El hotel es precioso, las habitaciones amplias, acogedoras, limpias, bonitas, con todos los requerimientos necesarios. El personal es muy amable, servicial, atento, resuelve lo que necesites.Comment of O. Norma , Mexico the 2015-10-21
"Look no further"
We've stayed at several five star resorts in the Caribbean and around the world and the Banyan Tree Mayakoba is darn close to perfect. Beautiful setting, magnificent suites, superb hospitality, great food at a not outrageous price. What more could one ask for' This is one spot we can recommend with confidence. We'll be back!
"Great stay at Banyan Tree! "
We went on a family holiday to Banyan Tree Mayakoba where we stayed in a three bed family residence for 11 nights. We had a great time there overall and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The villas are very comfortable and luxurious. The bedrooms and living area as well as pool are all fantastic. The bathrooms are good too but a little dated would be the only slight criticism I have of the villas themselves. The staff are attentive to your every need and incredibly friendly and warm - the person in charge of the bikes, the buggy drivers, chefs/ restaurant managers, and hotel managers. There was an evening drinks cocktail reception which management arranged and was very nice. The food is excellent throughout the resort and I particularly enjoyed the Sands beach club and La Toca for lunch (La Toca has the best Mexican food). The room service options are delicious. Breakfast included a range of options and was very tasty, and the Saffron restaurant was great. In regards the kids club we found that to be one of the best aspects of the resort. We travelled with our two kids aged 5 and 8 years old. Maggie who runs the place was delightful. They run various activities every day and the kids thoroughly enjoyed the beach activities and piñata making. The actual kids club itself is a small room by the pool. I think the hotel would be wise to consider expanding it to make it a bit bigger. Maggie and the management laid on a fantastic Easter Egg Hunt one day which the kids loved. The kids did a pastry class which was a great experience for them as well, and the red velvet cookies they made were super tasty and lasted days. The whole resort is in an area of outstanding natural beauty beyond anything that words or pictures can describe. This is the overarching selling point of the resort. The Mayakoba area has an incredible range of flora and fauna. We saw crocodiles, turtles, raccoons, iguanas, a range of amazingly beautiful birds and other animals around. The golf course is really excellent, we got a deal playing daily for one week. We thoroughly enjoyed that experience. The spa was excellent as well and the experiences very good. The rainforest experience is quite unique and very enjoyable. In regards the bikes I take issue with the policy the hotel has that they don't give kids bikes for "security reasons". At neighbouring hotels kids get bikes and ride around everywhere. Kids love riding bikes so it's a bit insensitive in my view to let the parents ride bikes but leave the kids out. I think this is the main issue I feel needs to be addressed by the hotel. That said they managed as an exception to find some old kids bikes for us which was nice of them to do, and we did enjoy riding around on the bikes around the hotel and the nature trails. The bikes they gave were in a bad state though and the chain kept coming off on my daughters bike, they really need to introduce a kids bike system/ policy and get some decent bikes in! Apart from the bike issue overall I would say Banyan Tree Mayakoba is an amazing resort and we had a great time there. Particular thanks to Ingo and his hospitality whilst we were there. I also found Victor, Sous Chef to be a delightful person.
"Stunning hotel with perfect servie"
I have just spent 4 days at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba, a beautifully designed hotel with stunning beach in the Mayakoba park. The staff are among the friendliest and most attentive that I have met anywhere in the world, going out of their way to ensure that we could have the best holiday possible.
"A Peaceful Exclusive Resort"
I have stayed here six times from their first inaugural opening year and this hotel has never disappointed. I’ve been a fan of the Banyan Tree properties from the east for many years and was very excited that they were opening in this hemisphere. The spa is absolutely fabulous. You must try the Rainforest Indulgence experience and have a Balinese Massage. I just had the most wonderful massage by Ing the other day, I couldn’t thank her enough for relaxing my tight muscles. If you like tequila the tequila tasting is very informative and of course you taste different tequilas, my husband and I enjoyed it very much. If you love Thai food the cooking class is mandatory. When the hotel originally opened the food at Saffron was very authentic Thai. In my opinion it has been somewhat watered down to accommodate the American/Western palate. The cooking class will allow you to cook and taste the authentic Thai food/flavor you wish were served during dinner at Saffron. I would recommend dining at Cello unless you venture to one of the surrounding properties or spend the evening in Playa del Carmen. They also have bikes assigned to certain villas (as this is a large property) and it’s nice to bike your way around this place. The beach area is very rocky so just create a Corona moment on the comfortable loungers while you are on the beach. Enjoy the Sands restaurant for lunch while at the beach, the margarita’s and tacos are heavenly. The boat takes you to the beach and back or you can call for a cart to take you. . We’ve traveled with friends and stayed in the serenity two bedroom pool villa and with family in the three bedroom family residence however the sanctuary pool villa is the best room on the property for couples. The bedroom is so spacious. The bedroom doors slide where you can step down directly into the private pool or go to the hammock which also has a separate entrance to the pool. The bathroom has a double vanity, a rain shower or spicket shower with a bench. The bathroom also has an outside section with a granite tub and al fresco shower my husband’s all time favorite. I don’t know what it is with men and showering outside, they seem to go crazy over it like cats and cat nip. For a fee the hotel will light up the tub wall and create a very romantic tub experience for you. The separate lounge area across your courtyard has a very spacious and soft sectional with a table, coffee maker, fridge and plasma TV. You can rent DVD movies from the lobby to watch. The atmosphere and amenities that this room offers will definitely make you feel that type of way toward your significant other. This place gives you all the ammunition in the world to be romantic
"Excellent .... but ...."
The Bayan tree in playa del carmen is extraordinary...., the only additional comment to this great hotel is that if you have little children, the privacy of your villa is not so relevant. I have been to spa massages in asia and the spa is probably one the best, if not the best you will know !!!
