"The place you should stay to treat yourself"
Overall it's a extremely enjoyable experience. You don't even need to going out for the whole vacation. The breakfast box prepared for us at the check-out day, due to the early flight in the morning, is quite thoughtful.
We visited the Belmond Napasai after 8 busy days in Bangkok and Chiang Mai and turned up looking for somewhere lovely to relax. We were not disappointed. We had a 3 bedroom room with private pool. I say room but really it was more like a large villa with 2 lounges/kitchens and 3 lovely ensuite bedrooms set amongst stunning gardens. We travelled with our 3 children (aged 12,11 and 9). The rooms are not connecting although the area is all your own private area set behind a gate. It did make me a little nervous as our 9 year old has a tendancy to get up and come to us if he wakes in the night. My recommendation to anyone travelling with children would therefore be to bring a baby monitor. I took one and if the kids needed us they simple spoke into the monitor. Our private pool was really lovely and the views across the ocean were stunning. We had plenty of loungers and soft towels and it was exceptionally peaceful. We tended to either spend the morning at our pool and stay at the beach/main hotel pool after going to lunch or vice versa. It was lovely to have a bit of family alone time as well as a bit more of a hotel buzz from time to time. The staff are so friendly and the food was very good. If I was there for more than 9 days I think I would have tired of the menu a little but it is definitely worth going to the beach barbecues and special nights as you will then be offered different options. All the restaurants are beautifully set amongst the gardens or on the beach. There are also little gazebos under which a pool table and a Playstation play area and sofas are set just next to the pool which our children took advantage of (and refuge from the hot sun in the day). We were staying on an all inclusive basis and are not sure if we would bother again if we returned as we don't think we really ate or drank enough to warrant it. Although we enjoyed the cocktail menu on the all inclusive basis, unfortunately wine was not included in the AI option and as we prefer wine with dinner we still had a reasonable bill at the end of stay. We did take advantage or our all inclusive surfing/catamaran lessons and my boys loved the individual Thai boxing lessons too. The gardens and layout of this hotel are stunning but if you are one for snorkelling this is not the place for you as the sea is not as clear as in other parts of the world. (unless it was due to evening heavy rain stirring up the water). Overall we had the most wonderful stay and we would thoroughly recommend this beautiful hotel.
"Fabulous hotel "
Stunning setup in general. We booked a bungalow overlooking the beach. The beach could be seen while lying in bed. The infinity pool was amazing. Breakfast was of high quality, rich and there was a variety. The sea had plenty of seaweed and hence swimming is not pleasant. Staff were very friendly, polite and understood our needs. Thanks Belomond

"Beautiful relaxed environment"
We stayed in one of the very spacious hillside private residences with a pool and found it extremely relaxing, well appointed and a beautiful place to spend a week. You need to be ready for a lot of stair climbing as there were 116 steps from the entrance to the pool - no problem for us but you need to be ready for that environment. Whilst the resort has everything you could want for a relaxing time it's not far to reach some other local restaurants. The staff were always attentive and very helpful - you felt like nothing was too much trouble for them. The complimentary experiences (fruit carving; Thai sweet making; Muay Thai and beauty therapist) were very enjoyable for both young and old. Food was of a high quality (with the breakfast selection being exceptional) and you could mix and match the menus so the kids could go western style in any one the restaurants. Could have stayed for many more days than the week we were there.
