"Enjoyed our time"
This was our first trip to Asia continent, as a time share exchange, and we felt very safe and comfortable here. Almost our favorite thing was the genuine warmth of the people and our welcome. Despite our language limitations, we were easily able to communicate with resort staff, and they were very helpful. Tony in tours, as well as others at that desk, helped us coordinate fun tours and taxi service. The delicious chrysanthemum tea and efficient warm welcome at check-in started our lovely visit. The bed was about the most comfortable ever, and the housekeeping staff did a great job, and also made some cute towel animals for us. Thank you for a great visit!
The Hotel is absolutely lovely. In fact, everything about it is great -- the location, the amenities, the service, et al. The place is away from the busy beach, and there are a wide variety of tours available at the tour desk near the main entrance. If there is one thing we did not like about the hotel, it has to be that Mai Khao Beach is almost always not allowed for swimming. There are flags that serve as signals whether the currents are strong that day or not, but on most days, it's yellow (swim at your own risk). This is easily negated by the fact that we had island hopping tours to Banana Beach, etc. The room that we stayed in did not have its own pool as it was on the third floor, but it was sized like an apartment. It had its own kitchen, dining room, hot tub (separate from the shower), a living room, a balcony, and, of course, a bedroom. The rooms even came with pots, pans, and plates for when we decide to cook. Overall, Anantara Mai Khao has to be the best hotel we've been to in a long time.
"The best vacation resort, so far, period."
I feel so lucky and privileged to get to know this great resort in Phuket. I truly love every single things about this resort, friendliness of all the staffs, cleanliness of the entire facility, tons of cool activities in kids club, huge swimming pool, easy access to Maikhao beach, quiet and relaxing atmosphere, I just can't name them all. Ever since I set my foot here a few years back, I try to come back to Phuket for this resort every 6 months.
"relaxing and pleasant resort"
my 3 days stay in the club was relaxing and pleasant. the chum restaurant has excellent breakfast and dinner menu, from thai food, indian curries to continental menu they pretty decent mix. the ambience of resort is quite and relaxing. greenery sounds of chirping bird, courteous staff, proximity to beach and clean and safe atmosphere are the outstanding feature of the resort. beach though is little violent and location in north of island is far from the main action at patong and Phuket city, which implies expenses on transportation which could be high in private taxi is used, the shuttle of club though is a relief. notably food in club is cheap and stone throwaway grocery shop is another saver.
"Great for families"
After staying in the sister resort (opposite this vacation club), we decided to try the newer Anantara resort. It feels like a mini club med. With activities and kids club. Bicycles, kayaks, table tennis - enough to keep everyone occupied. The pool villa is awesome, equipped w modern amenities and furnished like a home. There are restaurants within the resort, however the food quality was really disappointing especially at THOSE prices. Anyway, there are enough eateries (local & western) right outside the resort and a small mini mart for our meal and drinks supplies. Note that to go to the beach, you will have to cross into their sister resort, which i very much preferred.
