"Beautiful rooms, pool and great service :-)"
We stayed in ayara hilltops for 3 nights during our tour of Thailand and we really wish we could have stayed for longer. The rooms were amazing with a plunge pool with fantastic views. The staff were also outstanding and couldn't do enough to make the stay very enjoyable. The pool is beautiful, picturesque and quiet which is exactly what we wanted. Food and drink wasn't cheap in comparison to other local eateries / bars, however this is what you would expect from a boutique hotel. We enjoyed many drinks here around the pool and there are 3 happy hours throughout the day which is very useful. We had a bar snack one afternoon and it was certainly of a very high standard. The only gripe I would have about the hotel is the air con was quite loud, however that aside it was perfect. Close enough to patong to enjoy a crazy night out there but far enough away to truly be able to relax. A big thumbs up from the wife and I :-)
"very poor experience"
I have stayed 2 nights at this hotel for a Long week end with my Girlfriend. The good thing is that the hotel design, room spacious and quite enjoyable to stay in an empty hotel. The bad things are very noisy hotel with the road traffics, noisy air con in the room and bad management service. What you would expect from an hotel so far from patong is the tranquility and you will not find that at this hotel. I also had a very bad experience with the management staff. We requested for a late check out, they told us the day before that it was not an issue if they do not have a lot of guest coming the next day, which is very unlikely considering that the hotel was empty, in particular on a Monday. The management staff told us the next day that we need to pay a surcharge for the late check out, and after complaining they told us that would have a lot of new guests coming, which was obviously a lie !!! So personally I do not recommend this hotel at all.
"Very relaxing private villas"
We spent the last 4 nights of our Thailand trip at Ayara Hilltops. We were really impressed upon arrival, we got a nice tour of the communal areas before the buggy took us up to our villa. We had a courtyard villa with partial sea view. The villa was lovely - very high quality with outdoor shower and the biggest bed I've ever seen! The plunge pool was nice and refreshing and our sea view include Surin beach and Bangtao beach. The communal pool area is very nice and seemed quiet during our stay - it is best to be down there for happy hour when the cocktails which are lovely are slightly more reasonable in price. The staff are fantastic and just can't do enough for you. We also spent a morning at the HQ beach club which was a nice change. The pillows on the beach are great - but be warned you can only sit under the trees on the edge of the beach and it is advised to get there earlier to bag a spot. This is part of the ongoing beach crackdowns where the authorities aren't allowing anything on the beaches. The breakfast, now this was amazing! Fresh juices, range of fresh fruits, egg station, western and asian buffet plus the biggest bread and pastry table - I'm talking waffles, doughnuts, croissants and fresh bread. Unfortunately and the main reason why I couldn't give 5/5 was our disappointment at the food in the restaurant for the evening. We decided to treat ourselves to a meal here given how impressed we were with breakfast! The pricing is very high for thailand so we were expecting a lot and it didn't deliver. My fiancé had the 3 curry pots - they all tasted the same and were extremely hot for the western pallet! I had the fiery fish - having seen fish literally on fire, cooked in front of people in the beach front restaurants I was disappointed with my piece of fish which was quite bland - it came with some dried noodles and rice - because there was no sauce this all became quite a boring dish. It didn't really help that the waiter offered us drinking water and proceeded to bring us very expensive bottled water. Also there was no atmosphere - there were only 2 other couples the whole time we were there, in general there was often more staff than guests. On our other nights we walked into Surin to eat at the local eateries - a fraction of the price and much better quality. The other slight negative is the road noise - we could hear the motorbikes from our balcony and some of the time around the pool even though the water features and music try to mask it. It didn't affect us too much but it is a shame when they are clearing going for serenity here. All in all if you're looking for quiet/ relaxation then Ayara is perfect. In my opinion they need to lower their food and drink prices slightly and create a bit more atmosphere in the evening if they want to keep people in the resort.
"Amazing Suite, and World-Class View!"
We LOVED staying at Ayara Hilltops. It was great to be away from the bustle of Patong. The view from our suite was truly world-class, just epic. We loved the layout of our suite, with a separate living area and bedroom, with a private pool in the middle -- SO GREAT! And lots of bird life. The restaurant was delicious -- we loved everything we tried, and often took advantage of room service. The service all around was welcoming and warm. The pool was beautiful. (Ask for Suite 842, killer view!)
"Our 10th Year Anniversary Getaway"
We had decided to return to our favourite Thai Holiday destination to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and as usual, Ayara delivered. For the 1st time, we had gotten ourselves pampered with the pool villa and now, can't imagine considering the other villas. We were there in late May till early June and had the most awesome time. Sorry for such a late review. Ayara had provided us with an awesome package that made our holiday memorable. We keep going back to Ayara because it always gets better and we can't get enough of the Spa Serenti. I have to say the only downside to this whole trip was the removal of all restaurants and bars along Surin Beach. Disappointing because it was only a 3 minute walk to the beach from the resort and in the past, having been able to sit outdoors and enjoy the varieties of drinks and snacks with the winds blowing and keeping you cool... now there is nothing... well hopefully they come up with portable WC's and more organised food and drinks vendors. But having said that, we ventured a little further (10 minute ++ walk / 3 minute scooter ride) to Bangtao Beach and there you go... problems sorted with lots more restaurants and bars along the beach. So, thank goodness, I can still come back to Ayara in the future and not worry about not having a beach to chill at. I must say though, anyone wanting to have a quiet and romantic time in Phuket, should get in touch with Ayara and have them arrange a great package. Its not too far to Phuket town or to Patong Beach so you could still have the adventures and romance. Thank you once again Ayara for a wonderful and memorable holiday. We will be back for sure. And to all the staff, your smiles, friendliness and help are second to none. Keep up the good work. Till next time
