Fabulous room with great vista. Breakfast and dinner buffet second to none. Beach within 5 minutes walk and great inlet for swimming in the sea. So good, that we didn't even try the swimming pools. Would not recommend for the infirm as very hilly. Walk to Elounda about 20 minutes and well worth the visit. Would definitely visit again. And to top it all, the weather was the best.
"Beautiful resort, can't wait to come back!"
We arrived from a late flight and was greeted with cool flannels and drinks. Check in was very quick and we were shown to our rooms shortly after. The rooms are beautiful and kept very very clean, they also have a well stocked mini bar and coffee making facilities. They provide you with towelling robes and slippers and even have a pillow menu. Most of the rooms have a view facing the sea. Wifi is mainly in the lobby but at times I was lucky enough to have signal in my room. The food was nice and well laid out with a good variety and you can see everything was very fresh. Both the restaurant and lobby bar (with seating areas outside) are surrounded by (display) pools. The spa is lovely, it's located on the same floor as the hotel shop which is well stocked and reasonably priced. The pool area and private beach is also nice, quiet and very clean. The thing that swung it for me is that this is an adults only resort, it's location is not far from the village itself which was an €8.00 cab ride away. Down there you will find plenty of nice places to eat too if you want to get out of the hotel. I found the staff very friendly, as were the guests. I stayed during the Easter celebrations and was pleasantly surprised by the hamper that was left in my room prior to the end of my stay which I thought was a nice touch (thank you!) :) I loved this resort so much that I booked to come again this year so I very much look forward to staying with you again.
"there are 3 steps to heaven but a lot more to the pool bar"
Ok booked as a honey moon and when we arrived ,wow look impresiive Taken to our room in the main block and thats were it seemed to fall down . Our room is the one shown in a tui brochure and its not 5 star . Secon night store cuboard was banging as lock brocken so asked in morning if they could fix this . So third nite it was banging again ,when i inquired at reception they assured me it was sorted and would check again for me . We did then ask if we could get a parrasol for out balcony as all the room except ours had lovely shaded area , but the look on the receponsit face when i asked was rather blank and a dont care stare .So our lovely sun terrace was unusable for our holiday . Our dressing gowns were rather tired and holes in them with staining on furniture and marks on the wall . Not what you would expect in a 5 star room . The food is good but would be nice to seem some smiles and not that there our other places to eat in the evening but there is a extra charge for this . Sun beds are also in short supply with many being reserved all day and staff not monitering this at all. Pool bar is about 40 steps down and up from the bar and a man made beach with again reserved sun beds . If your not up and about before 9 ish you wont get a sun bed . There is a lovely spot at the top by the main hotel for evening drinks and the staff there our a credit the the hotel and they have moved the smokers to the out part of the area so you dont need to sit with them . Location is very quite and thats why we chose the hotel
"Very lovely, romantic and magical resort."
Visited the resort in the mid October. Arrived almost midnight but still the welcome was very friendly:) We also got late snacks which was very good after long trip behind. So we were there with Ultra premium all inclusive and stayed in see view bungalow. The room was very clean and cozy. We had the view to the one pool and right over the pool was see. So it was very nice because you just could step out to the terrace which we had for our room and jump in to the pool or go to walk:).I just have not enough words to describe how good was the food... and the morning coffee... and the wines..... So big big thank you for all the chefs and staff related to these choices. I still miss these tastes. Also the staff is so friendly and helpful. They all are doing all that you be feel like home but still as the most important person in the hotel. My special thanks is going to lounge bar girl who I think walked like kilometers to serve all customers and had all the time smile on the face. Then all the staff in beach bar, Main restaurant, Mirabello restaurant. Thank you all that you were so friendly, kind and polite. The place it self is quite big and you don´t feel like it is crowded, There are plenty of small corners and places where you can be and feel that you are alone in this hotel:) So you have lots of privacy but yet if you need to have a company around you go to some bar or restaurant or hotel lobby bar... So there is options to have both. And of course the Greek Night-this was so magical and romantic. So greetings to all in Sensimar Elounda Village and hope we will visit you soon:))
"Not for Everyone"
The location of the village is serene and somewhat isolated (not necessarily a bad thing). The food is better than most half board (dinner) service is very good. The beach is questionable unless you like to dive straight in or if you a diver. There is a great snorkelling lagoon with lots of underwater activity, however if you like to lounge in the sand go for a beach walk after dinner you a very limited. (to each their own) The setting is beautiful and the couples only is a great attraction. I found the room (I had a chalet) was nothing special and somewhat dark. While others may enjoy a minimum of a 2 hour ride from the airport (Heraklion) I found this a little frustrating, if you can afford private transport take it. The hotel did provide refreshments upon a late arrival which was quite welcoming after a long day. The hotel itself is set off the main road so be prepared (10 min walk ) to main road. I understand the attraction for some just not for me, nothing really bad, just different expectations from a resort.
