"Vacation of the lifetime..."
It was damn expensive but vacation of the lifetime, every penny we spent worth it. Me and my wife arrived at the resort late at night because of the flight schedule, but staff were there for reception regardless of the rain and time. We stayed at Sunrise villa for four nights, relaxed only woken up in the morning with lovely sound of birds. Room was always kept clean and tidy by very very helpful, cheerful room boy Shukure. Food in all restaurants there were excellent, especially the burger we had at Gulhifushi island (picnic island). Basically, we chose Anantara Dhigu for peace, quiet and relax vacation and we achieved what we were looking for. Every single staff that we met were always cheerful and helpful, that's what this resort makes extra special on top of the property.

"A week in paradise!"
We recently stayed at Anantara Dhigu resort in the Maldives for 7 nights, and we could not have hoped for a more perfect destination to celebrate our honeymoon. We stayed in the Sunset Over Water Suite and found the room to be luxurious and very well maintained. The view from our room was second to none and photos could not do it justice. The only thing for us that made this piece of paradise even more beautiful, were the beautiful staff that we met along the way. We enjoyed each breakfast and many dinners at Fushi restaurant, and we could not have been more impressed with hostess Cecily who made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect holiday experience. We appreciated the fact you took the time to see how we were going each day, and facilitated many memorable dining experiences, including a special Honeymoon DInner. Food at Fushi was outstanding, with a wide selection of fresh seafood, Western and Maldivian dishes. We were also very impressed with our dinners at Terrazo (the Italian restaurant), Sea Fire Salt, 73 degrees (Veli), and Origami (Japanese restaurant on Veli). Issu who cleaned our room each day was also a stand-out staff member. Each day we came back to the room after breakfast, we were amazed by your attention to detail and the little surprises you left for us (including the many amazing towel made creatures, and artwork on the leaves). A highlight from the trip was finding the beautiful rose petal bath you had prepared for us; it was very unexpected but so very much appreciated, we will remember that and your friendly smile for a very long time to come! Other staff members who were particularly attentive and went out of their way to make us feel incredibly special are Hanu, Riyya and Hassan (from Fushi restaurant), Adnan, Ramu and Ali (from Aqua Bar), and Raja (buggy driver who takes the most amazing photos!) Finally, we could not conclude this review without special mention to Gauderic, the island’s resident manager. From arrival he greeted us and made us feel instantly welcome and excited for the holiday ahead. Throughout our stay he made an effort to see how we were enjoying our stay. We appreciated the time taken for long discussions about the island and interesting activities on offer for the day. Our send-off was just as memorable as our arrival, with the longest goodbye wave upon leaving the island…we hope you’ve stopped waving by now! Thank-you again to everyone who made our honeymoon so thoroughly enjoyable and memorable. We cannot recommend this place enough to potential travellers to the Maldives. We hope to see you all again back in paradise!
"Family holiday for 3 weeks"
We returned to the Anantara Dhighu back in July / August for 3 weeks with our 3 young children; it is unquestionably the best family resort we've ever been to. Great kids facilities, amazing food, incredible vibe around the whole resort, the surfing is unbeatable & the people who work there are simply out of this world. It is them who really make this resort stand out as our #1 favourite holiday destination on the planet. Huge thanks to Riyaa who is an absolute legend and looked after us unbelievably well - he is such a great ambassador for the hotel. Also to Xavier, Dome, Natcha, Jully, Joy, Grace and Thess. These people are amazing and individually contributed to us not only having an incredible holiday but also to us wanting to return again for our 3rd time. I hope that they get recognised for being such great ambassadors. See you again soon. All the best, Jim & Claire
"Best Beach Resort I Have Ever Been In My Life!!"
My wife and I just recently returned from an 8 night stay at Anantara Dhigu Maldives and I have to say that Anantara Maldives is without a doubt the best beach resort i have ever been to, and that is saying alot since i have been to many resorts in Bali. What makes our stay so special and memorable is the staff at Anantara. Everyone is friendly and courteous. Our room attendant Waheed took the time to decorate our beds each day with flower petals and even fashioned a swan out of some towels one day, and decorated the bathtub another day. Our diving instructor from Aquafanatics, Ms. Monica Ferrario, was very patient with us and we had a great time learning to dive and receive our Scuba Diver certification. Besides diving, we also took a beginner surfing class at the calm lagoon, our instructor Malcolm, from Tropic Surf, was really great in teaching 2 newbies how to stand on the surfboard and other basics. The staff at the different restaurants were equally friendly as well. Speaking of restaurants, Anantara Dhigu and Veli have some really good restaurants that serves great quality and superb tasting food, we were afraid that we would get bored of the food, being stuck on an island for 8 nights but we were wrong. We tried all the restaurants they had to offer, some up to 3 times, ordering different items from the menu each time, and we were satisfied every time. In the midst of our activities, we allocated some time for an Ayurvedic treatment provided on the resort by Sundari Spa. There, we were introduced to Dr. Avinash, who specializes in Ayurvedic treatment, and explained to us regarding the different energies within ourselves. I always liked to learn something new. He even created a comprehensive and unique diet program for us to work into our lifestyle. The spa treatment itself was heavenly and the facilities were second to none. Design-wise, the resort is immaculate. We can't believe the resort is 15 years old, it being so well maintained. The management is environmentally conscious, which we noticed and we liked very much. The landscaping is gorgeous and there are numerous spots for great pictures, not mentioning witnessing the majestic sunset from different parts of the resort.
