"A real 5 star!"
We stayed there last week for 5 days and really it exceeded our expectations. Perfectly located in the center, yet face to the lake of Geneva, offering fantastic views to the Cathedral, the Mont Blanc and of course the lake. The inside of the hotel is like a palace with excellent decorations and antiques. The staff from the room service to the concierge is extremely polite and helpful. Generally they give attention to small details that make the difference. The basket of fresh selected fruits was always full in our room and with anything we ordered at room service a little vase with fresh flowers was coming together. In the bathroom they have products of good quality such as Clarins. The only problem was that with such a nice room and pampering it was hard to leave the hotel and walk to the City!
"Short stay in Geneva"
We were in Geneva for a brief visit, and stayed at the Beau Rivage. A lovely hotel on the shore of the lake, this is an exceptional place to stay. The location is wonderful, within easy walking distance of Les Mouettes, as well as the old city. I could go on about the quality of the food in the bar, the furnishings, etc., but many of these are expected in a hotel of this stature. However, what we very much enjoyed, and what is distinctive about the Beau Rivage, is the obvious pride taken by the staff. This may sound sentimental, but everyone from the concierge to the bell hops seemed to very much to be invested in the hotel. This is an outstanding property and hotel, as evidenced by the number of awards. What is not as common, though, is a staff that so effortlessly works to provide the utmost in hospitality.
"Magnificent historical property with excellent service"
The Beau Rivage is a beautifully-maintained historical property owned by the same family for more than a century. This is a real gem of a hotel that is conveniently and scenically located by the lake (10min walk from Geneva station and to the main city). I especially appreciated the historically sympathetic interior design, with antique-style furniture with centuries-old books casually placed on them for you to admire on your way to the room. Unfortunately, the Christmas decorations were a bit modern with the pink lights and out of place in the courtyard which is otherwise a very elegant part of the lobby. However, the antique lamps, tables, mantles etc were truly a feast for the eyes My room was of a generous size, with a beautifully appointed bathroom with all the amenities one could expect at a luxury hotel. There wasn't much of a view out of the window but the beautiful interior design made up for it. The service was outstanding, with very attentive and friendly staff at reception who were delighted to be of any assistance and made my solo stay a pleasant one. The small display case containing real-life historical relics of Kaiserin Elisabeth was also fascinating, reminding you of the historical significance of the hotel, as it was where the celebrated Empress died in her suite after being stabbed by a terrorist. I felt the decor of the restaurant where breakfast is served could be improved. It's an average modern style design which doesn't match the rest of the hotel. But hats off for the Christofle cutlery! Overall, I would highly recommend the Beau Rivage especially to aesthetes with refined, classical tastes and would happily return when I next visit Geneva. It's not difficult to see why it was patronised by the likes of Kaiserin Elisabeth and the Maharajah of Patiala.
"Business trip "
I have been here several times - alone and with my wife. Every time it was very pleasant period of Geneva life. It's very nice place in the center of Geneva on river bank with good view from window. Very friendly service.
"luxury historical hotel - at the best location of geneva"
beau ravage is one of a small number of exclusive luxury historical hotels - the grand dames of Europe. this combines modern luxury with meaningful history. even the Austrian empress sisi was a guest here. it's location is the best location of Geneva, with unmatched views of the lake, the old city, the mountains and the icon of Geneva - jet d'eau. (this is not the situation for almost all other luxury hotels of the city, that's why we choose it). we reserved a room with lake view and the view is really superb and the room modern and comfortable. the free boat is adjacent to the hotel and we made an easy tour of the old city, by foot. the staff is excellent and the hotel really deserves to be a part of the leading hotels of the world.
