"Beautiful location and charming staff"
We spent 5 nights here but the weather was not always great. The resort is set in beautiful gardens and has terrific views. The rooms are pretty but need a little updating - the lights by the bed could be better for reading, there are very few power points and one in our room did not work properly, floors are very squeaky and the windows and doors have gaps which means that insects can get in. On the positive side, the view from our room was fantastic, the rooms are very light and have a nice outdoor verandah area. There was the usual problems of the bedding being unsuitable for an Asian climate - light cotton blankets would be much better than a feather doona which suits a cold climate. Wifi was reasonable and there is a DVD player in the room and a DVD library in the reception area. Breakfast is pretty good - there is a nice selection of foods including good breads and expresso coffees. We also ate lunch and dinner several times at the main restaurant which serves both Thai and international foods. The restaurant has a very pretty outside area. The food was pretty good - large portions so we would often share dishes. However our orders at the Italian evening got mixed up. One drawback with all the rain was the mosquitoes - I got bitten pretty badly although my husband was OK. They do have mosquito repellant devices in the rooms and supplied lots of refills, insect spray and also coils for the verandah. However, despite spray on repellant with DEET, I still got bitten especially outdoors during a yoga class and at dinner. I did not use the spa - it is pretty expensive and the cost of a manicure is twice what I pay in Sydney. The staff are exceptional - charming and genuinely helpful. They really make a difference to your stay.
"A must Samui option"
We have just spent a week at Belmond Napasai and I can't recommend it highly enough. It is a wonderful Samui option if you are looking for a super relaxing stay in a beautiful property and with a stunning pool and villa option. We stayed in an oceanfront villa which I highly recommend. The view is absolute 100% ocean front and the villa deck is the most serene and beautiful place to hang out in (check out my photos). The room windows also totally open up so you are absolutely in the environment. We stayed in villa 103 which was perfect and I would suggest a room between 103 and 105 which is far enough from the pool area to be quiet but not too far a walk from the main areas. A couple of points to note. Breakfast is great however the rest of the food can be a bit hit and miss. A big detraction for us is that they allow smoking in all of the outdoor areas. This means that unless you want to dine in a cloud of smoke you have to stay inside (which is nice but not as good as being outside). They do have multiple outdoor areas so could make one of them non-smoking but despite speaking to the food and beverage manager this didn't happen. So essentially you are discriminated against if you want to enjoy the fresh air with your meals. That being said it didn't outweigh how good the resort was. The activities were great in the resort and there is a good resort gym. You can easily rent a scooter from Noi in the 'Chappy Bar' at the top of the street (about 5 mins walk from the resort) to get out and about (watch out though for her Honda CRV though as it has serious engine issues and wouldn't make up hills when we drove it around the island). The immediate area the resort is in isn't that interesting so this would be a good option to see more of Samui.
"Perfect for the adventurer"
I had the pleasure of staying here for a short week and I thoroughly enjoyed myself! There is so much to do here and the ocean-front villas are absolutely gorgeous. I recommend the scuba diving and kayak experiences. The infinity pool makes for great pictures too!
"Gracious, Courteous and Diligent.. Top Notch"
I do not have any criticism for this place, except maybe I dont want to get out and explore the island of Koh Samui ! Thats how good Belmond Napasai makes you feel on their property, The food the room layouts are all great. I mean if you go looking to complain about something, you might find the odd lizard on a wall somewhere, but hey! its a tropical paradise here and everyone and everything loves it.
"I can't believe the last review"
We are at Belmond until 15th January 17. Could not hope for a better place to relax. We have travelled around the world and have experienced all levels of accommodation Since our arrival in the thunderstorms to our now second day we have got nothing but praise for the staff, the facilities and the quality and cost of food and drinks (disclosure, we are from Perth Australia which is way over priced) The villa (ocean front is clean spacious and has all amenities required) We sat around the pool earlier and paid fair and reasonable prices. Last night we had dinner and wine and again fair value plus the wine from a bottle can be kept for you to finish another time. We came to chill and this is definitely the place.
