"Warm VIP Treatment"
We were met at the airport by an Anantara Rep that escorted us to a car that provided cold towels and refreshments for the short ride to the Resort. Upon arriving at the Resort, we were escorted to the Lobby where we were again provided cold towels, refreshments, a snack and a jasmine flower lei. What a wonderful introduction! As we were escorted to our room, there was very detailed explanation of the hotel and services. The hotel is simply stunning and picturesque! During the evening we were able to watch some traditional music and dancing at the reflecting lobby pond. Overall the breakfast buffet had a good enough selection for everyone and the food at the Service 1921 Restaurant was excellent. The service was excellent and they first asked if there were any food allergies or things we did not like as they could adapt alot of the menu to accommodate individual preferences. I thought this attention to detail was a nice touch! We were given a brief history of the Restaurant Building and a tour after dinner. Apparently it used to be the British Consulate. What make this Resort special was the staff. They provided VIP service with warmth. Alot of high end resorts are good at treating customers but can come off as cold and snooty. I was amazed at the number of staff that either remembered your name or room number as you ran into them around the property with such wonderful smiles. Beautiful Resort made special by the Staff!
"Amazing Hotel on the river in Chiang Mai"
Stayed here for 5 days as part of our recent trip to Thailand. Wonderful hotel in a great location. Really impressed with the hotel especially after being upgraded to a suite from a premier room. The hotel is beautifully designed with a lots of wood and glass in a modern Asian style. The staff could not do enough for the guests and we really felt valued. The breakfast buffet on the riverside terrace was excellent and the Executive Chef was always present at meal times. We used both the 1921 and Terrace Restaurant for our evening meals and whilst not cheap the standard of food was excellent. The pool area is excellent and the staff provided a constant supply of iced water and cooling face cloths. The hotel is ideally placed within 100 yards of the night market and a wide variety of restaurants. We did a number of tours from the hotel but always made sure we were back in time to enjoy the facilities of the hotel. Loved every minute of our stay here and would recommend this hotel to anyone if you are considering staying in Chiang Mai. After staying at this hotel and the Anantara Riverside Bangkok the hotel group have certainly impressed me
"Great minimalist design in Chaing Mai"
Great design boutique hotel. Wonderful common space.. Restaurant on the river. 1921 the Service restaurant should not be missed. Old Asia feel with a twist. Warning.... Bring an extra flashlight for your room. The designers made it so cool that you can't see anything in the room at night. Shaving is dangerous because of the lack of lighting in the bathroom and dressing areas.
