"Relaxing by the Sea"
We booked the Belmond through American Express travel. The Property is set on its own beachfront and has a calm and relaxing feel. We were taken well care of by Ae at the front desk and overall the service was impeccable. By the second day it felt that the entire staff knew our name and were excited to help us make the stay as comfortable as possible. Our oceanfront room was private and had a large window overlooking the water. This is a resort, and the town is about 3km away so can be difficult to get to. We did not want to leave.

Beautiful hotel! The oceanfront villas were really oceanfront- like 15 feet away from the sea. Service was impeccable. Staff really went out of their way to please and make sure you are comfortable. Food was okay. Highly recommend this hotel.
"Far from the madding crowd "
Loved this place!!! Extremely helpful staff who can't do enough for you!!! Wonderful breakfast with everything you could wish for AND more besides! Lovely evening meals which are varied and very tasty. Loved our villa on the hill with the sound of the sea! Would recommend the very relaxing spar and free yoga! Never had to fight for a deckchair either on the beach or round the pool! !!
"Beautiful location and charming staff"
We spent 5 nights here but the weather was not always great. The resort is set in beautiful gardens and has terrific views. The rooms are pretty but need a little updating - the lights by the bed could be better for reading, there are very few power points and one in our room did not work properly, floors are very squeaky and the windows and doors have gaps which means that insects can get in. On the positive side, the view from our room was fantastic, the rooms are very light and have a nice outdoor verandah area. There was the usual problems of the bedding being unsuitable for an Asian climate - light cotton blankets would be much better than a feather doona which suits a cold climate. Wifi was reasonable and there is a DVD player in the room and a DVD library in the reception area. Breakfast is pretty good - there is a nice selection of foods including good breads and expresso coffees. We also ate lunch and dinner several times at the main restaurant which serves both Thai and international foods. The restaurant has a very pretty outside area. The food was pretty good - large portions so we would often share dishes. However our orders at the Italian evening got mixed up. One drawback with all the rain was the mosquitoes - I got bitten pretty badly although my husband was OK. They do have mosquito repellant devices in the rooms and supplied lots of refills, insect spray and also coils for the verandah. However, despite spray on repellant with DEET, I still got bitten especially outdoors during a yoga class and at dinner. I did not use the spa - it is pretty expensive and the cost of a manicure is twice what I pay in Sydney. The staff are exceptional - charming and genuinely helpful. They really make a difference to your stay.
