"Home Away From Home"
I have been here for the past 4 months with my wife, and will continue to be here until the end of January 2017. So far, the team here has gone the extra mile to ensure a pleasant, comfortable, and enjoyable stay. Bed sheets, and towels are changed, and floors swept, and wiped everyday without fail. Rooms are well insulated from noise, and the hotel sits nicely above the Raffles MRT station. Many restaurants are located within a 5-10 minute walk, and the iconic MBS is seen, within a short scenic walk around the Singapore River banks.
"Excellent & Memorable Stay"
We booked the room for the preparation of our solemnisation in the evening. However, upon checking in, the meticulous staff noticed, congratulate us and even sent us choc and wine, a kind gesture that truly made our day and feel special. He made the initiative to understand the guests and was very warm and welcoming. He even allowed us to check out at 2pm the next day, choosing ascott is one of the best choice we ever made.
"great hotel, terrible restaurant service"
this is more a review of the new restaurant at the Ascott and not the hotel itself. The hotel i have stayed out over a dozen times and it has always been a favorite. unfortuntely it has teamed up with a new F& B partner that has some of the worst service i have encountered. clearly the staff have had no training as it was comical how clueless they were...a copy of my restaurant review is below: let me start with a positive - the quality of the food was actually very good. the service on the other hand was bordering on comical it was that bad. i should start by pointing out that there were more staff than guests tonight so being busy is not an excuse. i am actually staying a the hotel and the only reason i decide to have a business dinner here was that the person who checked me in told me it had been recently renovated and that i could simply put the bill on my room. perfect given i had just arrived, had a business dinner and didn't have a lot of time to eat. it started when we ordered and my guest asked for a soup and salad and me just a main meal. this already confused them as they discussed which order to bring them. in the meantime we ordered a bottle of wine. this was delivered to the table with the bill telling me i had to pay for this now as the wine was separate - ok i have heard of separate bills for drinks and food but to expect me to pay for the wine even before it has been opened is ridiculous. i then put the bill to one side and waited. my guests soup came out and he asked for bread however was greeted with a blank look . further probing and we were told we had to buy bread - again, any half decent restaurant serves bread to the table. my guests salad then came but still no sign of my main. when i asked if my main was coming the waiter asked if it was ok to serve it now. it had clearly been cooked and sitting there waiting to be fetched and had i not asked it would have continued to have gotten cold. as mentioned before, at least once the food did come it was actually very well presented and of a high quality. half way through eating the meal though the food bill came and we were told to pay as the cashier was closing (it was only 9:30pm!) i said we wanted to eat our food first however they insisted on us settling the bill. i then tried to put it on my room however was told it was an extra 17% if i put it on the room. now this is ridiculous on all levels. i get that hotels outsource their restaurant to 3rd parties but to then spring an extra charge with no warning on unexpecting guests is ludicrous, esp as it was the hotel that suggested i eat there in the first place. there are some may great places to eat in SG and decent service is an easy skill to master yet this place failed on all levels. the restaurant is to blame but the hotel is not far behind by even allowing such poor service to exist. i have been a huge fan of the Ascott Raffles Place for years and have stayed here many times but the restaurant has just let the Group down badly. give the restaurant a miss and probably the hotel too until they find a decent F&B partner
"Perfect location! "
Great location, 10minute walk from major attractions such as MBS! Neat and modern style apartments. Only suggestion I would make is the lighting, its quite dim with spotlights - nothing too dramatic but more of a personal preference.

great location, with MRT access just outside next the hotel. a nice layout of the room, which provides quietness. pillows too soft, but mattress very comfortable. has a standing shower, in addition to bath tub. free wifi connection but also a touch screen phone to use during stay. nice and simple swimming pool to do laps. complimentary lounge near gym and pool.
