"No stinky drain smell any more!"
We have been staying at this hotel for long weekends for quite a few years now and every time we arrived as soon as you got out of the taxi, you could smell stinky drains.Really not nice at all. This awful smell wafted into the ground floor of the hotel and was quite off-putting but this is Spain with all that heat in summer so thought it was unavoidable. But yippee arrived early February, many workmen completing maintenance on the fountain outside and no drain smell! Could just be coincidence, but what a pleasant surprise. Everything else nothing to complain about, we are aware of the quirky bathrooms and noisy toilet flush but what's far more important is that the beds do not give you backache and the lifts are plentiful even at breakfast time. By the way, would love porridge for breakfast but couldn't make them understand - my fault, don't speak spanish. Enjoyed my stay.
"Let down by bathroom"
Great location, excellent staff, comfortable room( upper level suite), tasty breakfast. I can't give the extra point though because of the bathroom. I could put up with the door that ground across the floor, screeching like a banshee, the shower head that was no higher than my chest and because there was no seal on the cubicle door, flooded the bathroom door, while waiting 5 minutes for the water to warm up. I could even forget the strange ,window looking into a rubble filled hole and the 5 power sockets in the bathroom area which were of no use at all and the holes in the ceiling but I could not put up with the lamentable space to use the toilet! It's then that you notice the poor standard of finishing throughout the hotel - perhaps that fourth point is being too generous
"A hotel past its due date"
I stayed for three nights and can't recommend for the price. The room had a window to a small opening inside the building, allowing no daylight into the room. The air in the room is stuffy. On the first morning there was no warm water coming out of the shower. Bathroom light bulb was flickering and about to go off but was not replaced even after my second request. At the breakfast all coffees from the machine tasted like hot chocolate. You can certainly get better for this price in a big city like Valencia.
After looking at many similar hotels, I decided on this one based on the price, location and breakfast room. We really enjoyed our stay. We chose one of the renovated rooms and pleased we did. The room was spacious, well designed and luxurious including chocolates on our pillows and bathrooms. Our room overlooked the little square to the front of the hotel. Some really nice touches such as complimentary cocktail and water in the room were really appreciated. A couple of issues with the room, problems getting the shower to work and no conditioner were resolved instantly after ringing reception. The common areas are really modern and comfortable. The breakfast room is brilliant on the top floor therefore has amazing views over the city. A great choice of cold dishes for breakfast and the chance to order fresh hot food too. Car parking was just around the corner and cost €20 a day. The hotel is right in the centre and a perfect location, in a lovely area.
"Great Location for Exploring the City"
WE stayed here in January for a long weekend to explore this fabulous city. This Hotel is great value for money whilst being perfectly located for exploring the city. Just a 5 minute walk from Colon Metro station or slightly longer from Valencia Nord Train Station. Easily walkable. There are also a few excellent restaurants within a few hundred yards. The hotel is clean, friendly and well appointed. My only comment was that whilst we had the room cleaned on a daily basis, they did not replace the used toiletries which was a bit frustrating as we almost ran out of soap and did run out of bath gel ( we needed a soak in a hot bath after all that walking!) I am sure however that had we called to reception they would have happily arranged for more but I felt that we should not have had to ask. There are no tea / coffee making facilities in the room we were in, but not a problem, there are plenty of coffee shops nearby.
