"Mix up with booking but ..."
On arrival we were told that they did not have our booking and that we were being transferred to their sister hotel the Art Deco Imperial. We were taken by car and booked in for one night, we asked to stay both nights but they were full. We felt unsettled. The receptionist wasn't very friendly, handed us our key, told us where our room was and that was it. However the restaurant was amazing. We returned to the Palace next day after being collected by car. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist, our room was upgraded and champagne was brought to our room. We were also given a voucher for a free 3 course meal with wine. The waiters in the restaurant were also very friendly and helpful, I had earlier used one of their free products in the bathroom which had caused an allergic reaction and my eyes swelled up during dinner, one of the waiters noticed this and bought me over some eyedrops. We were also had a late checkout with no further charge. Breakfast was also very good.
"Great Hotel, Great Location!"
My wife and I stayed at the Art Nouveau Palace Hotel as part of our pre-cruise extension with Viking Cruises. We were very, very pleased and the location is fantastic if you want to be within walking distance of the downtown shopping, restaurants, and sights. Our room was very nicely appointed and clean with plenty of space for the two of us, plus the bed is quite comfortable. The included buffet breakfast is exceptional! One of the best we have ever had while traveling. A wide selection to choose from plus an omelet and egg bar if you want something cooked to order. All of the staff we encountered were friendly, and they spoke English which was helpful for us since we don't speak Czech. The only small criticism I might have is with their corner cafe restaurant, the Palace Café (NOT their upscale restaurant). We ate dinner there one evening and it was fine, the food was good, but nothing spectacular. Since the rest of the hotel and facilities are so nice, it was a little bit of a letdown. However, saying that, it would certainly not dissuade me from staying there again. Overall though, we were very, very happy staying at the Art Nouveau Palace and would welcome the opportunity to stay there again during a future visit to Prague!
"For the memories ..."
We do come back here to visit the lounge, every time we are in Prague. We love to return, even for a short visit, as these days we prefer the quieter Mala Strana - my neighborhood - for our hotel stay. But this hotel holds special memories for my husband and I, many years ago we had a wedding reception here. That is why we love to visit, for a brief moment in time, this beautiful, charming and elegant hotel. We tell each other that we will stay here one of these days again, next visit perhaps, ... if I manage to tear myself away from Mala Strana. If only for couple of days.... The Art Nouveau hotel offers the Old World style luxury so fitting the Prague experience....
Absolutely one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed. Staff was amazing, Breakfast was the best....they had glutten-free bread that I have ever eaten. Amenities were tops. Marble bathroom with large soaking tub.
"Staff rude and unhelpful"
A beautiful hotel spoiled by a few key members of staff. Booked 9 mths ahead for 6 ladies in 3 twin rooms, arrived to 3 double rooms (not happy). Spent most of the weekend moving from room to room trying to get the 3 TWIN rooms we asked for. I had to haggle to get any compensation from them and then it was a meal in their restaurant/Bar that left 4 out of the 6 of us very hungry & disappointed. They could not understand our frustration that getting it correct IN THE 1st PLACE is very important. I would not go back due to the attitude of the desk staff and the way they dealt with 6 very frustrated women
