"Spectacular and unique location"
We picked this hotel as our base to visit and enjoy the amazing Iguazu Falls. I don't think the location gets any better than this - having dinner on the balcony of the hotel with the falls in the background! The service was excellent and catered well for young kids. The atmosphere is relaxed within an 'old worldly' style setting. The rooms are generous in size and very comfortable. There is a lovely pool, which is a nice alternative (or a break) from doing all the activities that are on offer. The hotel and the National Park seem to have a very well coordinated set of activities to make the most of your stay.
Great place, Great service, Great food - would I come back' YES! You have the Iguazu park for your self between 5pm and 9am - so nice! In house provider of tours and last but nyt least - the internet connection was fine :-)
"Amazing hotel in classic spot"
We stayed two nights and loved the experience. The rooms are nice; the common areas delightful and the position quite incredible. Going to Iguacu, you should stay here. The service at all levels was terrific - they even cleaned my muddy boots for me. But after 6.00 PM you essentially have the falls from the Brazilian side to yourself - and incredible experience..
"Location is everything! "
After a 3 month tour of Latin America, this was the highest class hotel we stayed in by a long way. The staff worked very hard to maintain the wow factor and were extremely helpful, the facilities are the best we encountered and the location (which is why you're there) could not be bettered. The ability to visit the falls alone after the hoards have gone, or before they arrive, makes any minor issues seem irrelevant and the hotel can help you with activities and transfers to Argentina etc. if needed. Minor issues' On a personal note, the obsequiousness of the staff started to jar after a while; do I need to know the name of every member of staff I meet' Perhaps more relevantly, we had booked a 3 night stay, 7 months in advance, but on arrival found we'd been allocated a room with a view of the chain-link fence around the staff carpark. The sign on the window encouraging us to enjoy the view but keep the window shut didn't help! To their credit, when we pointed this out at checkout time, the hotel cancelled the cost of our final evening meal but it might be wise to check in advance if the view is important to you (and at the price, it could be). However, taking everything into account, we're more than happy we decided to stay here rather than outside the park.
"Worth it for exclusive access to Falls in evening/early morning."
This hotel is worth the money for the location inside the National Park and the fact that you can easily walk to all the Falls on the Brazilian side without a guide. Don't bother with a guide as only one easy trail. Also, even better-you can go down out of park hours. We got up at 7am and had the falls totally to ourselves. It was utterly magical and only on our walk back did we see a few more people from the hotel coming down. A total contrast to the bus loads of people later that day. The hotel is good -although even the superior rooms are small. The staff are friendly, helpful and service is excellent. We were offered free late checkout to 2pm which made our last morning so much more pleasant. Remember that you will have to eat at the hotel as it is a long way inside the park. The bar menu is good and not extortionate. The wine is expensive at over £10/glass but local beer was reasonable and good and the sparkling wine was surprisingly cheaper. The bar was lovely with a nice terrace and a pianist. The gardens are gorgeous -nice birdlife and we saw a tegu lizard. Breakfast is lovely by the pool.
