"Nice, quiet, quirky hotel"
The hotel is slightly on the outskirts of Amsterdam but the tram number 2, which stops at lots of the major attractions is very frequent and takes about a 5 minute walk from the stop to the hotel. At first it took me 10 minutes as I followed the map from the hotel but you can cut through the housing estate which cuts off a large corner and takes half the time. The hotel is a big hotel surrounded by a lot of offices and it is situated in a Business Park but do not let this put you off as it is very quiet and nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of Amsterdam. You can also catch the 197 airport express bus which is around the other side of the hotel about a 10 minute walk. The hotel receptionist can issue you with a map of the direction to walk. It is 5 euros to get to the airport and takes about 20 minutes. This is a very frequent service. If you buy a combi ticket to visit Keukenhof, this is the bus you will catch to the airport and then catch the 858 to Keukenhof. The combi ticket which also includes entrance and transport back is 29€. You can buy transport tickets from the hotel for the GVB buses, trams and metro, these are 24, 48, 72 or 96 hour tickets. The 197 is run by another company so the tickets will not cover this bus. The hotel is very big but has some nice modern quirky touches to it. Check in and out is very speedy. The room is spacious, a huge bed and lots of nice lighting. There is plenty of room for storage, maybe could do with a couple more hangers. I always pack a couple more so wasn't a problem for me. There is also an iron and ironing board in the cupboard and tea making facilities. The wifi had a strong signal and is free. I loved the heated floor in the bathroom and there were plenty of towels. I do think the shower could do with a larger screen and the shower kept pointing toward the wall so this could be looked at. It isn't a huge problem as can just remove the shower head from the wall. The water is lovely and warm too. There was no noise at night and I slept really well. There is a little pretty park really near the hotel and one near where you catch the 197. I would definitely recommend this hotel as it is so easy to get to and you know you will have a good nights sleep and be refreshed for the next day.
"Lovely hotel a short tram ride from the city centre."
Hotel and staff were great, really helpful and welcoming. Lovely quiet hotel, great for coming back to at the end of a long day exploring the city. Room was cleaned everyday, nice, clean and modern. I didn't spend much time exploring the hotel and its amenities, but from what I saw they were fine. Nearest tram stop was about a 7 minute walk through a quiet residential area. Trams were frequent and had convenient stops for all the tourist areas and places of interest. If you're going to spend all night partying it might not be the most convenient hotel, depending on the night buses etc, but it's lovely for some peace and quiet away from the city centre. Nice patio area right by the canal outside the hotel.
"Lovely hotel with accessibility "
Me auntie and I stayed here in March and it was fantastic. It is close to public transport which takes you to the city centre and other locations which is within walking distance. This may be a drawback for some people because it is located about 7/8 stops away from the centre and takes about 30 mins. The staff is amazing as well as the room service, in terms of food. It's clean and well kept. I have nothing bad to say about this place.
"Lovely hotel "
My partner and I stayed here for 5nights it's a lovely hotel, it's clean, open and the staff were all very pleasant. We had the superior suite and it was beautiful, the right amount of space needed for a hotel room. There is a nice bar, and a big restaurant for you to enjoy a meal, as well as room service. The decking outside is beautiful and sits in front of a big water pool which we sat out at several times in the sun and at night time to enjoy a drink. The hotel is only a 5min walk from the tram that goes to central station which passes Dam and the Rijks Museum. There was only one minor let down to our stay and that was that they didn't tell you before your trip that you need to pay city tax when you arrive as for some reason this is not included in your payment for your stay, so I was very surprised when I checked in and they told us we owed X amount of euros on city tax! The more nights you stay the more expensive it is. But other than that we had a great stay with Artemis DDH and would certainly go back here for our next trip to Amsterdam.
"Lovely hotel! "
I stayed here with a friend for 2 nights and we both loved it. The price was so reasonable for the quality of room and the staff at reception were so helpful! We were told about the tram to and from the centre and paid €22 while we were there which meant we saved money on cabs as it was about 15 mins from the centre. We also experienced more of amsterdam by using public transport as we saw different locations on the way and decided where we wanted to get off. We booked the Heineken experience and Keukenhof with the hotel staff who gave us recommendations and were really lovely. The hotel was a good distance from the airport and a cab was only €25 or €13 with uber. I would recommend the hotel to anyone interested as it was lovely and the location, although not central was still near enough to everything!
