We spent an amazing weekend in Aquaworld resort with my family. No doubt its the best family hotel in this area. Clean rooms, nice meals, romantic spa. We usually visited the Oriental spa ( part of the hotel ) because it was less crouded then the bigger place. We will be back for sure :)
"Great experience, but far out"
Visit was well worth it, but if you are staying in Budapest it is far out. We took a taxi there and back from our city centre flat in Budapest. The free shuttle bus from Hero's square was not a practical solution in either going there or coming back. The taxi ride there and back took 45 mins. each way and we spent 3 hours in the resort. Nice experience, very imaginatively put together water park. Unfortunately our youngsters of 3, 6 and 7 were still a little bit small to participate in all the slide and tube rides, but there were alternatives for them also. I liked the outdoor pool which was virtually empty. I wouldn't rush back mainly due to the distance from town.
We decided to end our backpacking trip through Europe at Aqua World to get some rest and relaxation before heading for home. We were not disappointed, what a great place. The rooms were great, the oriental spa in the hotel was fantastic, and the breakfast and dinner buffets were really well done. Adjacent to the hotel is the Aqua World indoor water park. You pay extra to access this location, but it's very reasonably priced. The hotel provides you with a wrist scanner that allows you to bill food, spa items and the water park to your room without having to carry cash. For us, it was the best way to cap our travels, I highly recommend a visit if you have the chance.
"Never ever again."
Where do I start, well first I have to say I was recommended this by a client and they booked it for me as its close to their office. Its also in the middle of no where. What a surprise when I was checked in, I had been upgraded to a suite! one that was as far away from the main hotel as was physical possible without the use of a shuttle bus. So far no good, it can't be all bad can it, well I was in a cluster of apartments but the halls were full a screaming kids. Well onto the bar, sat at the bar with 3 bar staff going about their business. I thought It wont take long there are 3 of them. after about 15 minutes I actual had to ask to be served even then it took another 5 minutes to get a drink. On to dinner, well you get one option and its called a buffet. Picture a scene where you substitute quantity for quality and you will get the picture or part of it anyway. add to that tables with half eaten plates of food left or ages, kids running amock and out of control with their parent completely oblivious to the other peoples wanting a little peace and quite while I ate what little I could find to interest my appetite (I am not a faddy eater). After 30 minutes as I was about to get up to leave a waiter final asked me if I would like anything to drink. I was booked into this hell hole for 2 nights, its now one and I shal be glad to leave in the morning never to return.
"A great, relaxing stay. Exactly what we needed."
The staff was really helpful. We had a bit of a mix-up with our room, but they were quick to solve it. Besides minor issues, they were great. The food is delicious, the services are great, the massages are excellent. It was definitely not the last time we visited the hotel. We tried a romantic package, and it was defnitiely worth it.
