"Great location but not as good as it should be."
The location of this hotel is wonderful, on Canal Street between Bourbon and Royale, backing up the French Quarter. The lobby is nice and well-maintained. The staff is New Orleans friendly, a real compliment. My problems with the hotel are a little bit petty, but I expect better from properties which purport to be better hotels. My room was good-sized and generally comfortable. The side chair, where I typically read for business purposes was not comfortable. The shears did not have the curtain rods necessary to open and close them. The bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths were worn and thin. In fact, one of them tore while I was drying my back. There was a terrible delay in getting my car from the valet parking. I recognize this is always a problem in large cities, but there is no telephone at the valet stand, so you have to walk down and wait at the stand while they send for your car. One of the times I needed my car, I had over a 45 minute delay because of a mix-up in the claim check number. The valet personnel were very courteous and genuinely upset at the delay. I also think that hotels of this caliber should have real glasses, not plastic cups. I recognize that most of these complaints are trivial, but I expect better from this brand.
I waited over 4 hours for my room even though others checking in after me got theirs. I was supposed to have balcony but did not get one. It scared me that the window was nailed shut. The servers for our conference were outstanding as were other hotel personnel.

We loved our time in New Orleans and staying here was perfect! Location was central to most everything and definitely having the trolley right out the front door was a plus. Staff were very courteous.
It was very close to all the action. Price was very reasonable and shopping, eating and partying. The only issue I had was a pair of shades that I just bought came up missing and it seemed as tho no one really cared to find out what happened. So I ended up loosing because Ray-Ban costed me 275.00

Perfect location! Nice rooms! Great staff! Why only average' Little things are sorely lacking! No lotion, no waters, no shower caps, no robes! This is just not right! Women who travel for business need these basic amenities. Will stay elsewhere in the future
