"Spartan Hotel in Central Athens , But"
I stayed there on 29th October 2016. It was spartan in amenities.. About 15 minutes walk from the Temple of Zeus, Acropolis museum and the Plaka area. View from the rooftop is magnificent . Parthenon in magnificent glory is visible from the roof. The management should try to improve the fixtures in the bathroom. They could put a towel rack in the bathroom instead of leaving the towels in the bedroom. The bath tub was very unsafe to climb. The height was about 22-23 inches. Providing a swinging half-door on the long side of the tub makes it very unsafe. There was nothing to hold onto to climb in or out of the stub. The hand-shower head holder on the wall was near the open end of the tub. While taking shower the bathroom floor gets become all flooded.
"Nice, convenient location"
My friends and I did two weeks in Europe. This is one of the hotels we stayed in. The hotel was nice and at first I didn't like the area, but later realized it was in a convenient location. I would stay there again.
We spent a single night in this hotel prior to a cruise embarkation. It was selected by chance based on its location. Our primary requirement was that it be reasonably convenient to transportation, as we were coming to the hotel from the airport, and leaving the hotel for the Piraeus cruise port the next morning. Although we generally felt that sightseeing venues would be a kind of "bonus-extra", we were mindful of the Athens tourist highlights when we booked. We ended up getting all that we wanted and a little more. Our room on an upper floor (7) was clean and comfortable, and the views were enough to remind us very clearly that we were in a foreign land. The "money view", however, was the one from the bar/restaurant which looked out on the Acropolis. Our arrival was a little early, as our flight came in pretty early morning, but we checked in without a problem. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and breakfast the next morning was quite good. The immediate neighborhood (Acropolis Museum) was lively and pleasant. Our walk to Syntagma Square was about a mile, and we passed the Arch of Hadrian enroute. Restaurants, services and shops were plentiful along the way.
"Very nice stay in convenient location"
We stay here for Three nights in September. We were warmly greeted by the hotel staff and were quickly checked in. The room on the 4th floor was clean and tidy and modern. The windows were triple pane to keep the traffic noise out, and they did the job well. The air condition was great. The hot water was good. The free breakfast was very good and the service good as well. The location was close to the subway which took us everywhere we wanted to go. Lots of nice restaurants close by. They do have a very nice roof top restaurant with a view of the Acropolis but we found it a bit overpriced compared to the restaurants without the view. All in all, everything we could expect.
"Good location but its looking worn...."
My husband and I spent a couple weekends at this hotel about 8 years ago. Thought we would make it easy on ourselves and book the same accommodation as the ratings were still good. However, it is showing its age. The room was worn looking and the breakfast room was cramped. While the selection for the breakfast was excellent, they were showing some strain with the amount of clientele. We will likely look elsewhere in Athens for our next visit as there are so many options.
