"Great anniversary trip in blissful place"
The airport transfer to island is very expensive which cost USD 195 Per person. The resorts provides a lounge in airport for the guests while waiting for speedboat transfer. We stayed 2 nights in over water ocean pool villa suite and another 2 night in sunrise villa suite. The property was amazing and matches the photos shown in the website. The room was very clean. After sun lotion is provided. This is great after you have sunburnt. Besides that, the life jacket is provided in every room. Besides that, the staff who called Ameen is very friendly and helpful who guide us around the island before sending us to our villa suite. From the overwater villa, we swim to the opposite Gulhifushi island which takes around 20min. There is a swing in the middle of sea. But the swing is quite hard to climb on. It will be a good idea to put a big stone to step on, easier for couples to climb on the swing. While swim back from the Gulhifushi island, beware of the strong currents. Snorkeling around the Gulhifushi island is a fantastic experience. We spotted a lot colorful fishes at the back of the Gulhifushi island. Recommend to snorkel around the Gulhifushi island for free instead of spending money on the snorkeling tour provided by Aquafanatics. No worries, the snorkeling equipment is complimentary which can be obtained from the Aquafanatics. This is a good amenities offered by the resort. After 2 days, we moved to the sunrise beach villa suite. There was a unfriendly staff who carried our luggage to the buggy. We request him to wait us for a moment while capturing photos around the suite, he shows reluctant. This quite disappoints us while we thought every staff in this island was super nice and friendly. Well, from the sunrise beach villa, the room is not as clean compared to the over water villa. There are sands on the bed. Besides that, there were a lot mosquito on the sunrise beach villa. Recommend to put some mosquito repellent around the villa. Well there are a lot of activites offered in this resort. We took paddling on the surf board for 2 hour which cost around 60 USD. It is a cool experience while you can see fishes through the clear sea during paddling. We also take snorkeling tour which cost 65 USD per person from aquafanatics. From the aquafanatics centre, an honest staff told us not to expect too much from the snorkeling trip. Well, at first, we think this is very rude while we want to book the snorkeling tour. During snorkeling,we didn't see too much colorful or special species of fishes during our snorkeling tour, After we back from the snorkeling tour, yaaaah, recall what the staff told us is quite true . However, it was too lucky during the journey to snorkeling location, we saw a lot of dolphins just in front of us. This is a great experience. The breakfast in Fushi cafe was average. However, there are a lot of mosquito in the Fushi cafe. I get mosquito bites every morning when i having my breakfast. Well, we had our first dinner at 73 Degrees. The food is just nice, while the price is very expensive which cost USD 95 per person. We had our anniversary dinner at Sea, Salt, Fire for the second night. The average cost per person is around USD 110 Per person. The food and view was absolutely nice. The foods in Origami was just average. The staff in Aqua Bar was very friendly. We are having light meals hence just order 1 set of steak burger. The staff was too friendly, help us sliced the steak burger into half, and served in two plates. This is quite sweet. The food in terrazzo is fine. The ambient is very good. Overall, Anantara Dhigu resort gives us a great experience in Maldives. Recommended to stay in overwater villa!!
"Best water villa in asia"
We had our vacation in Maldives and we stayed in Anantara Dhigu Maldives. We had a 35 minutes boat ride from Male airport. We arrived the hotel and resort with entrance music from the staff of anantara dhigu. We enjoyed our stay. we stayed at the water villas and we can dip straight from the villa. Cecily, chef jun accommodated us with exceptional quality. Thanks to them we enjoyed our stay.
"Truly blissful 🐠🐢🐟🌴⛱👣😎"
Staying at Anantara Dhigu for 8 days was truly a blissful heavenly experience. The Maldives beauty beholds breathtaking scenery. Every moment melted spontaneously into stunning views of the vivid blue turquoise waters. Location- the best aspect of Anantara Dhigu is the closeness to Male international airport . It's basically a short 30 minute speed boat ride away. Arrival - We were greeted warmly & efficiently at the airport & taken to Anantara's lounge at the airport. Our luggage was also handled with care. Our personal musical warm welcome at the resort was also touching. Villa - Our 129 overwater sunrise villa was the last one on the boardwalk which gave us the best views & heaps of privacy. The villa was super large with every modern facility. We actually adored the bathroom the best. Getting around the resort was not a problem due to having bicycles & a resort buggy at call. Island hopping is easy by using the resort ferry. Restaurants- I dined in all the restaurants of both Dhigu & Veli resorts & all were equally good. The wine is pricey but they do have a good selection. Staff - All were a credit to this establishment. Special thanks to the Aqua bar staff who took care of me whilst my hubby went off to Italy for 5 days. I never felt alone & I loved my Mojito 🍹 ( Riza , Logu , Ramu , Sorthik & Munhid ) 🙏🏽 Spa - fabulous. Special note to Dome who's professionalism was outstanding. Snorkelling - do the tour as its magical. Good snorkelling can also be found by island hopping. Overall - Dhigu is suited to all. Although a family resort not once did I feel I made the wrong choice as everyone including the kids were all in a happy Maldivian mood. Dhigu resort is luxurious & homely with a warm touch of Maldivian hospitality blended perfectly into paradise.
"Dream Holiday in Paradise"
Stayed in October for two weeks, two adults and two kids age 5 and 8. We stayed in a sunrise beach villa which was ideal and safe for our kids as it was on the lagoon side of the Island. My boys would snorkel daily and be content watching the fishes. A peaceful Island, scenery is just beautiful, simply paradise where you can definitely recharge and relax. Kids club had fun things to do, my boys favourite was learning how to make Sushi. The service on the Island is just amazing. Our room was always perfectly clean, our room boy was friendly Shifaz who always gave us extra beach towels. The outdoor bathroom had the wow factor. Info desk was very informative and gave more than we asked for. We loved the breakfast buffet, the variety of food available was divine. Nat-Cha and Cecily were the perfect hostesses, so down-to-earth, our boys adored them. Daily, they helped us to choose which restaurants to go for dinner. We tried them all and our favourite would have to be “Baan Huraa” the Thai restaturant and the Teppanyaki at Origami, Japanese restaurant. Waiters Schaad and Haneef were great, always entertaining our boys. Had lunch and drinks at the Aqua bar. Spent alot of time here as we did have several days where it just rained. Though it never ruined our day, happy to hang around, played monopoly or watched movies. Waitress/ waiters Riza, Logu and Ali were a delight and knew our favourite drinks and meals after a couple of days. We had an amazing experience which we will never forget, swimming with the Manta rays and dolphins jumping around our boat, these activities were organised with Aquafanatics and we were lucky enough to have Adam and Cat who are such experienced and knowledgeable professional guides. We felt very safe having Cat swim with our 5 year old watching the Mantas. My boys always looked forward to the Volleyball games with the staff, it was full of fun and laughter all around. Josh and Fiona from Tropic surf, our son had a go at surf boarding and loved it. He would pop by daily to have a chat and they were just lovely to him. Special compliment goes to Gauderic, who went far and beyond making sure we were having a great stay. Informing us of interesting things to do on the day and giving us activity tips. We had such a dream holiday and can’t wait to go back. The staff were astounding, genuinely friendly, the send-off by the entire management was overwhelming, we didn't want to leave. Breathtaking views of the Island, great food, what more can you ask for :-)
"Did not get wowed!"
We were disappointed this time around with Anantara, we did not the wow factor and the resort felt tired and worn out. If it is not for the beach and the fish around there is not much above water that will make one say it was worth the money. 1) The mattress in the room was so hard that it was difficult to sleep on 2) The hygiene in the room is very superficial, there was dust and spider webs everywhere (under the bed, on the planks above) 3) Nothing special for the kids other than the kids club ( no pool activities, beach activities) 4) The mosquitoes were very hungry, despite the effort to spray and fumigate the resort daily it remains an issue - TAKE LOTS OF MOSQUITO REPELLENT WITH YOU, MOSQUITO NET FOR THE KIDS TO SLEEP UNDER) 5) There is absolutely no shade at the pool for the kids to play under when in the water Positive - The staff go out of their way to make one comfortable, always friendly and smiling and anticipating needs, we had some great memories of (hope I get the names right - Thess / Melanie / Hamid, Shameem, Najih (Aquatic Bar), The beach guru / Hussein (breakfast) just to name a few. Recommendation - take mosquito repellent with you, if you have kids get rooms next to the kids club (very handy)
