prefer self-serve coffee and larger cups. Gym is not 5 star quality. Housekeeping did not replace coffee and creamer daily.
While the Amora Jamison is not a five star hotel and is missing some of the amenities of more luxurious hotel there is not much to fault about it. The rooms are very spacious with comfortable beds. I had a corner room on a higher floor so it was a little warm in the afternoon when it was sunny but it was an easy compromise for the views. Room service was nice (one wrong order was quickly corrected) and the staff were very friendly.
