Just returned today after spending the night in Artemis, and I have to say it's probably the best hotel I've stayed in, in quite a while. Checking was at 12:00 which is great, nice welcome, really nice and modern inside, very clean. My room was great too. There doesn't seem to be much around the hotel, but then I didn't venture far as it was freezing! So I had all of my meals there too. Food was great, although menus a little limited, and quirky. I think the only thing I could fault really was the overall cost for breakfast, 15€ for breakfast seemed a little steep. My bedroom was great, good attention to detail, small sewing kit, fridge, iron and ironing board etc. Plugs by the bed was a real bonus!!! The only downside was the tv there wasn't anything English to watch, although I did find BBC 1 but football was on all night, so some decent tv would of been good, so other than the cost of breakfast and lack of English tv I was really impressed. If I need to stay in that area again I would stay there, although next time I think I'd prefer to be closer to the centre of Amsterdam.
"Not the most welcoming"
I stayed here once and if I am honest it was not the most enjoyable, the staff were not very attentive and the room was not that great. Food was questionable and the fact that i had an early checkout meant I did not even get breakfast, had to make do with some box wouldn't stay here again
Great clean hotel a bit out the way but easy to commute on tram or train. Expensive for drinks so local supermarket trip advised for drinks. Fridge in room. Close to airport would stay again but Amsterdam not really for me
"Visited Over Christmas"
We wanted to stay out of the way so booked this hotel, the hotel is lovely and the staff were very helpful, our room was nice and had a view of the front of the hotel. The tram stop is only an 8 minute walk away and the trams come every 5 mins, one major thing they should tell you is that walking back from the tram when it is dark is quite creepy! We ordered room service the second night we were there and got a peperoni pizza which came to our room in about 5-10mins and was delicious! and we paid the next morning at the reception desk 13.50 euros. So a couple of days later we were to tired to go out so ordered the pizza again, I got a phone call 5 mins later asking how we were paying so I said cash which was fine. another 10-15 minutes later the doorbell rang and we got our food opened the lid and it was not the same pizza so we thought oh well we will try it, it was horrible! was not peperoni was some sort of really salty meat had peppers and chilli's on it. It looked hand made so not sure if they had ran out and tried to make us one but would of rather they told us and could of ordered something different.
"Good value for money but out of the way"
Very comfortable and good value for money. The breakdown buffet has a wide range and is very good. Service is excellent. On the other hand, it's a long way out of central Amsterdam. It's a 10 minute walk to the tram which in busy periods can take 30-40 minutes to travel the 4 or so miles. Also the rooms could do with more daylight with bigger windows.
