"pity about the noise"
Two good things about this hotel,The Location and the great staff .The rest forget it. The location in Roma is in easy walking distance to the majority of the main attractions eg 6 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain,5 minute walk toThe Spanish Steps.Unfortunately the hotel is extremely noisy with many hard surfaces amplifying the noise.Rooms are small but well appointed .The bed was rock hard. What city in the World collects their garbage at 1am in the morning right under your bedroom window'' The breakfast area is very small and the hot breakfast is limited and was cold the three days I was there. A REAL PITY. The saving grace was the great staff, very friendly and very helpful.
"Uncomfortable beds, paid wifi, small room, unclean"
First of all, they claim this place is 4 stars. I stayed in 3 star in Paris and that was FAR better than this place. Springs sticking out of the beds. Like a hospital bed, so uncomfortable. The queen bed was as solid as a rock. We all woke up with sore, stiff backs and necks. The wifi was pay per hour. It was slow and I couldn't access anything on their wifi. We went to a local cafe instead. The room was so small. We were crammed in together. Had no room for our bags. The bathroom was small with faulty sink and bath plugs. The cleaning service was cheap and done very quickly. They hardly made our beds and only changed our towels. I won't be staying here again. Airbnb next time I think!
"Nothing like it's photos"
We have just returned from staying in this hotel for four nights - it was dreadful! The first night we were in a tiny room (which is quite normal for large European cities) and on request we were moved to a larger room for the next three nights. However there is no way this hotel is 4 star - it barely makes 3 star. Linens were thin (although clean) but there was no mattress protector on the bed - just thin sheets straight on top of the mattress and a very ordinary blanket with lumpy pillows. In the bathroom the handle kept falling off the mixer tap in the basin. Breakfast was not very good - coffee & tea ok but pastries & croissants were pretty dry! No fresh fruit available - just fruit from a tin. We have stayed in many hotels in major European cities and have come to expect small - but usually beautiful linens, up to date amenities and generally a bar/lounge area to relax outside the room. A vending machine in the corner of the lounge does not do the trick & tea & coffee were not available other than at breakfast. The position was very good and that's about the best I can say about it. We were extremely disappointed as were many others guests at the time. We checked it out online before we left home (we were booked in by a travel agent) and it looked ok but I'm not sure where the featured rooms were in the place! We at least had air conditioning in the second room - none in the first - very bluntly told by very grumpy male on the desk that it didn't work! Two other gentlemen on the desk were very helpful & quite pleasant.
I enjoyed this hotel, but I expected more for how much we paid. The location is optimal in Rome somewhat central (which I love when traveling). Downside it's on a moderate sized hill so if you're walking to this hotel from the train station wear your sneakers and get some water. I would HIGHLY advise against walking to the hotel from the train station with large luggage. I had a carry-on only and hated it the whole time. My husband and I loved how clean this hotel was, despite the mold on the ceiling in the bathroom - which you'll find throughout Europe due to poor ventilation in the older buildings, but this one had great ventilation so I was perplexed in regards to the moisture-mold. My husband and I never did make it to the free breakfast but we heard it was okay and nothing to rave about. The tax for this hotel (at the time of writing this review) was €6 per person per night which you have to pay when checking out, so alot time for this task. Wi-Fi is NOT included in this hotel unless you book through the Anglo Americano Website only. If you book through a travel agent you have to pay €2 per hr etc. which is ridiculous. There are SEVERAL places to get wifi in Rome so you'll have chances to connect to family/friends back home when you frequent bars/cafes/restaurants/etc.
"stay at the hotel Anglo Americano"
We stayed at this hotel Anglo Americano when we were in Rome for 2 days. The staff is not friendly at all. Whatever you ask them, there is only one answer "I don't know". The room was ok, we have to pay for the wifi. But again you don't get the coverage in any room. you can only get coverage in the lobby. It is located in the heart of the city, so one good thing is easy access to almost all the places. Other than that there is nothing great about this hotel.
