"Saga group - disappointing hotel."
The hotel itself is lovely in beautiful grounds, located in quiet residential are 5km north of. It's centre. (About 2 1/2 miles to walk downhill or cheap taxi ride. ) Rooms good but - bar area was closed, no lounge areas to sit. If you wanted a drink you had to go to restaurant & look for someone (some people gave up waiting). Although you may consider it 'out of season' the hotel was busy enough to warrant someone to serve drinks. Mediocre breakfast but the evening meal was appalling - Chicken Caesar salad with the chicken barely cooked!! We sent it back only for it to be returned, same salad & chicken fried till it was like pellets. We did not eat it nor paid for it. One of our group went to reception for a drink only to be told ""does this look like a bar area' Eh! Go to the restaurant"" lots of arm waving & tutting by the female receptionist! Not good first impressions.
"Very good hotel on north side of Cordoba"
Stayed for 2 nights in early January. Very happy we picked this hotel - very friendly and helpful staff, nice rooms, good breakfast (maybe avoid the coffee if you are fussy), free parking, all at a great price. When we arrived we were allocated a suite on the ground floor as an upgrade - the room was nice and spacious but a bit gloomy due to lack of light from the windows so when we asked we were moved to a higher floor room without any problem. We had lunch in the restaurant just after we arrived - it was reasonably good quality, maybe a little more expensive than what you would get in the town. The breakfast was fine - plenty of choice, mostly cold plates of meat, cheese, fruit, etc., but some hot food it you wanted it (eggs, bacon, sausage). We used the complementary shuttle to get to town in the morning and the public bus at other times - #10 bus went about every 20 minutes, bit longer in the evening. It was only 15 minutes down Brillante to get to Tejares, fare just €1.30 per person, driver will give you change. Short walk from Tejares through the shopping streets to get to the old town. Hotel was mostly quiet at the time we were there but tour parties came and went. On our last morning when we had to depart early to drive to Malaga for our flight the restaurant was packed with a tour party for breakfast with long queues for food and drinks. Luckily we had started ours early :-)
"Fantastic staff. Arrived unable to walk"
Choose the hotel for out of centre and parking as had bikes. Had bad leg infection so unable to walk or really move on arrival. Asked if had a wheelchair. No but receptionist gave us office chair on wheels, arranged ground floor room. Lovely big bathroom. Staff virtually carried me out of car into chair and back into car the next morning. Nothing was too much to do to help us. Fantastic, and thank you
"Beautiful and Quiet Hotel"
The hotel is simply beautiful. The moment you enter from the main gate you'll get a feeling that you are in a different place altogether with lush green garden and blooming flowers all around. The White colour of the main building blends so well with the colourful flowers. There's a spacious reception area with extremely friendly staff. The walk to the lift has a lounge where you can sit and relax. The hotel rooms are huge and neatly taken care of. We had a garden facing room which gave us a superb view. The morning were a treat to be standing by the window and looking out at the mountains and garden. The bathroom was equally huge with a bath tub as well as a separate shower area for a quick shower. Well equipped rooms and bath. Wifi was given to us complimentary and the speed was good. The breakfast was the best part was very filling and had plenty of options to choose from. It had enough for a veggie as well as a meat eating person. The only downside I would say is its location. Its located in a residential area which is miles away form the city center. You wont get taxi's outside the hotel unless you pre-book it which may take minimum 30 mins to come after you book it. The nearest bus-stop is like a mile away and the frequency of the buses is also less. So I would recommend this hotel only if you are up for a leisure stay and going to the town is not your priority. If you need to go the city center often, then I would recommend you should have a car.
