"Magical desert experience - luxury and exquisite nature"
We treated ourselves to a night in a large tented villa with its own private infinity pool. The quality of the villa was outstanding with beautiful views of the dunes, sunsets, full moon and sunrise. The surrounding nature resort is beautiful with gazelles and oryx roaming around. The rainforest spa experience is amazing and our massage therapists Nina and Shelby were top notch. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The activities program is also very interesting - the falconer Rebecca is superb as was Gabriel's nature walk - very informative and interesting. managers Jiuju and Katherine were super helpful with our reservations. The Safran restaurant for dinner is a must do - unique location and fab food.
"Nice but don't forget anything in your room when you check out."
Three different experiences here. Check in: a woman not familiar with the systems, not clear on her brief, and blocking on the credit card more than what required, by mistake. Stay: Villas are great, room service efficient, restaurant service and food excellent. After stay: i forgot my Logitech Boom Speaker in the villa and i realized only when I unpacked at home. I called and they told me that the Lost And Found was closed. I call next day and the response is that nothing was reported as found. I say if nothing was reported then it was taken. I am asked to call again in the afternoon after a new visit in the villa. When I call later in the evening a new guest is already in and can not be disturbed. I am requested to call some gentleman heading the Housekeeping service next day. I called for two days, he never picked up the call. I wrote an email to firstname.lastname@example.org but despite the name of the mailbox they didn’t care. Someone is now enjoying my Logitech speaker. Just a small part of the experience, but enough to black list the place.
"Nice luxury resort in desert"
The hotel just switched from the Banyan tree to the Ritz Carlton group. It needs some small renovation to the rooms and public areas although it certainly is not extremely bad or anything like that at all! The villas are spacious and all with private pool. The food in the Thai restaurant was wonderful, sitting under the stars. Magical! The food in the main restaurant was also nice but the service was horrible, the people were very friendly but it took ages to get something. We waited for more then one hour to get our lunch. There are lots of bikes available to get around the resort or you can have a golf cart pick you up. Both is fine and very quick. Two days is long enough to stay there. These two days were very relaxing though!
This is a very beautiful resort with so much attention to detail. Stayed in two room categories and the tented villa was just amazing! Service is wonderful and I highly recommend the rainforest experience! It's an usual and unforgettable spa treatment, quite reasonably priced and you feel very relaxed at the end. I would love to come back soon!
"Not good enough!"
Let me share here the feedback provided face-to-face with the management after a two nights stay between Christmas and new year. Let s start with the positive points: - location is less than 90mns from Dubai - the environment is calm - the location is a desert with villas having good views - the swimming pool is well thought through - it is also very spacious - the food is of adequate quality Let me add that the comments below are made on the understanding that this hotel is no longer called banyan tree, but it claims instead to be a ritz Carlton partner. Al Wadi desert is the name. - the desert is not as spectacular as Liwa, but more annoyingly there are cables, empty water bottles that you can actually see from the villa- that is sad, and spoiled the experience for me - the cleaning is good overall, but not perfect. I found dead insects in certain corners, which is not acceptable considering the price charged per night - the lamps outside broke several times, possibly due to electricity problems, but again at these prices, you expect more - the waiting time for a coffee or a tea at breakfast is unacceptably long, and spoil the experience I found The management listened and took actions by offering us the two diners. They apologized and recognized there is a gap for them to be branded Ritz Carlton. The place has potential, and I hope the management of this hotel will succeed I making the changes required to deliver a superior experience.
