Great value hotel in the centre of Edinburgh, Hotel is clean, comfortable and modern with good facilities. Whilst there is no parking at the hotel, there is a concession to park at a Q Park car park near by (3 min walk). Food in the hotel was OK, service could have been a bit slicker but I'm just being picky. The bar was pleasant and a nice place to have a drink before going out or returning in the evening. Its in a great location at the end of Princess Street just a short stroll from the train station. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would certainly consider staying here again in the future.
"Comfortable, ideal location to visit Edinburgh "
The Apex is close to Waverley Station and the historic landmarks in and around Princess Street. The rooms were spacious and comfortable Service was courteous. Breakfast was sumptuous- a little on the expensive side - but had an incredible range of options. This is a super place for a celebration weekend.
"Almost 5 star but no sausages for breakfast!"
Positives: Great location right next to Edinburgh Waverley station. The building is a pretty building. Large, well- equipped rooms. The rooms were a pleasant temperature, had a good range of teas. The bathroom had good smellies and a good shower. Although the decor seemed about 5 years old (at a guess) it was modern and good quality. The bed was comfortable. The bar was a nice place to chill out Overall the rooms and hotel were well equipped - hairdryer, iron, spa etc Amazing wifi Negatives: Breakfast!!! It was chaotic with big queues every morning. We paid extra for breakfast yet the cooked breakfast was sparse and missing the sausages and tomato without any explanation. Sometimes the buffet, continental breakfast was cleared out and needed replenishing - no croissants either! This is a shame as the breakfast was nice and the breakfast room was pretty. Rooms could also be cleaned to a higher standard. We turned up at our room after breakfast and the maid scarpered. The room wasn't fully cleaned - perhaps this was a misunderstanding as the maid wasn't English. We would stay here again but would have breakfast elsewhere.
"Edinburgh trip "
We normally stay in the apex at the grass market but decided to stay at Waterloo place for easier accessibility to princess street. The hotel was lovely and up to the standard you expect from the apex. Our room had a bath and a walk in shower and was complete with two fluffy bathrobes. Breakfast was good . Would recommend this hotel
"Nice atmosphere "
Never actually stayed in the hotel but did try the restaurant with friends. We all had the set 3 course meal which was great value and tasted great. The staff where also pleasant and helpful. I will come here again the future
