"Wow What A View"
The Banyan Tree Bangkok is an excellent hotel. From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel welcome. Staff are attentive, efficient & friendly. Our room was elegant & comfortable. Go to the roof top venues of Moon Bar & Vertigo where the 360 views over the city are spectacular. The outdoor pool on 21st floor isn't huge but has great views across the city. There was no downside to this hotel!
"Club Serenity is well worth the cost"
During our trip to Thailand we stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and then for an additional night after a trip to the River Kwai area. Staying in a Club Serenity room on both occasions brought benefits. For example, complimentary afternoon tea and then early evening cocktails and canapés were served on the 19th floor as part of the package. Given the high costs of all drinks and food throughout this city hotel, this was a worthwhile benefit. Breakfast could also be eaten in this floor. All the Club rooms are located on high floors and we stayed on the 50th and 56th floors during our stays. Given the heavy traffic and that the noise of this could still be heard this high up, I would assume that staying on the lower floors would be very noisy! The gym (located in 21st floor) was adequately equipped with well maintained cardio machines and free weights so if a workout is important to you, this is certainly better than some hotel gyms that I have used. In terms of location, this hotel is situated in the financial area. If you are visiting as a tourist, you might find it better to choose a hotel nearer the cultural spots. That said, even allowing for the additional traffic following the recent death of the King, we were able to get to most attractions either by tuk tuk (agree your price before getting in), taxi or sky train. There was free wifi although we did experience a problem in the first room in which we stayed. This was rectified reasonably swiftly although the connection was rather intermittent. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and are very pleased that we opted for a Club room. It is costly but then it should be borne in mind that this is a city location and there has been a recent and significant drop in the value of the pound. I have reviewed the restaurants in which we dined separately.
Room nice and on high level so good view of town. Housekeeping service very nice and plenty of amenities in the bathroom. Pool albeit a bit small but does the job. Rooftop bar busy as usual, no priority given to in house guests which I understand. Real grip is with the front desk. Not friendly upon check in, confirmed welcome drink not served and upon check out no conversation whatsoever except "sign here" to settle the payment. Won't stay again because of frokt desk and location is not convenient for my needs as no close access to the trains.
"Worth Paying for Club Class"
Stayed at this hotel for our Ruby Wedding and paid for the club class. For the extra we stayed on the 57th Floor with a great view over Bangkok. The breakfast was on the 19th floor. Included for the club class was afternoon tea and canapés from 5-7pm. Due to the excellent food and from 5-7pm you can have cocktails, wine, beer and Proseco we never had to buy any food out. We did reserve a meal at Vertigo which was a big disappointment. I have already put on a review of this evening which completely ruined out anniversary meal. Very luxurious hotel, it was a shame that the service and food at Vertigo spoiled it.
My friend & myself stay there for 2 nights. Elegant room with comfy bed. Friendly staffs who also provide good service. Good choice & varieties of food for breakfast. Location of hotel is quite a distance from the BTS station. The roof top restaurant serves good food & has magnificent night scenery which is worth the visit.
