"Truly Amazing Staff with Great Amenities and Beautiful Grounds!!!"
We have been here for less than 3 days of our 6 day stay. I will have to rethink my rating system for other places that I have stayed. We are celebrating an anniversary and had planned a trip to the Phoenix area for a concert. As I browsed the locations of Hilton properties, I came across the Arizona Biltmore. Obviously as a Waldorf Astoria property, it was somewhat more than our normal stays at the other Hilton Properties, but so worth the step up. We arrived at the Biltmore earlier than the 4PM check-in time. Our first interaction with a staff member was with Michelle at the front desk. Truly amazing customer service from the entire Biltmore staff we met but Michelle was exceptional. Michelle asked the right questions and discovered we were celebrating our anniversary. Michelle apologized that our room was not ready. No worries as we were early. Michelle went above and beyond and offered an upgrade and sent a celebratory bottle of wine and chocolates to the room. Our new room would be ready shortly and Michelle informed us that we would receive a text when our room was available. No worries, we tooled around the area and stopped for a coffee. About 10 minutes after sitting down for a coffee, we received the promised text that our room was ready. (You will also receive a text checking on your stay) We returned to the hotel and handed our car over to the valet. The Arizona Biltmore team has this down to a science with the number of staff helping newly arriving and departing guests. We arrived back at the desk and as promised our room was ready. Around 6PM, Michelle's gift arrived at our room. The chocolates were in a nice gold box. When Suzy opened the box, there was a box made of chocolate with delicious bite size pieces of chocolates inside. (sorry but I took the picture after we broke open the box). Zoom in and you can see the Arizona Biltmore design. That evening, we chose to dine at Frank and Albert's. Our waiter, Guy, also asked questions concerning our stay or celebrations. We did inform Guy that we were celebrating our anniversary. Guy sent a bottle of champagne to our room the next evening. We had an incredible first meal at the Arizona Biltmore. I started with the artisanal cheese and cured meat (see picture - served on a piece of wood) and Suzy had the chicken tortilla soup. I had the chef's recommendation of Tomahawk Pork chop and Suzy had the roasted chicken. Both were delicious. We were so full and ready for the check when we were informed by Guy that he was sending over the chocolate bundt cake. WHEW!!! You would have thought we hadn't just had dinner. It was delicious and very rich. It was served with a chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. Guy truly made the evening a very memorable part of our stay. I have to note each of the F&A wait staff. You cannot go wrong with any of these team members or the host/management staff. For breakfast thus far, Maria, Sherri and Adrienne were all wonderful as was Joe at lunch. Dinner - Guy, Kayla and Chris all provided detailed service that you would expect at this beautiful property. We also shopped at several of the stores. Elizabeth was very gracious and helpful. The grounds are truly incredible and the room that we have appears to have been recently renovated. Close to everything you would like to do. After dinner, have cocktails by the many fireplaces. It hasn't been cool enough in the evenings for me but what a treat that would be on a chilly desert evening. There were conferences during the week but you would not have known it if the attendees were not wearing their badges. There was plenty of room throughout the property. This is a great property when you are celebrating an event or just when you want to treat yourself. (sorry, tried to add photos from my cell phone. Saved in the wrong format. Will try to upload later)
We have stayed here a handful of times over the last 20 years. We have always enjoyed the beautiful property and its architectural design. We have always been pleased with the service over the years. I really enjoy the area of the Villas. I remember their construction. The Catalina Pool is my favorite place to hang out. I can't wait to return some time.
"Not a good stay"
I just returned from a stay at the Arizona Biltmore. Beautiful grounds and great staff. Unfortunaly I was hit with the stomach flu in the middle of the night during my stay. I was doubled over in pain and called the front desk explaining I needed medication NOW! I was told they had nothing to help me. After I pushed harder I was told the manger could get into the gift shop and get me some tums. Ok, fine. Anything will help and it did. After spending the next day in bed I ordered a bowl of chick noodle soup and a grilled cheese with 2 soft drinks from room service. Again, it was delivered quickly. My problem was the small roll of tums cost me $5 plus and a $12 delivery charge. My chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese and soft drinks through room service cost $53! Ouch! Thanks for your help Biltmore!
"Good but could have been better"
I stayed several nights for a conference in the Terrace Building. The property is beautiful and historical, good conference facilities and pools (which I didnt use). My disappointment was around my room, as removed from any roads as it could be there was a service road behind me and I heard noise from that as well as footsteps from above and lots of noise from slamming doors especially by housekeeping. It shuddered the room when guests closed doors as well. The bed was posh, too soft for me so I had to have the feather bed removed and the pillows changed (they were like balloons). Poor choice of newspapers were offered and I felt isolated at this hotel, your stuck there without a car or taxi, there is a very limited shuttle service to a mall but thats about it. Why they charge for parking gets me btw - I pondered getting a rental car. Im glad however I can mark this property off my list, I wouldn't stay again but for a conference.
We stay here every fall for a get away. We could not be more pleased with everything the hotel has to offer. The golf is amazing as well as the rooms and grounds. The spa has great services, I never miss an opportunity spend some time there relaxing.
