We chose the Augustine because it is a Starwood Luxury Hotel and it was just perfect! The location is great-5 minute walk to the Charles Bridge, 10 minutes to Prague Castle or Old Town Square, yet in a quiet location. The hotel itself is beautiful with spacious and luxurious rooms. I received an email from the concierge a week before my arrival asking about our plans and reason for our visit. I told them we were celebrating my birthday and we had a lovely pastry on a beautiful plate awaiting us in the room upon arrival. We were there over Easter and they also delivered Easter treats! The staff was welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.
"A tranquil oasis"
The location of the hotel is perfect - close enough to walk to all the sights yet removed from the main tourist thoroughfares. We stayed the weekend before Easter and Prague was very busy so it was wonderful to return to the peace and calm that is the Augustine. Our room (436) was spacious, comfortable and beautifully appointed, although no real view and no tea/coffee making facilities. We ate dinner in the hotel the first night, the food and wine were delicious and the service excellent. The only thing we didn't like was having lard instead of butter with the bread! (Czech specialty) Breakfast is very good indeed with plenty of choice and the best Eggs Benedict we have ever had in any hotel. We also loved the Refectory bar which serves fabulous cocktails - the Radim being favourite! The staff at the Augustine really deliver excellent service - they were all, without exception, smiling, courteous and willing to make your stay the best it could be. We will definitely return next time we visit Prague
We stayed three nights at The Augustine. Staff was very friendly and courteous. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. Restaurant for breakfast was nice and the food quality was excellent. We traveled on our honeymoon and received a dessert treat with a bottle of wine the second night during our stay. The hotel is very convenient to the attractions in Lesser Town and the Charles Bridge (several minute walk) but just far enough away to keep it nice and and quiet. What a beautiful city!!! The only slightly negative comment would be that the water in the shower wasn't as hot as we desired. Overall rating A+!!!!
"Beautiful, classy, and great location."
A former monastery converted to a luxury hotel' Yes. And it works. The Augustine is only a 5 minute walk to Charles Bridge but it's separated from the tourist crowds. Super staff, a great restaurant, and comfortable luxurious rooms. Nothing but solid thumbs up for the hotel and her staff.
"Great choice in Prague"
Beautiful conversion of an old monastery. The hotel feels tranquil and serene and the staff are attentive and helpful. We also received a glass of sparkling wine at check in, which was a very nice touch. The location of the hotel is good – an easy walk to the Charles Bridge but comfortably removed from the tourist crowds of the Old Town. The bar and restaurant are also first rate. Keep in mind that the standard (classic) rooms are located at the front of the hotel and that the trams run right by the windows. So there is quite a bit of noise. Paying extra for a room in another part of the hotel is highly recommended. We ended up switching rooms late the first night because the tram noise was too much. Also, when you leave the hotel, DO NOT turn right into the tram tunnel even though it looks as if there is a path. Trams come by every few minutes and the path does not continue all the way to the end of the tunnel. Instead, just cross the street and take the wide walkway through the tunnel that is on the other side. Don't be deterred by the comments about trams, though. This is a fabulous hotel and we will definitely stay again next time we visit Prague.
