Recently built, Ayre Hotel Gran Vía enjoys a privileged location in Plaza de España, next to Montjuic Castle, one of the most popular tourist spots in Barcelona. The hotel is also conveniently located close to the business centre of Barcelona, the "Zona Franca", and only 15 minutes from Barcelona airport.

"Wonderful Place to Stay in Barcelona"
My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights in February 2017. Overall, a wonderful hotel and we'd stay here again. Location: This hotel is located just a 2-min walk from Plaça Espanya. The Aerobus takes you from the airport to a stop just a 1-min walk from the hotel. The hop on/hop off bus stop is just a 2-min walk. The metro station is just a 2-min walk. There's a shopping center across from the Plaça Espanya, where you'll find a grocery store to buy bottled water and other snacks. Overall, a very convenient location and a good base. However, it's not for you if you want to be in the center of the tourist action, which seems to be the La Rambla and Plaça de Catalunya area. Hotel: Wonderful hotel with amazing service. Everyone on staff was friendly and ready to assist you. This is a 5-star service hotel, without the Four Seasons price tag. Lovely people working in the breakfast room and at front desk. The rooms were nice. Hard wood floors, clean room, good amenities, and a safe in the room. They gave us 4 bottles of water (2 still, 2 sparkling) to start off with for free. We had breakfast included, and the selections were broad. We were so stuffed that we had really no need for a lunch except maybe a snack to share between us. We only had one issue one night. Our neighbors were a family with a toddler. We heard so much noise at night (like furniture moving around) and the toddler running back and forth with shoes on the hard wood flooring, we couldn't sleep. We had to call down to front desk, who promptly went to address the problem. We heard them speak to the neighbors, and it quieted down immediately. This is a hotel with pretty thin walls, so be forewarned that you may hear a bit of activity around you. If you're a light sleeper, you may be bothered by this. But let me reassure you the staff does a great job of keeping things in check. Really loved this place! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

"Very nice, new and clean hotel, perfectly located"
We really enjoyed out stay here. The hotel is new and really nice. We arrived after midnight and we welcomed by two kind receptionists. I could not think of a better position: Aerobus stop is 50 m from the hotel if you go from El Pratt airport; when you take Aerobus to the airport, you have to cross the street at Plaza Espanya. The shopping mall Las Arenas is nearby, at Plaza Espanya, there are places to eat. We came for the Barcelona football game, so it is very easy to go from Plaza Espanya both to Camp Nou (4-5 metro stations) and to the city center, at Plaza Catalunya. Metro station is 2 minutes from the hotel. The price of our stay was very convenient.
"Don't forget your iron."
Just returned from a 3 night stay here. The hotel is really nice - the lobby area, restaurant / bar and rooms are all great. The maid cleaned our room everyday during our stay and the reception staff were really helpful with any queries. The hotel is reasonably priced - the cost of our stay was great, the restaurant and bar were reasonably priced and the wifi was free which was fantastic. However... rooms do not come with an iron therefore the hotel offer an ironing service starting at 5€ per shirt. Considering the hotel is such good value and offer services like free wifi which is always a good touch.. why put a dampener on it by charging guests to iron there clothes' Personally thought that let what is a great hotel down a little. A very easy way to make money knowing that most travellers are in the city for just a few days and have travelled with hand luggage only therefore probably won't have an iron. Overall a great stay and good location - the Ramblas is just 3 stops away on the metro and buses stop right outside the hotel which go to various locations including a direct bus to the airport.
"5 days of Gaudi/museums/food!"
We chose this hotel due to location...steps from metro and busses, including hop on hop off, at Placa d' Espanya. It is modern, clean, comfortable...and wonderful breakfast buffet...for very reasonable price! Staff was unfailingly competent, helpful, and professional. Because we traveled durung a slower tourist season, there were nit huge crowds at hotel.
