"An amazing and stunning corner of paradise!"
I had the opportunity to make a (too) short stay at the Andara while passing through the area. My room, or should I say rooms was actually a lovely apartment style room with fully equipt kitchen. The staff were just wonderful: smiling, friendly and efficient. This has to be one of the best hotels I've stayed at.
Stayed as a couple here in a single bedroom villa with a private pool for 2 days. The villa is huge. HUGE! The lounge area is enough to house at least a dozen people without seeming too crowded. The sofas are amazing comfort, and there's surround music and/or TV. The balcony attached to the lounge is amazing still. The bedroom is pretty big too. The entire place has this amazing feel of luxury and exclusivity. The bathroom/bathtub were pretty large too. The kitchen, counters, everything was spot on. As big as the villa is, it never feels 'empty, even with just the two of us. The private pool was pretty good too; a flight of stairs up, I took a dip there a couple times. If anything, I'd say the water was kind of cold for my taste, but otherwise, it was pretty satisfying. The main pool, however, was pretty big and seemed quite inviting. We couldn't try it out though because of the 2 days we were there for, it rained non stop for 1. The other day we spent in the room trying out the private pool and just relaxing. The staff were pretty good, helpful all around. Buggy rides were available to the lobby, but our villa was a 3 minute walk. Restaurant was good, but the choices were kind of limited. Overall though, our stay was lovely and I'll come here again with the kids sometime soon.
"Fabulous stay, great villa pool"
My family and I stayed at the Andara in mid-November for 7 nights. We chose the multi-bedroom pool villa, which did not disappoint. We were greeted by resident manager Mr. Christian Acker, a warm touch and he checked in with us to ensure our stay was pleasant and it was. The master bedroom had an outdoor and indoor shower, which was nice. The living room was spacious. And my personal favorite was the larger-than-expected infinity villa pool which I estimate to be something like 48 feet by 17 feet (don't quote me on the exact specs). Having stayed at some of the higher ranked resorts such as Trisara, I purposely stayed at Andara to compare. Both are very comparable, but I think the staff is friendlier at the Andara, especially the genuinely happy buggy (golf cart) drivers that shuttle one to and from the lobby. The restaurant staff at Silk were also incredibly attentive. There was also a security guard stationed outside our villa too, which was a detail I noticed and liked. Kamala is also a better location, depending on one's personal preferences, but I like the livelier, yet cozy location next to Kamala beach and the surrounding quaint vibe neighborhood. The villa pool is the best that I have experienced in Phuket. The public pool located outside the Silk restaurant was also very nice. In my opinion, I think the Trip Advisor rankings should have Andara as the top luxury Phuket hotel. My standard feedback I give to all the hotels in Phuket (not a knock on the Andara) is more mosquito spraying. There was mosquito situation around Phuket probably a bit worse on this trip. So, my advice is to apply plenty of mosquito repellent on oneself while in Phuket. All in all, my family enjoyed our memorable stay at the Andara. Fabulous hotel. And that villa infinity pool was simply the best. Definitely a thumbs up!
"Lovely 2 bedroom villas "
This review is a bit late. But this is our second visit to andara. Both times we got the 2 bedroom pool villas. The villas are huge and decor is really nice. Perfect arrangement if you're traveling with another family or another couple with a kid. The villas are so huge everyone even the guest bedroom is ginormous. Living room is so big you could dance around and throw a party there. Private pool is nice with plenty of deck chairs and an outdoor sofas for everyone. Villas are well maintained and well managed. Service is very good. Kids club albeit small and mostly empty but the staff are pretty good with kids. They actually like kids and actually play with your kids ( unlike staff at some other kids clubs). They have a schedule for activities which are mainly arts and crafts ( good ones too - not just colouring) but since there's no one else there they will accommodate whatever your child wants to do. Main pool is beautiful. The buggys which go down to kamala beach are quite useful - they are pretty much on call and there are a few good local restaurants on the beach. Much better to eat there than at the restaurant. Though the hotel should really consider getting a mobile phone and installing whatsapp so once you're at the beach u can whatsapp the mobile to send for the buggy to come ( since most restaurants have free wifi) but not everyone has a thai phone number to call the hotel. Now for the negatives : Food at the restaurant is very average. The Thai food seems a bit better than the western food. Quite overpriced. Kamala beach is disgusting. Both times I've been. The sand is so dirty. Tons of rubbish all over the place. The water looks murky and filfthy. Andara has their own little beach area where they provide towels and water but the beach area looks like an old construction side. The sand is of fine or white at all. It's pebbly coarse and dirty. Not perfect but overall pretty good. Good choice for an easy resort stay if you have young kids.
Fantastic private and quiet resort. We travelled with our two kids and stayed in residence 611 with our own pool. A must when you have kids! The residence was enormous and very well kept. The entire resort is very well kept. Staff were magnificent including booking external masseuses and pedicures to come to our residence. We ate both at Silk and in room and all times it was brilliant. We made use of the spa again fantastic, gym - very well equipped, tennis court - great for a game with the kids, private transfers - thanks Ali for the water and cool towels, happy hour with Ra - fantastic. We cannot speak highly enough of the effort that the staff go to here. Any issues (which were minor ie how to get music playing to the outside deck or more mozzie coils) were dealt with very quickly and without fuss. We would highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a very relaxing and quiet time away from the hustle and bustle with a little more prestige. Please treat the staff with respect they are so helpful and lovely and some guests are so rude! A please and a thank you goes along way!
