"Hotel in Nola"
Overall my experience was good. Beds were quite comfortable and great location to Bourbon Street. However a couple of improvements. Would like to see you have shaving cream for a shaver that you provided. I was only provided with a wash cloth 1 day and I stayed a whole week.
"Fell in love with the town!"
My 8yr old and I stayed here 3 nights over Easter weekend. We arrived in the morning, well before check-in, stored our luggage with the bell hops and were told we would receive a call when our room was ready. We were lucky enough to deal with Zarionne! She was so friendly and she showed me on a map how to get to Cafe Dumond and also made some suggestions for dinner (which we took). No sooner had we finished our beignets then we receive the call saying our room was available early! The location couldn't have been more perfect! We were so close to everything. Right across the street we could catch the streetcars and the party on Bourban was right at the corner! My son and I did a ton of walking and were happy to come back to relax. We spent some time at the pool, which is VERY small and only catches afternoon sun, and also at the fitness room, which had the perfect amount of equipment. The Bourban House is attached to the Astor but isn't managed by the Astor. They had a wonderful breakfast Buffett on a Saturday but their regular breakfast was mediocre. The bartender was a workhorse and super pleasant. I had an issue with our room and it was addressed immediately and our room was switched. I couldn't have asked for better customer service in that instance. Thanks AGAIN to Zarionne. The ONLY issue I could possibly have had was that when switching rooms, my sons bathing suit was left hanging up. According to other staff at the desk, nothing had been turned in or reported......yet they didn't call to check. It seems like this group was a bit unprofessional. I was pretty disappointed that it 'disappeared' while on vacation. Last but not least, we left on Easter Sunday and the bell service again held our luggage while we enjoyed an Easter Parade. They were so friendly and helpful. They also gave me tips on places to visit and eat. I loved this place and the people I met (with just a few exceptions). I'd come back again and again just for that reason!
"Girls weekend "
This hotel is old but has been renovated. Room is huge. Have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower. The front desk was inefficient with only two working the desk and quite a few people waiting. Beds are tall and hard. Pillows are hard. Close to bourbon street. Overall not a bad place to stay.
"Glad we didn't pay full price"
We had a Groupon and got a good deal on the price, so went down for 5 days with our family. Checkin took forever, there was a line a mile long to get up to the front desk. The rug in our room had a pink stain on it (I"m guessing someone spilled a Hurricane or something) and our view was basically of a wall. But, again, the room was cheap, it didn't smell bad and we weren't about to stand in that line again. We were on the quieter side of the hotel which was nice. My biggest complaint was the cleaning service- awful! They left garbage in the room on more than one occasion (we always tip and are very neat people!) and my daughter (who is 11), accidentally left her wallet in a drawer, which was gone when we returned. Lesson learned- use the safe! Aside from that, the location was great, close to the trolley and easy walking distance to everything in the Quarter. I'm just glad we only paid $79 a night.
"Excellent location and classic hotel"
As much as I like Nawlins, I don't wanna be walking very far, in the dark, after a night of partying on Bourbon Street, SOOO, the ACP is perfect, right on Bourbon St, with walking access to the French Quarter. It's also right on the Canal St/St Charles Trolley line, which runs through the historic Garden District. The rooms are large and clean, with a friendly staff willing to answer your touristy questions. For the money, I don't know how you can beat the Astor Crown Plaza. I'll give it the ultimate compliment and stay there the NEXT time I visit the area...
