We stayed for 9 days at the Banyan and enjoyed ourselves a lot! We came with a 4 months old baby and received special attention from the staff which are the nicest! Our villa's manager Sai was the best and helped us a lot! We would definitely come backComment of W. Yaniv , Israel the 2016-10-29
"Value to Experience & Service Lacking"
For the amount you pay for your stay here and what you get for your money doesn't add up at all! If this was a $200/night hotel I would give it four stars. First off we had so many issues with our room that it got to the point where asked to be moved but the resort was fully booked so not an option. Problems listed: 1). Light would turn on randomly throughout the night so you have to get up to turn them back off constantly being awoken. Some lights wouldn't even turn on even when the master was on, but had no trouble turning on when master was off. 2). Took a hot shower and that set off a fire alarm twice each time rushed out of a relaxing shower 3). They have buggies that take you from point A to B the wait for that is long and the eta given was always wrong. The property is fairly large so depending on where your room is it can take up to 20 minutes to walk to the lobby to catch a taxi so your stuck. Should have an option to rent a golf cart. 4). Pool lights & outdoor lights don't turn on till well into the dark, 7pm is when they turn on automatically but it was dark by 5 so two hours of darkness. 5). Our entertainment center stopped working two days into our stay resulting in the system having to be completely removed a new installed. 6). On-Site restaurants food was sub-par costly and not that great overall and the service was slow too slow. 7). The free breakfast was nice but I've had better but was free none-the-less 8). Private pools are not heated but we're great for refreshing and some what invigorating dip. I do have to say the property grounds are well kept, and the butler or villa host that you're appointed to are very attentive but not always helpful. We heard a lot of no's sorry not possibles from the workers on the property which isn't welcoming when your on vacation. Overall - The only way I would stay here again is if it was a fully complementary stay with paid airfare for a revised review.
"A little slice of Heaven"
This resort really is exceptional. We stayed in one of the Horizon Hillcrest Villas and it was incredible. Awakening to the spectacular sunrise over the ocean and slipping straight from the bedroom into the private infinity pool was just divine. If you like a bit of luxury, start saving now because it really is worth it. The staff are one of the best assets at Banyan Tree, nothing was too much trouble and they are so friendly. Afternoon cocktails on the private beach are a must, but take up the opportunity to go into Chaweng or Lamai on their free shuttle service and check out the beaches and experience more of the Thai culture in town. Overall, I would recommend Banyan Tree Samui to anyone that is prepared to spend a little extra for perfection.
"Fabulous place to stay"
We stay here for 10 days and we were very impressed with lots of things even if some details were not always perfect. I think whats come up first it is the staffs and management who are always present and looking after you. Thanks to Kwan who just was the perfect host villa. She was always a head of what we needed. Remko the General Manager was always present and friendly too. When you arrive, they ask you all sort of question to give you the best stay in the villa, from the choice of pillow, bedding or aromatic smell. You are given a mobile phone to have a direct access to your host, 24 h a day. Hill Crest Villa was just like on their website. Spacious, comfortable, everything you need is here including mosquito spray for your body! The outside is very well thinking with sun bed, pool, table , etc. Wifi was working perfectly in most places too. Most of the time buggy comes in no more that 10 min to take you where you want. We had a few room service and it was delivery hot and tasty with a nice choice in the menu. The restaurants were good, but compare to the level of service in the hotel I wouldn't say that was the best.Sometime it was good and sometime so so. One night we also had a photo taking at the restaurant who was given to us as a souvenir, very touching gesture. We did organise a trip around island with the hotel car and was just perfect. 5 hours in your private cool minibus with some softs drinks, pic-nique and a lovely lady "Tic" who was very friendly and new very well her job. Definitely recommended and it was only around £120. The transfer limousine was also very well organise and I would do it again. Another thing really amazed me was on our last day, Kwan had organise our boarding pass for airport and organise for us to stay later in the villa. That was such a good thing! It is a pricy hotel but it is definitely the best here in Samui and I will definitely will go back. Thanks to all the team for that lovely stay, the Boys from jersey.
My fiancé and I travel to a new country every other month and decided to go to Thailand for a few days this holiday. We only stayed 3 days and wish we had more time. The staff was beyond helpful and did everything possible to ensure our stay was perfect. It was!!!! Our villa and view was indescribable! Everything was amazing. The little buggies they drive you around on are so fun! Be sure the make dinner reservations at each of the restaurants. We will be back!
"Christmas in Banyan Tree Samui"
The resort is beautiful, management friendly. The biggest disappointment was restaurants quality and servive level. Alcohol beverages are very middle range and well overpriced (Maledives Prices). Anyhow if somebody is looking for relax, nice spa and good accomodation, this place is worth recommendation.
