"Good Hotel but at the end of the hotel zone"
I enjoyed my stay at BelAir. If your looking for relaxation you're right here. As its at the end of the hotel zone it's a 15-20 mins ride to shopping malls eg. But still great value for a small price.
"A shot getaway"
Everyone was really nice Elizabeth from the front desk was great very helpful. Our waiters Angel and I want to say it was Jose they were awesome . It was decent nothing luxurious but for the price it was real good deal.
"Dip your toe in...."
I'm dreaming of going back to the "more private" atmosphere, "very pampering" restaurant staff and overall "personalizing" experience of a very commercialized, affordable and beautifully beached get-away like Cancun. Let's face it, it is a long stretched street of forgettable hotels fronts with promises in their names. Perhaps the names describe the trees cut down or wildlife cleared in order to create this destination beside white sand and ocean. The sand is a great texture made of ground coral not unlike coffee grains, which love your feet as you walk. Now... the Bel Air Collection is filled with serving staff who try to meet your wants and needs for a beautiful vacation, without messing it up and taking it to the impersonal. It was the best.
"We had a GREAT time..."
We spent a week at Bel Air, Cancun 9/29-10/06. We were warmly greeted by the bellmen who took our bag and directed us to check-in. Adiel looked after the paperwork & surprised us with a comp upgrade to oceanfront. We arrived to suite 5507; it was larger than most, King bed, couch and deck with an amazing view over the pool and sea. WOW ! We chg'd & headed off to the beach. We met Efrain who looked after our drinks and snacks while we sat back and enjoyed the view. We went with the all-inclusive; meals are menu service with lots of choices and the food was great ! Yes, you do 'get a bill' to sign for food/snacks/drinks but, folks, this is not a game-breaker, some guests don't select the AI pkg. We absolutely loved a week @ the beach with sunny 30C temps and mod winds...& the "recliners" are very comfortable. The B.A is not a mega resort; you can enjoy the sea [its the Caribbean Sea, it really is the blues & greens you see in the pics], the beach, the infinity pool, ~150 suites, no kids, there is beach volleyball, music 9-6 by the pool (& not pounding, heavy bass stuff). There is no disco or casino so its quiet in the evening...but after a 'hard day at the beach' then off to dinner, it's an early night which is OK-get up early and enjoy sunrise ! PS - the main dining is split between Mexican & International and the food in both was terrific or try the Sushi...we did twice, both times amazing ! As for the property itself, yes, she is 'showing her age' however, we did observe renos on-going, some noise of course but not a deal-breaker. There is ample staff on duty and we found the floors and grounds very clean !!! Our suite was well maintained by Juanicity (sp') & NO critters !!! Our most sincere thanks to the Mgmt and staff of the B.A for a very enjoyable and relaxing...see you again soon. And , I would be remiss if I did not take the time to identify those on the staff who made our time great: to Adiel in Reception, Raul, our server for breakfast, Eduardo @ Lobby bar, to Irving, Uriel, Enmanuel & Efrain-bartenders & servers extraordinaire looking after the beach and pool and to Rudolpho & Angel in the Mexican and International dining rooms. Its these kind of people who go the extra mile, always with a warm greeting, that really make it a WOW experience. And for those wondering about the lovely Marisela, she is now serving brkfst, lunch etc in the dining room...well done M.
Excellent service, at the swimming pool. Valentin, Efrain and Emmanuel were amazingly great. Looking forward to meeting them again. The romantic massage was to die for. The food is also great. And the view surpasses everything.
