I don't know if I would call it a five-star luxury hotel - the furniture is aging in some places and the linoleum floors are interesting - but we had a great stay. The staff is friendly. The hotel is clean. The rooms are pretty big. The bathroom was phenomenal - there's an enormous shower that was great and a large deep soaking tub. I would say that's pretty good for about $200 a night in NYC. Note: the shower and tub are pretty much open to the room. Not a great feature for some people.
Very good service and staff who are very nice and friendly. Its very private. The decor os modern and beautiful. The bathroom as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Its a must . One happy client.
"Fabulous Every Time"
My boyfriend and I stay at the Andaz Wall Street every time we go to New York and aren't staying with friends (6 times and counting!) and we've had nothing but extraordinary experiences. The staff is wonderful, and each and every person there seems to genuinely enjoy their job. I also find the complimentary snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic) in the rooms to be a nice touch, as well as free coffee and tea throughout the day in the lobby, and free wine in the lobby in the evening. The rooms are pretty spacious considering the size of a typical NYC hotel room, with comfortable beds and pillows. The bathrooms are super nice as well, with huge walk-in showers and C.O. Bigelow bath products. I recommend the Andaz to everyone looking for a hotel, in NYC or elsewhere!
Solid stay on a business trip, heater ran all night and made the rooms a bit unbearable but they do have windows that can open. Rooms are nice and roomy for the area. Would recommend to family and friends.
"Off the Wall... and we loved Andaz!"
First time staying at an Andaz property and we really enjoyed it. The room was very spacious, and the furnishings were modern with clean lines - giving it an overall very contemporary feel. The bathroom was huge and the extra large shower was a treat - with both a rain shower feature as well as a hand-held wand. Plenty of towels and bed linens and all were in fresh condition. Bathroom products were top-quality Bigelow - with a lovely mint lavender scent. The room's mini-bar with free soft-drinks was fabulous! It was such a nice amenity to have a cold bottle of water or soft drink available without being gouged like typical mini-bar prices at other hotels. Andaz obviously gets it - giving a "free" bottle of water or soda which costs them maybe .25 cents is a huge CUSTOMER SERVICE investment that is well worth it! Compared to other hotels that may charge several dollars for the same thing, and it really makes Andaz stand out in this regard. These may be small gestures/investments but it is immeasurable IMO towards building good will and eventual brand loyalty. That and the free snacks (granola/candy bars in room, --wine, coffee and cookies downstairs) were truly signs of old-fashioned hospitality. Our experience with customer service was faultless. Like others, we found our room to be a bit warm one day. We called down and literally within 5 minutes a very pleasant maintenance professional showed up. Due to the unseasonably warm winter, he explained the best way/options to cool the room which worked fine for us. We also loved the push-button electronic blackout curtains in the room - helped make for a good nights sleep. I also like that the floors are laminate with only a small area rug in the room. I also think that Andaz is ahead of the hotel pack in this regard; I truly cannot understand why more hotels don't have laminate or tile flooring, as it would keep things much cleaner and avoid stale odors, stained carpeting, etc. The cleaning staff did an optimum job and the front desk team were always helpful. It may be a bit unconventional to have the team members posted around in the lobby with their tablets, but they also usually had at least one person by the "counter" so you were quickly served. Another perk is that this hotel is pet-friendly and is within a short (1-2 block) walk to a couple of small parks. There are a few subway stops within a couple of blocks, however, the hotel is not near the usual touristy areas of NYC - so keep that in mind. All in all, I would definitely stay at the Andaz Wall Street again!
