"Dump for a Hotel"

"Just a good location"
It was supposed to be a great place to stay but hotel needs to be renovated. Room has a good space, clean but furniture is old. On the other, you will not complain once you open the windons the view is breathtaking. Staff is friendly but they should receive better training in order to provide better customer services.
Highlights: view from the bedroom on a top floor, swimming pool (and all scenario around it). Location is fine. Lowlights: quality of some services (e.g. No flexibility for a 30-minute earlier check-in), no detailed information on the SalvadorBus, long line for checkout. Fitness room could be better (the view is great, though). Hotel used to be an icon. Price is inviting. All things put together it is a good option for a couple of days in Salvador on a tight budget.
When I booked this hotel, I expected it to be a very good 5-star Resort in Salvador. The location is very good - at Ondina neighborhood - and waterfront with a spectacular ocean view (awesome sunrise and sunset). But the hotel has been a 5-star hotel long time ago. Its entrance is very huge, but makes you feel as you were in a train or a bus station. Lifts don't smell good. Carpet on floors are old fashioned. Rooms are very big, with comfortable beds, bath tube on bathrooms. Although breakfast has plenty of food options, it's not very tasty, it seems like mass production and once there was an event taking place at the hotel, breakfast room was very crowded, noisy, with lines for everything and lacking almost everything as well. We experienced the hotel's restaurant fir dinner: although staff was very kind, the restaurant does not make you feel comfortable and food seemed to be a frozen meal heated in microwave. We ordered a sandwich from Room service that has been the most awful cheeseburger on my entire life! The "bahianas" (waitresses wearing typical clothes) were very kind at breakfast... By the reception there was a lady who was selling tours. We passed by to ask some questions; she answered but with arrogance and with no kindness (she let us talking to ourselves and started taking to another person that showed up!) In my opinion, the hotel is at most a 3-star. And they should be less greedy and invest more updating it and training their star t be more kind and treat customers better. If you are planning going to Salvador think twice in choosing this hotel.
"Where to Stay in Bahia."
I enjoyed this hotel first because of the price and the size of the rooms. They have an excellent breakfast buffet. The hotel is close to the beach. Easy Check-In and Check-Out. I found a cab driver at the hotel that took me and my friends on an excellent city tour and lunch for a wonderful price.
