We were very disappointed with our room, it was very dated. The carpeting and furniture looked worn and dirty. I requested the free upgrade, but was told when checking in that it was not available. I will never make the mistake of staying in the old section of the hotel again.
Sean Mullen was our casino host--we are diamond players. We requested a suite with an adjoining room for my son and daughter. He gave us a Murphy Suite with an adjoining room. I emailed Mr. Mullen on September 14 asking him to change our reservation to a King Size bed suite with a connecting room. I advised we did not want a handicapped nor Murphy bed suite, and if he could not get a connecting room, a room in close proximity would be fine. He left us in a Murphy suite--the toilet was cracked and the wallpaper was peeling off behind the toilet. I don't believe a diamond player nor anyone should be assigned to a room in this condition!
Visited Bally's on our trip to Vegas, was one of the casinos that we played slots and tables and had some fun. Had your typical slots, husband enjoyed the fact that the tables started out low so the $$ didn't disappear fast. We didn't spend the night here so we couldn't rate the hotel for you.
"Excellent location on the strip"
My husband & I stayed at Bally's for 3 nights Sept 22-25/16. We had booked a room in the Indigo Tower but when we checked in we asked if we could stay in the Jubilee Tower instead, as my sister & brother in law had booked a room in that tower. We were pleasantly surprised to be able to upgrade to that tower & to have our room just down the hall from them. We were also offered a voucher for $18.00 per day to use at Bally's Java Coast or Nosh. We used it at Nosh for breakfast sandwiches & coffee/juice and at Java Coast for late night coffees & cookies. Bally's is in an excellent location on the strip - everything we needed was an easy walk. There is a great selection for shopping (Miracle Mile Shops), Walgreens/CVS, restaurants, activities and bars. Our room had been renovated & we had a very comfortable king size bed, large flat screen tv, fridge, safe & comfy seating area overlooking our large window which faced the Paris Hotel (pool area as well)/Eiffel Tower & partial view of the Bellagio fountains. We were very happy with our room & it was spotlessly cleaned daily. On the weekend there was loud music playing from the Eiffel Tower bar (until 3:00 am) but it didn't keep us awake - it may bother some so a room further away from the strip might suit some guests better. Since we don't gamble, I can't comment on the casino, other than it was loud & smokey each time we walked through it. The resort fee of $32.50 per day gives you access to the pool & gym. We couldn't use the pool one day as it was closed due to high winds but the day we did use it by 11:00 am it was at capacity & they wouldn't allow anyone else in. The only shade was with a rented cabana & the water temperature in the pool was quite cold. They have 2 life guards on duty & the tram runs right above & along the pool area. Music was being played quite loud & guests were taking advantage of the poolside drink service. While you're given a map of the property when you check in we still had to ask someone where the pool was - it is quite far from the Jubliee Tower - about a 7 minute walk through the casino, down an escalator & through some shops/food court. The spa is located along the way, as is the tram stop (which is handy). One morning we had the buffet breakfast at Buca di Beppo which was pretty good ($17.50 per person). We had lunches & dinners off the property. When we return to Vegas we would definitely consider staying at Bally's again. The price was very reasonable, great location & clean rooms. They are opening a Giordano's pizza right outside the hotel which will be a nice dining option.
"should be your last choice in hotels"
Stayed at Bally's for a conference. First thing you notice is how dingy the place is. every inch of the interior is old, worn out, scuffed, and screaming to be repaired/upgraded/cleaned. However, you get what you pay for and the room was inexpensive. the biggest negative is the terrible service. Be prepared for lines everywhere. at the front desk, the cashier, the bar, the food, they usually have the least amount of staff possible working, often only 1, and thus long lines. I called room service one morning for the continental breakfast which in the book "was free if it takes longer then 30 minutes". the room service tells me they aren't honoring this because its take up to an hour. Never will stay here again.
