Très bel hotel design, matériaux de qualité, service agréable. Flexibilité: on a pu laisser notre voiture dans le parking après le check-out jusqu'en fin d'après-midi.Comment of M. Christophe , Belgium the 2013-08-20
"Winter City Break"
Boutique Hotel, lives up to expectations from photos. Stylish decor accompanied friendly helpful staff. 5 minute walk to train station that can get you to Ghent & Brugge as well as having airport shuttle outside. The only slight downfall is Hotel area in general, the walk into centre does take you through some of the less beautiful parts of Brussels.. However we would definitely stay again!
"A memorable and thoroughly enjoyable stay"
We have been fortunate enough to stay in quite a few different hotels across Europe and this is a really ‘stand-out’ one. From the moment we arrived through the sleek sliding doors, we were immediately and warmly welcomed by the reception desk staff. Once we had been informed about the breakfast times and offered maps of the area we headed for the lift and our rooms. Admittedly some of the décor is a bit random (by the lift there are a couple of babies climbing up the wall – yes, you are reading this right!!) but once in the lift and gliding up to our floors, the views of the stylish Hotel layout bought everything in to perspective. Upon arriving at our floor we headed to our rooms, we were a party of 6 adults and had been allocated a triple room (402), a single room (410) and a double room (401). We were issued with really easy to use room key cards which worked off a simple Wifi signal (or something like that) so all you had to do was simply brush it past the door mechanism giving us an effortless entry in to our rooms. I was staying in the triple room and so will describe this one in more detail however; for your reference purposes, the single and double rooms were some of the largest we have ever seen. I believe that the single room just had a shower but the double and the triple rooms had a bath and shower. As for the triple room, it was huge! Upon entering the room, you walk in to a ‘lounge’ with a sofa which doubles up as the 3rd person’s bed as well as a large wardrobe with hanging space and shelves, a large safe, a chargeable minibar, a TV, chest of drawers, coffee table, excellent air conditioning and a desk and chair. Although this sounds like a lot of furniture, we still had a lot of room to store our 3 suitcases, shopping each day and have plenty of room to move around without tripping over anything! The bedroom and lounge area were separated by sliding wooden doors which gave added privacy and was a cleverly thought out touch. The ‘double/queen’ bed was very large and extremely comfortable (as was the sofa bed) with pristine white bed linen. There were bed side tables, storage seats underneath them, a good sized bedside laminated clock and a large wooden bed frame. Now, here’s my only negative point and this comes with a warning, mind your legs as you walk round the bed as the bed frame sticks out slightly from the mattress and due to the luxurious bedding slightly hiding this frame, we all banged our shins at one point or another during our stay! Moving on now to the bathroom, there’s a glass partition between the bedroom and the bathroom with extremely good ventilation so never once did the bedroom suffer from having steam in it despite 3 people showering/bathing one after the other! There was a huge bath which you had to climb in to, a rainforest shower head above the bath and the water pressure and heat were maintained throughout our stay and remained unchanged whatever the time of day or night they were used. The toilet was small and separate to the glass fronted shower/bath area (as you would expect) but it was exceptionally clean and functional. In the bathroom there was an abundance of complimentary shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and soap as well as a vanity set and shower cap. There was also a hairdryer, bath robe, extremely soft and luxurious towels and slippers all making the room feel like a home-from-home! After an amazingly good and quiet nights sleep (which we didn’t think possible due to being off of a side street close to a main road and near the station), we went to breakfast which was served from 7am until about 10.30am. We were always there as soon as it opened as we had lots of sights we wanted to see and things to do. We were always warmly welcomed and offered tea, coffee, (including decaf) and while this was being prepared, we were invited to help ourselves to the delightful spread which was available! There was fresh orange or grapefruit juice, yogurts (in lots of different flavours), toast, jams/honey, pastries/cakes/sweets, fresh and dried fruits and nuts, an abundance of cereals and on the weekend there were waffles and pancakes! There was also hams, sausages, scrambled eggs and bacon as well as rolls and cheeses. I am probably missing out on some items but I think you get the idea that there was definitely something to suit everyone and as a party of 6 adults of various ages – we all had no problem eating our fill!! I briefly touched on the Hotels location but we thought that it was extremely good. A very short walk (approximately 5-10 minutes at a leisurely pace) up a well lit and safe street enables you to reach the Midi station (which offer frequent trains to places like Bruges and Antwerp) and if you walk in the other direction, you can get to the main sights and attractions after about 10-15 minutes (or you can take the metro which is also really close by). I cannot recommend this Hotel highly enough, nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel so welcome. The Hotel was always kept in a meticulous condition and this was highlighted in their attention to detail and style throughout. If we are ever in Brussels again, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else!
I was generally pleased with the Hotel and Staff. Location is reasonable with a 10minute walk into the centre. The hotel is black themed and low lit, which gives a slightly erotic style to the place. This was good for us, but not really a family hotel. Breakfast selection was reasonable but the hot dishes were cold on both occasions. Main reason for the low score is there was a mix up on the bookings with our friends and they were given a key to somone else's room! Very embarrassing!
"Great Hotel "
Really good hotel, great rooms and really friendly staff. Located 5 minutes walk from Brussels Midi so really handy for the Eurostar. Lemonnair Metro stop is also 5 minutes away and will take less than 10 minutes to the Centre of town for 2 euros.
"Perfect for weekend visit"
This is a very luxurious hotel. It has quirky art and is dark, but thats just the style. The beds are comfy, it is incredibly clean and breakfast is a perfectly fine buffet. It is 5 minute walk from Brussels Midi so perfect for arriving by Eurostar. Whilst there isn't much going on immediately around the hotel, across the road is the Metro which takes you to the very centre of Brussels in less than three mins for 2 euros each journey. Or walk in 20 mins! Would definitely stay again.
