The Hotel is beautiful no doubt. Value for money is zero. For a thousand dollars this was a joke. I would have been more satisfied if it was 500 for the quality of service. They gave us a free dinner at saffron and it was a set dinner. Every small thing asked was extra and we were treated as if we were eating free. Very disappointed after spending so much. I am giving 3 stars because of the property otherwise service is 0 star. Thai people are nice overall, hence 3 stars.
This hotel really is stunning, relaxing and picturesque. The pool area is empty as villas have their own pools, plus one pool is reserved for adults only. The spa was excellent if a little bit on the pricey side. Restaurants are also good; saffron for nice thai and Sunday brunch at the waterfront was excellent. The brunch focused on seafood with lobster, crab, prawns, sushi and oysters in abundance. It's a shame the have black out periods to use the Entertainer offer, which really should only exclude special occasions such as Christmas and new year.
Third visit, and stayed in a Signature Two Bedroom villa, which appeared to have been recently renovated. Villa was superb, with very large sitting room in addition to 2 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms, plus outside bath and 2 outside showers. Good a/c and fans. Kitchenette was well stocked. Perfectly sized pool, and jacuzzi outside too. Plenty of space in the garden for sun and shade at all times of the day, and even though the villas are grouped in eg 4's, you rarely heard your neighbours, whether inside or outside. The hotel in general was in good shape, and we used our complimentary bicycles to cycle around all day, and off property to restaurants. Played tennis and golf. We were there for Christmas and the hotel put on a number of well thought out events and surprises. The Christmas Day Brunch was superb. Staff were universally excellent, with particular thanks to Mauw and Rosanila in the Watercourt. Staff were very responsive to queries and requests, and the highly professional General Manager was very visible and hands on. The only downside is the beach area. All beaches in Thailand are public and this limits what the hotel can do as regards umbrellas and beach service etc. and the hotel doesn't actually front onto the beach (there is a quiet local road to cross). The only shade therefore is the trees set back from the beach and the chairs and beach service etc are not what you would expect from a 5 star resort, particularly if you are used to eg. Caribbean / Maldives /Mauritius beach resorts. If the beach is important to you then this could be an issue. The hotel has just opened a new restaurant / bar right on the edge of the hotel, close to the beach. There are also several good local Thai beach restaurants, and a good small local beach massage outfit, within walking distance, or a few minutes cycle. These are periodically demolished by the Thai army in an attempt to keep the beaches pristine, but it seems they spring up again. We had a a fantastic holiday.
"Almost perfect until now "
We've enjoyed almost every aspect of our visit until now - service has been perfect, spa experience heavenly, breakfast spread amazing - then the phones in our villa stopped working and we realized that's a major loophole in the whole villa experience. Tried for an hour to reach the operator and buggy service but to no avail - could not make our dinner reservation and had to trek to the lobby ourselves to get help. Hubby managed to step out and wave down a buggy who was fetching someone else - he promised to come back to get us but didn't!!! So from 5 stars I have to bring it down a notch to 4. I hope they fix our phone by tonight because I do not relish walking with our luggage tomorrow

Not five star quality. Certainly not for the price. Stay somewhere else. Ripped bedding Broken pool edgings in villa (two bed signature villa) Mould in showers. Generally tired villa decor. Missing TV off the wall in lounge. Inconsistent food quality in restaurants Poor service. Left the hotel early despite 100% charge for remaining nights.
