"Bali trip "
Ayana resort & spa is one of the most beautiful resorts I have visited till now. Exquisite food quality with different cuisines & an astonishing location & view. Kubu beach which is located at the resort is the most beautifully located and the river is on the other side, it's clean & only for the residents of the hotel. The rooms were spacious and the bed was very comfortable with an amazing terrace view. Although the gym timings are only from 11 am to 7 pm which is the only thing that if possible needs to be changed.
"Nice hotel, but pity about the service and staff!"
Worst experience at a 'resort' to date. On arrival, checking in took 40 minutes which is totally unnecessary and not what you want after having just got off a international flight! Staff had no idea at what was going on, would always pass on the job or fault to another staff member and also spoke little to no english. For a massive resort that caters for a huge amount of tourists, their basic english skills were appalling and lacking. The electronic key slot to our room was broken and asked on 3 several different occasions for it to be fixed as we had no access to our room and was never fixed. Staff kept palming off the problem to another staff member. The hotel was way too over crowded for it to feel relaxing and secluded (felt like you were down town Kuta) and was turned away at restaurants at our own hotel at 8.30pm as they were 'full'. What ever happened to letting the hotel guests have priority over outside guests. Food and drinks were all so over priced in the resort as it is out of the way to go outside of the hotel so prices were triple. Overall, I would never recommend or stay at this hotel/chain again as the whole duration of our stay was uncomfortable and honestly couldn't wait to check out.
We stayed 4 nights. Negatives: Unfortunaltely they are working in the front of the hotel (every day and into the evenings) It is a very expensive hotel. As an example, we paid 30-40 per Bintang beer everywhere else in Bali. Here we paid 90-100!!! The hotel has about 90% chinese national occupancy!! If that is not the holiday you are looking for, go to another hotel. We were shocked and it felt like we were in mainland china. The "Rock bar": Nice views but ridiculously expensive. Dress-code: No branded T-Shirts allowed! Why! They suggested I go and buy a shirt at the overpriced hotel-shop! C'mon guys! The resort is just too big. Positives: The staff is very friendly and helpfull (as everywhere in Bali) We upgraded to the Club Room. Expensive but worth it. On the downside, you are only seen as a clubroom member in the Club Lounge and 2 other areas for breakfast. Clubroom should have these privilidges everywhere on the resort. You can use the Rimba facilities aswell. Nicer, less busy pools. Good WiFi everywhere. We stayed at 2 other hotels during our holiday and this was by far number 3 for value of money. They must have a great marketing team that promotes the hotel. Final thoughts: I would not recommend the hotel at these prices. Much nicer hotels for less/half money available. Stay 1 or 2 nights max if you have to. I would not go back.
"Amazing stay "
We wanted to relax and forget about the crowded life in Jakarta, and Ayana was the perfect place for us. We stayed in Rimba and the room was very comfortable and quiet, and the resort was awesome. From the beginning to the end of our stay, I was impressed by how caring was the staff. There was always someone to bring us refreshing towels, which were really welcome under the Indonesian sun! During our stay, we enjoyed the private beach and its nice waves, swam in the numerous and amazing pools surrounded by flowers in Rimba, and with breath taking views in Ayana. There are numerous restaurants to eat, and they are all delicious. You can also enjoy a nice sunset at the rock bar. I will remember those holidays and will not hesitate to come back!
Some rooms at Ayana maybe outdated but are still comfortable and clean. Indeed with the same price, there are newer hotel options to stay in. Nevertheless, staffs are very welcoming, and the infinity ocean front pool is beautiful. The resort offers several on site restaurants and as expected are well above the average price compared to outside restaurants. The food offered at Kisik seafood bar and grill is overpriced relative to the quality, while Honzen and Ah Yat Restaurants are reasonable. Rock Bar wins the location but otherwise limited in drink selections and rather overpriced. Spa is superb, including selections, facilities and staffs.
