"A little slice of Paradise "
Andara is a beautiful hotel set into the cliffs and within walking distance of Kamala Beach. It is also only about a 15 minute tuk tuk ride from the bustling Patong. The food at Silk was lovely and the service was impeccable. We stayed in 411 which was a bottom pool suite. It overlooks the roof of silk and into the Andaman. When we first arrived we got beautiful flowers and a lovely refreshing drink. Then once we checked in, we were taken by golf cart to our room. The only downfall is that we had to walk up a hill to get to our room if a golf cart ride was not available so it's a bit of a hike. My husband and I had a lovely massage at their spa and it was amazing. The hotel was quiet and our suite was much larger than we expected! Overall it was a lovely experience and while, Phuket was a bit touristy for our taste, Andara provided a bit of solace from the crowds. I highly recommend booking a private charter through Andara and getting off of Phuket to see the other islands. It was truly amazing.
Having been to Thailand several times, we had never been to the infamous Phuket, avoiding the place because it looked very much a place for “pubbers” and “clubbers”. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived in upscale Kamala, on Phuket’s west coast, to this enclosed bay surrounded by lush forested hills, luxurious villa developments perched on the headlands which had amazingly beautiful views of the bay and beyond its winding road. With its quieter pace, instantly we knew we were perfectly placed and unquestionably when arriving at the Andara Resort we knew this was going to be one of our best vacations. And it was. Taking your breath away and taken as whole, Andara Resort was the ultimate South East Asian holiday for us. We wanted a boutique luxury island experience in a quieter location but still with the close option of engaging in some local and tourist movement. It served us perfectly. It gave us the sense of being cocooned in a luxuriously secret valley, a place of heavenly experiences, lush gardens, panoramic views and privacy, whilst capturing the mood of local spirit and tradition. Being only minutes away from the action in Kamala and Surin. We spent 5 days too short, in one of the 3 bedroom Pool Villas which was a definitely a WOW! factor and felt like our own private oasis. The villa was magnificent. It was like we were at our dream home away from home. It was opulent, spacious and luxurious, equipped with all the comforts of home and had an amazing panoramic view of Kamala beach. It was tempting to want to veg out inside this cosy villa all day. We had the absolute privacy of our own pool, where we had trouble finding a good enough reason to swim with anyone else in the main pool. But the temptation for the delicious cocktails served poolside at the chic bar did pull us away every happy hour. The full functional kitchen also meant we could cook up a storm if we wanted to but we opted for the delicious Thai meals at Silk Restaurant instead. This place really is about romance rekindled. Kamala Beach was a surprise. It was very clean, warm and truly captivating. Andara Resort is not a beach front property but don’t let that be a deterrent one bit. My partner and I are beach bummers and have always chosen beachfront properties as a preference, but at Andara Resort it didn’t ruffle our stay at all. The sea views from our pool villa and from the main infinity pool were boasting one of the best views of Kamala beach, which meant your eyes where feasting on the beautiful sea and surroundings all day. Also, Andara owns beach frontage on beautiful Kamala beach, 5 min away by shuttle which they are more than happy to bring you too anytime of the day. A 10 min pleasant stroll otherwise. There you are welcomed with all the comforts and royal treatment is extended. Thailand’s age old relaxation traditions are embraced though out the resort. Whether you are at the spa getting a massage, floating gently in the panoramic infinity pool, dining on the delicious organic island produce at Silk Restaurant or snoozing on your private pool terrace, you’ll find relaxation comes naturally. From the first warm greeting, the service was outstanding that really made our trip memorable. The attention to detail here is palpable. Everyone knows your name, remembers the little nuances of how you like your tea, your omelette cooked etc. The staffs are fantastic and there is nothing contrived about their genuine desire to give you an outstanding experience, making our trip uniquely wonderful. We would especially love to thank Pocky, who always made walking through reception a delight. His charismatic, warm and welcoming personality always had us stopping to have a chat about our day to day activities, like you would with a good friend. Coupled with his professionalism and helpful recommendations, his interaction was valuable and a great reflection of the personable and pleasurable nature of the local people and resort staff. Also we would like to applaud Mr Daniel M. GM, for keeping such a tight ship and running such an amazing establishment so well. Particularly memorable were his effort to check in on us from time to time and our leisurely chat over cocktails one night. A luxe vacation to me is more than opulence, it is a package of sensory delights and experiences that leave you with a lasting impression that remains with you as a cherished memory for years to come, and Andara Resort hit the nail on the head. Ticking all the boxes of a world class 5-star resort and living up to its reputation just like all the locals said “they are the best! No.1.” And much like “Andara” crystals, the Andara Resort is very precious. A heavenly paradise of Peace, Scenic beauty and Cultural Wonder perched atop a hill with glorious views of Kamala bay. For those who want to relax in tropical luxury at a private beach resort, with the influence of thoughtful design, amazing people and passionate attention to detail, this is an excellent choice. It left us both with an ever lasting impact, and I’m sure it will leave you the same way.
"One of the Best!"
This is a fantastic hotel. We have a pool suite which is huge, a small pool of our own and a fabulous view. The service is impeccable and the staff could not be more helpful and friendly. Everything is done as soon as you ask. There is every facility here and a wonderful 35 metre pool to swim in. Several bars and a very good restaurant which is said to be one of the best Thai restaurants in Phuket. The food is certainly very good indeed. I would say this is certainly one of the best hotels we have stayed in and it is highly recommended. Photo attached of main pool.
"One of the Best Hotel in Phuket"
We have visited many hotels in Phuket and this one is definitely one of our favorite if you need to stay close to the city center while experiencing the calm of a villas style retreat in the jungle overlooking the sea. The design of the hotel is amazing with a mix of modern and traditional Thai. Very professional and friendly staff. We will go back!
"Unforgettable Experience - Above and Beyond Expectation"
I can't say enough nice things about this hotel and the staff. I rarely bother to write reviews after trips and yet am so excited to share my experience in hopes that it helps someone choose to give Andara their business, because they deserve it. We booked a poolside room for three couples, expecting nice views and close proximity to the beach. When we arrived after midnight, exhausted from travel, we were immediately given drinks and refreshing towels and told we'd been upgraded to one of the villas. This place was MTV-Cribs-worthy and set the tone for the entire vacation. Incredible hill-side view of the ocean from a stunning infinity pool, palatial estate with so many beautifully designed spaces that our biggest concern was finding our favorite spots to relax. The rooms were enormous with floor to ceiling windows and some of the most cozy bed linens I've ever touched. Everything was always very clean (staff would appear to tidy up usually moments after we left), and fit perfectly with the aesthetic of the entire villa. The staff (Rung took excellent care of us) was easy to interact with and made sure that we always had everything we needed/wanted at a moment's notice. They really treat you like royalty from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Big things that stood out to me beyond the views and the space itself - the staff actually cared about us - whenever we booked an excursion or were planning to be gone for the day, they not only helped coordinate but checked in to make sure we were back safe and comfortable, and always knew where we were going and who with. It was a small touch but noticeable and meant a lot traveling in an unfamiliar country with some language barriers at times. We ate breakfast every day in the hotel restaurant (Silk) as well as ordered lunch or dinner to the villa on various days when we just wanted to kick back and relax. All the food we tried was excellent and well presented, as was the service. Also highly recommend room service here if only to enjoy some delicious Thai cuisine while looking out over the ocean from the rooms, which from our experience had some of the best views not only on the property but in the entire town. The hotel is in very close proximity to the Kamala Beach area, with access to its own private beach spot where the royal treatment continues. They offer free buggy service to pretty much anywhere within the beach/beach town areas as well which made getting around very easy. I'm going to stop the review there because as I read over my words I'm just not sure I'm doing justice to how impressed I was with this place. Just go there. You will not be disappointed and it's worth every penny. Also worth splurging on the nicer rooms if you are on the fence. The villa upgrade was seriously beyond words and well beyond what we expected from an already gorgeous hotel. I will forever recommend Andara to anyone booking a trip to Phuket, and if I ever return myself this is the only hotel I will consider staying at again; no reason to risk anything less than this experience now that I know it's there! Thank you to the Andara resort and everyone on the staff that made our trip so much fun and so memorable.
