Recently built, Ayre Hotel Gran Vía enjoys a privileged location in Plaza de España, next to Montjuic Castle, one of the most popular tourist spots in Barcelona. The hotel is also conveniently located close to the business centre of Barcelona, the "Zona Franca", and only 15 minutes from Barcelona airport.
Hotel situato in ottima posizione, con personale gentilissimo, camera pulita e isolamento acustico ottimo (nonostante fossimo al primo piano e fronte strada)Comment of B. ANTONELLA , Italy the 2013-11-30

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at the Ayre Gran Via in Barcelona. The location of the hotel is close to the Metro which enables you to get around the city very easily. We were unsure of ho to get to the hotel from the airport and paid €29 by taxi. If there is only two of you then use the Eurobus that picks up from both airport terminals at a cost of €5.90 each and it drops you right outside the hotel. Just tell the driver you need Espanya stop. It's easy! Across the road is a converted bull fighting arena the now is a shopping centre that has numerous restaurants at the very top giving 360 degree views of the city. The hotel itself is staffed with welcoming people and the modern rooms were immaculate. The optional breakfast was excellent. Being a 4 star rated hotel my only criticism would be lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room. On the whole a truly wonderful time and we will definitely use this hotel again.
"Awesome hotel, great location, top quality, great window view"
The hotel is very well positioned at the near the Plaza Espanya metro exit. You have the Arena and the Magic Fountain within walking proximity. The room was in my opinion 5 star quality, spacious and modern. The beds were very comfortable and the floors of the room were mopped daily! I had asked the concierge if possible to give me a window view, and she gave me a corner room on the top floor with a killer view of Barcelona. I had a church tower facing me directly with a backdrop of the city and mountains every morning upon waking up. The concierge was also very helpful in determining places to see and authentic restaurants to eat at. You won't regret staying at this hotel, I would definitely stay here again - Vale.
Stayed here one night on way to UK. Very clean, comfortable, great location. Well appointed roon, nice modern bathroom with huge shower! Staff very helpful and a fantastic breakfast with great choices. Would definitely stay here again if passing through Barcelona.
"Good place and breakfast, very bad wifi"
Good hotel not far away from an important metro station that gets you anywhere in the city. I advice you the fantastic breakfast for 13eur. Service good and staff nice. Price acceptable. Loation is a little bit too close from a main road but we didnt hear the traffic. Bad point: the wifi is horrible, very slow although we got a good reception of the signal. This is a shame the management should do sth: hard to read emails, open maps wheb you organize your tour of Barcelona. Also, room could be bigger.
"Great New Year's Eve in barcelona"
We spent 3 nights over New Year's Eve in this hotel - our second visit. We were welcomed from the moment we arrived. The reception staff spoke good English and incredibly helpful. The rooms are average size and the bathrooms very modern and clean. A good 20 minute walk to La Rambla but around the corner from plaza españa. We arrived from the airport and took the line 46 which goes direct from airport to plaza españa.
