This is a classy and well run impressive hotel right at the heart of Clusaz. The staff were excellent , and all of the services that are offered by the hotel are first class. The first time that we have skied in France, and with this experience not the last. We will be returning to this hotel later in the year.Comment of D. Maxwell, United Kingdom the 2015-01-18
"Excellent hotel , facilities and staff"
A lovely modern hotel right on the slopes is just a perfect winter sport location. The room was more than we expected, being given a family room for the two of us , which included a living area with stairs leading up to a landing area with a single bed, and a separate Bedroom with a double bed , leading to a bathroom with a large shower. Downstairs, a bedroom leading off the lounge area was another bedroom with a super king size bed, balcony and another bathroom with a jacuzzi bath . We had a coffee machine and even an airing cupboard to dry our wet gear when coming in from the slopes . The spa and pool were also a treat. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The food was amazing with a buffet style breakfast and the evening meal consisted of a set menu of four courses , with a choice of mains and dessert or cheese . The cheese room was an experience within itself , with a variety of all types of cheese. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, it's central to the shops, bars and ski lifts.
"Wonderful ski weekend getaway"
Great location. Good service and food. The Cinq gastronomic restaurant was excellent. My only suggestions would be to modify the in room breakfast form. We thought we ordered 4 eggs but ended up with 4 portions of 2 eggs. Also the pool temperature was a bit cool.
"An odd mix, great in parts"
The basic things are very good: great location, helpful and well trained staff, comfortable bed, good food, quite excellent in the grander restaurant. But at these prices (£700 per night including food and reasonable wine) I did not expect poor quality furniture , poor finishes ( faux fur and wipe down plastic headboards) useless shower, blown up photos for art, the worst bar croner I had heard for years ( last night's " its a wonderful World" was sublimely poor ) a fitness room with just two machines in it, plates from room service left outside a neighbouring room for several hours ( more than once), the next table being laid for breakfast whilst we ate dinner. We will go back as the good far outways the poor, and left satisfied, but with the slight feeling that the staff, manager, and kitchen are working very hard to justify a product which will struggle to keep its price point as second rate design and quality looks much worse when it no longer feels nearly new.
Reception staff friendly helpful, rooms nice and clean and comfy beds floors scratched a little tatty but with ski boots this can't be helped i guess, shower is awful smallest shower head in the world and unless you are a midget then you will have trouble fitting under this, heater good but dryer for wet clothes not effective. The location for this hotel is amazing for the slopes however be prepared to be massively overcharged. The spa is nice but overall the hotel lacks the wow factor you would expect from a hotel with 5 stars, also the food in the restaurant was horrendous do not recommend eating here. Food was unseasoned and bland. I had a chicken caser salad which was made using no dressing at all, chicken was tough chewy and clearly processed or from a packet, anchovy dressing not fresh straight out of the fridge ice cold and unpleasant, bread not warmed up butter hard as a rock. Beef cheek main course was slimey and glutinous rather unpleasant. My partner had duck which was tough chewy and rubbery. Really disgusting food so will never revisit the restaurant although the hotel is good and nice staff.
"Excellent food and ski access"
We stayed for four nights at the hotel. We found the staff very helpful. Two best points about this hotel are the location for access to skiing straight on the slopes, easy routes in and plenty of variety of differents runs to do. Our room was at the front of the hotel and was clean tidy beautifully decorated however we did feel it was a little small bearing in mind we had paid for a suite a considerable upgrade. It really just two rooms together with a sliding partition. That said the feedback would be if your after a comfy bed for the night just dont upgrade as the facilities are already excellent. Food is absolutely amazing we were half board and the choice was very good and the meat and fish were excellent quality. we were never dissapointed at meal times. Drinks are quite expensive but this is to be expected at a 5 star hotel so we were not surprised. We would definately visit again and would reccommend this hotel to friends and family.
